gtime readers know that before I drank the “the Jonathan Hickman X-Men era is the best ever” Kool-Aid, X-Men Age Of Apocalypse was my jam for about a decade and a half. And so, I’ve been waiting about that long for a proper 6” (or even 5”) Age of Apocalypse Rogue figure. I worried such a thing might never occur when anecdotes indicated poor sales for the first series of X-Men Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse figures. But the AX-Men Marvel Legends OA Wave 2 Colossus Series is now available, including the “Bride of Magneto” version of Rogue! Is the 6” Marvel Legends AOA Rogue figure all I could have dreamed?

Although there were few New York Comic Con exclusives this year—perhaps because no one was certain if there would be an event at all, given the long-lasting global pandemic—there was at least one cool Marvel exclusive collectible in honor of the show: a limited-edition X-Force Deadpool variant bust by Diamond Select Toys. But displaying and taking orders for that Deadpool wasn’t the only treat Diamond had for fans—they also revealed concept art for a long-demanded Marvel Select action figure: Apocalypse!

The X-Men BDS (Battle Diorama Series) has since become an ever-expanding “golden goose” for the company—and now the line is expanding even further! The Iron Studios Havok and Magik statues are now up for order, and upcoming X-Men statues of Spiral, Mojo and Sauron have been revealed!

But then the Jonathan Hickman era of X-Men arrived, bringing with it Marauders Kate “Don’t Call Me Kitty” Pryde, and my heart grew three sizes that day. I’ve been hoping for a statue or at least a Marvel Legends figure of her ever since, but the first piece of merch for the character is neither: the Previews EXCLUSIVE Funko POP Kate Pryde & Lockheed figure is now up for order online! Hold Fast!!

Many fans assumed we’d be seeing a 5-Pack (or larger) to knock out the whole core team in one fell swoop, but it ends up that those guesses slightly missed the mark. Today, Hasbro officially revealed the upcoming Exclusive Marvel Legends Excalibur figures box set—including Captain Britain, Meggan and Shadowcat Kitty Pryde!

And X-fans have got some things they knew about—and some they did not—to get excited about! For the first time ever, ShopDisney (AKA the online Disney Store) is sharing an exclusive with Hasbro Pulse Premium: the exclusive Marvel Legends X-Force 3-Pack Cannonball, Domino and Rictor figures are now up for order! Cain arrived internationally months ago, but the time has arrived for US folk: the limited Iron Studios Juggernaut exclusive statue is now up for order only on Sideshow’s website!

Designed by Shunya Yamashita and sculpted by TSUBAME, former X-23 Laura Kinney is back with a new costume and codename: the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Wolverine Laura Kinney statue is now up for order! Laura has grown up and succeeded Logan as Wolverine–will her new Bishoujo succeed the old X-23 one in your collection?

That was fine for many fans who were going to pre-order no matter what–but for those who were waiting to see final hi-res and packaged photos of the figures, the time has now come! Today, Hasbro officially unveiled the final images of the 2021 Marvel Legends X-Men AOA Wave 2 figures!

After hitting 1/4 statue collectors with a veritable deluge of X-Men statues over the course of about two years, Sideshow Collectibles hit the brakes and slowed things down considerably once the pandemic hit. Other than a (rather awkwardly posed) Brown Costume Wolverine, Sideshow has launched zero new X-Men statues since 2019. But the drought is at an end—and appropriately enough, it’s Ororo Munroe bringing the rain! The new Sideshow Storm Premium Format Figure statue is now up for order: does the Wind Rider look worth the six Ben Franklins she’ll set you back?

The cat (or rather, the Wolverine) is out of the bag: a new Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends Wolverine box set is now up for order! Cyber and a repainted Omega Red join the previously announced Callisto, Mastermind and Shirtless Wolverine–but is this quintet a must-have…?
Continue Reading →After just announcing and opening pre-orders for the whole 2021 Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse Colossus series last week, you might think that Hasbro might take a little X-related break for a bit. But if so, you would think wrong—because Hasbro has been revealing even more upcoming X-Men Legends figures each day since Saturday via the community! We don’t know the exact release specifics just yet, but Marvel Legends Callisto, Mastermind and Shirtless Wolverine have all now been officially revealed!
Continue Reading →Ever since Marvel Legends Wild Child was revealed in summer 2019, fans have been anticipating that a second wave of X-Men Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse figures including Sabretooth MUST be in the works. There were some trepidation the first series didn’t sell so well and might jeopardize the sequel, but Hasbro laid those fears to rest this past week when the Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse Wave 2 Series went up for pre-order! With 7 single-packed figures and the first-ever AOA Colossus as the Build-A-Figure, is this wave a can’t miss for X-Men fans?
Continue Reading →Even though we’re almost a full quarter into 2021 now, only two waves of Hasbro Marvel Legends 2021 figures have actually hit stores. That’s a bummer since I like having ample new figures to buy, but I’m also thankful since I’m already way behind on reviews. But this week I’ll be knocking out reviews for both of the Marvel Legends Build-A-Figures so far—and I’m starting with the one that’s somehow even more Z-List than Stilt-Man! The Marvel Legends Tri-Sentinel BAF can be assembled by buying 6/7ths of this year’s House of X Marvel Legends X-Men series: is this a Sentinel worth building?
Continue Reading →Jonathan Hickman’s House of X/Powers of X is basically the equivalent of the X-Men holy bible in my eyes, so there was never a doubt I would drop everything to review this year’s House of X Marvel Legends X-Men Series figures as soon as I got the set in-hand. And after having to wait a few days for the last figure to arrive so I could bust open the whole set, she’s finally here! Marvel Legends House of X Marvel Girl is the fastest-selling figure in this year’s X-Men Legends series—let’s see if she’s worthy of the hype!
