ot is one of those classic X-Men characters that you can count on showing up every few years in a supporting role (most often in some rehashed Mojo plotline), hanging around for a short tenure and then slinking back into his off-page status quo. I don’t mind Longshot’s guest appearances, but I’ve long since given up on any lasting character development or changes to him. But even so, it’s been 17 years since Toybiz made their version of ML Longshot, so I was happy to smash the pre-order button when the Hasbro Marvel Legends 2023 Longshot went up for order. Was it a lucky purchase? Here’s my review…

When Hasbro revealed the Black Panther Wakanda Forever Marvel Legends Attuma Series figures, there was clearly something glaringly absent: the titular character of the movie—the new Black Panther. Likely for secrecy reasons, a Shuri Black Panther was not available at launch. But though she was lagging weeks behind, the MCU female Black Panther ML figure still managed to arrive while the MCU movie was in theaters. Marvel Legends The Black Panther Shuri figure is available for purchase now—should you snag one? Here’s my review…

Not every figure has been a winner (I’m looking at -you-, Miles Morales), but by and large there have been a lot more hits than misses. And this week, I’ll review a few of those hits, starting with the subject of today’s review! The Marvel Select Vision figure is classic as can be—is he a must-have for your classic Avengers lineup?
Continue Reading →Sometimes you’re lucky and every figure that comes with a piece of a Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure you want is a character you’d be buying a $25 toy of anyway. And sometimes… sometimes you’re forced to buy Agent Jimmy Woo. Such is the fate of collectors wanting to complete their Marvel Legends Khonshu BAF! Is it worth ordering the newly-released Disney+ Marvel Legends Jimmy Woo figure to do so…?
Continue Reading →Marvel Legends Zombie Captain America was a 2021 figure that was one of my surprise favorite Hasbro releases of that year. The level of uncharacteristic goriness in a Marvel Legends 6” toy felt fresh and new, and immediately left me wanting more Marvel Zombies figures. It took a bit over a year, but Cap finally has reanimated reinforcements to munch on brains with: is the recently-released Marvel Legends Zombie Scarlet Witch a worthy undead addition to your collection?

But one facet of the “Phase” that I found absolutely captivating was the final episode of Loki Season 1. And now, the ultimate antagonist of that Disney+ (and sort of the next several years of Marvel movies) makes his chilling presence known in toy form: Marvel Legends He-Who-Remains is now beginning to ship out! Is this timeless villain worthy of joining your action figure collection?

Retro Marvel Legends Firelord is a long, long overdue addition to the Marvel Legends pantheon—but after 20 years of waiting, is this figure all it could be?
Continue Reading →I can count on one hand the number of times a resin statue company has managed to covertly sneak an unannounced all-new sculpture from a popular line all the way through production and successfully announce it via actual in-stock ordering, but that’s just the feat Diamond Select Toys has pulled off with their newest entry in the X-Men Animated Series busts lineup. To the shock of fans everywhere, the DST X-Men Animated Beast statue has been released is now available for order exclusively from ShopDisney. Is this surprise drop worth getting hyped about? Here’s my review…

But with the subject of today’s review, Hasbro is going for broke by updating a Toybiz figure, doing a new version of a character we’ve seen many times, and also covering a never-before-done character! The Marvel Legends Howard the Duck figure (with Scott Lang head and Khonshu BAF torso) is now beginning to ship out early! Is this unorthodox sorta-three-pack a worthwhile pickup?
Continue Reading →Love it or hate it, there’s no question that the Disney+ She-Hulk Attorney at Law live-action series has brought Jennifer Walters into the public eye like never before. And such an occasion certainly necessitated an all-new toy to coincide: the Disney+ Marvel Legends She-Hulk figure is now available for order! Is this lawyer worth her rate? Here’s my review of the new Infinity Ultron Series figure…
Continue Reading →I have read hundreds of Thor comic books in my life, but even so, my jaw absolutely dropped when I saw something I never imagined—Thor becoming Galactus’s herald, at the start of Donny Cates’ run. And now, Hasbro is capturing this awe-inspiring plotline in plastic form: the Marvel Legends Herald of Galactus Thor figure is now available! Do you need your own Herald of Thunder 6” figure? Here’s my review…

But their most recent release was a bit of a surprise when announced, as it was a character there didn’t seem to be much hype to see redone right away. Even so, the new Walgreens Exclusive Sentry Marvel Legends figure is now in-stock for ordering online! Time for me to do a review with the power of a million exploding suns…

The 3.75” Marvel Universe Bag-Man figure was a hard-to-get and coveted figure for ages, but now Hasbro is taking Spidey’s oddest look to the next level with the Target exclusive 6” Marvel Legends Bombastic Bag-Man figure! Does this comedic Spidey toy delight? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →My first foray into the new era of plastic-free packaged Marvel Legends figures was a bit of a disappointment, as I thought the Spider-Man Homecoming Marvel Legends Peter Parker & Ned Leeds two-pack was a mite mediocre overall. But I had high hopes for today’s review of a costume that’s somehow never been done officially in the long-running series: the comic-based Marvel Legends Iron Spider figure has swung in! Is it worth its lofty deluxe price-point…?
Continue Reading →Much to the dismay of a vocal contingent of fans and collectors, the plastic-free packaging era of Hasbro Marvel Legends action figures has arrived. All of my toy packaging goes straight to the recycling bin, so I didn’t really expect the switch to bother me much. But now that I have the new Spider-Man Homecoming Marvel Legends Peter Parker and Ned Leeds 2-Pack in-hand, I recognize the shortcomings of these environmentally friendly boxes. Here’s my review of Peter & Ned…
