X-Men Marvel Legends 2014 Case Ratios & Release Info

There’s good news and bad news for Marvel collectors who are getting pumped for this summer’s Hasbro X-Men Marvel Legends Infinite Series with Jubilee Build-A-Figure. The good news is that the series is going to have additional availability beyond Toys R Us, as online retailers and comic book stores will also be taking pre-orders for the 6″ X-Men Legends figures. The bad news is that the case ratios for the series have also been revealed, and two of the figures coming with Jubilee Build-A-Figure parts are in fact shortpacked…

Marvel Legends Stryfe X-Men Jubilee Build-A-Figure Wave Packaged

As has been rumored since last week, the Marvel X-Men Legends Jubilee Build-A-Figure Series is in fact going to be a shared exclusive between Toys R Us and retailers who order from Preview Magazine. This isn’t a really big surprise or an unprecedented scenario–Toys R Us and Previews (Diamond Comics Distribution) have shared exclusives many times in the past.

And while last year’s Wolverine Legends Emma Frost figure ended up being a major pain to track down for many, the additional availability at Toys R Us should make these figures far easier to acquire.

Unfortunately, as virtually everyone guessed, the X-Men Legends Storm figure has been shortpacked at one-per-case. And she’s not the only one…

Marvel Legends 2014 X-Men Legends Case RatiosThe complete Marvel Legends X-Men Infinite Series case pack is as follows:

(2) X-Men Marvel Legends Stryfe
(2) X-Men Marvel Legends Wolverine (Unmasked)
(2) X-Men Marvel Legends Cyclops (Marvel NOW!)
(1) X-Men Marvel Legends Storm (Marvel NOW!)
(1) X-Men Marvel Legends Magneto (Classic)

2014 Marvel Legends X-Men Storm Infinite Series Figure Packaged

As this is the first Storm Marvel Legends figure in many years and she comes with the whole torso and legs for the Marvel Legends Jubilee figure, Storm is going to be in very high demand. Likewise, a classic Magneto Marvel Legends action figure hasn’t been released since Marvel Legends Series 3 (way back in the ToyBiz Marvel Legends days), so I anticipate that the demand for this Magneto may also be greater than Hasbro is giving it credit for.

Considering the exclusive nature of this wave, I feel like Hasbro could have omitted Wolverine entirely and even-packed the rest of the figures at two-per-case and all parties would have been perfectly happy. But alas.

Marvel Legends X-Men Series Magneto Packaged with Jubilee Build-A-Figure ArmThe Marvel Legends X-Men Infinite Series is now available for pre-order online and is scheduled to be released in July/August 2014. I imagine those planning to hunt for this series at retail are going to have to contend with a tsunami of Wolverine and Cyclops figures, but let’s hope for the best.

Are you planning to collect the exclusive X-Men Legends Jubilee-Build-A-Figure Series, Marvel fans? Or is the high price-tag and potentially difficult-to-find-at-retail aspect of the series scaring you away?

  1. 2 wolverines? at this point looks like hasbro is making fun of marvel legends collectors theres no logic in put 2 wolverines who nobody care about anyway sigh….. wel aleast they are gona sell it online too

  2. I prefer the Toy BIz versions of Storm and Magneto better anyway.
I’m only buying Stryfe, so I really don’t care about the case ratio.

  3. Pre-ordered online two weeks ago, no scalpers, no nonsense, no swimming through wolverines and cyclops. The internez, its the future you know : )

    • Ummm what about bad paint applications? I cant take that risk. I’d rather pick through a few

  4. I’m buying the crap out of those wolverines, hasbro knows the numbers of what sells for them and what doesn’t, they plan the cases accordingly. Just because you really want a storm doesn’t mean she is as popular a character as wolverine. Females just don’t sell as well.

    • Yep, pretty much.
Hasbro isn’t one of the top companies in the industry if they didn’t know what they were doing with their products. The problem is that all to often we collectors think these toys are only being made for us. Toys are made for kids first and foremost with collectors in mind secondly. Seriously, we’re supposed be adults yet were crying about how it’s unfair we can’t get the toy we want? Lol

      • What kid knows who 90% of these characters are? They’re being made for anyone who buys them. Hasbro and Mattel don’t give a crap if it’s children, adults or talking pigeons. Seriously, who under 34 has any idea who Stryfe is?

    • Amazon doesn’t buy from Previews distribution, so they won’t ever be selling the X-Men Legends themselves. However, third-party sellers will be selling them on Amazon, the same as the Wolverine Legends–just at their own, inflated prices.

  5. I walked into a toys r us yesterday and got 3 of the five. I immediately went to the next nearest toys r us and asked an employee if they had any. He told me they weren’t allowed to put them on shelves until 8/1. You may get lucky like I did and get them early in stores.
