Funko Civil War POP Vinyls Revealed & Up for Order!

While things have been a mite quiet on many manufacturers’ fronts since we crossed over into the new year, Funko isn’t one of those companies! The “Captain America: Civil War” movie is coming our way in just a few short months, and there’s no way that Funko would miss this golden opportunity to wage war on collectors’ wallets: a full series of ten mass-release Funko Captain America Civil War POP Vinyls are now up for order–including Black Panther, Agent 13, Crossbones, and a 6″ Giant-Man POP Vinyl!

Though there was never any kind of official announcement that Funko had acquired the license to produce figures based on the impending “Captain America: Civil War” film, I don’t think anybody had any delusions that such figures weren’t forthcoming.

And today, not only did Funko make the massive list of upcoming Civil War POPs official–they even allowed retailers to start taking orders for them! Ten figures will be mass-released this spring, with another half-dozen announced as retailer exclusives. I’ll cover the store exclusives in a separate post, but these are the ten figures that should be available everywhere:

Crossbones and Black Panther (pictured way above) are two of the four all-new characters appearing in this series. The other two characters making their debut are Agent 13 (Sharon Carter) and the super-sized 6″ Giant-Man figure (although it’s just a blown-up version of Scott Lang Ant-Man, obviously).

The people crying out about toy manufacturers and “spoilers” with regards to Captain America: Civil War are making me a little crazy. I think some folks may be going overboard with “spoilers” at this point. Toy lines have always and will always “spoil” some things from a movie, depending upon your point of view. I reckon we’ll be seeing Giant-Man in the next Civil War trailer, so hopefully then people will be more chill about it.

The Civil War POP Vinyls Agent 13 figure unfortunately looks a little generic. In fact, it sort of looks like she’s in a bowling shirt to me. I’m not going to turn my nose up at a new character getting an all-new body mold, and I’ll definitely be buying this Sharon Carter, but it’s not my favorite figure in this series by a longshot.

In addition to the four newcomers, we’re also getting a half-dozen old friends in updated costumes at retail this spring. There’s two more females represented here–Civil War Black Widow and Scarlet Witch–which I’m sure will delight folks who had been worried years back about the Funko Marvel series being a vinyl sausage-fest.

This will be the fourth time a Funko POP Vinyls Black Widow is released, but the first time that we get Natasha primed for combat and not wielding any weapons.

The Captain America and Iron Man POPs are rather generic-looking, but I do like the new not-totally-evil Bucky POP and the War Machine Mark III with Baton. I’m a Funko unique number completist, so I’ll be purchasing all of these.

There’s also another half-dozen figures announced as retailer exclusives (including the first-ever Funko Falcon!), which I’ll be discussing in just a few minutes.

What do you think of the Captain America Civil War Funko POP! Vinyls figures, Marvel collectors? Which vinyl figures (if any) will you be picking up? Are all of the characters that you were hoping to see represented in this assortment, or did Funko miss somebody that you were really hoping for?

      • Thanks for the info… but that will suck for those of us who don’t want to join Collector’s Corps…

        • I mean, CC is pretty easy to work with. You can easily join and then cancel as soon as the box you wants ships. You only get into trouble if you sign up for a whole year outright and then want to cancel.
