Back when I reviewed the X-Men Marvel Legends Gambit figure from the Caliban Series in 2019, I said that “I wouldn’t mind seeing another version of this same figure released” down the road. Hasbro must have taken that to heart, because now they’ve updated and released this Remy twice more! The Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Gambit figure is now available—is the third time the charm that elevates this Gambit to definitive?

I think it should be mandatory to exclaim “SWEET CHRISTMAS!!” in the introduction to any review of a classic Luke Cage action figure, so let’s get that out of the way right now. Toybiz first released their take on Power Man back in 2006, but Hasbro has only produced more modern versions of Cage… until now! The 2023 Marvel Legends Luke Cage Power Man figure isn’t coming to most retail stores—should you pick up this 70s icon online while you can?

And what a wave the Void Build-A-Figure Series is, bringing long sought-after definitive versions of Black Panther and Vision, as well along with characters many thought would ever see plastic form like Crystar and Power Princess…

Spider-Man No Way Home was clearly the MCU theatrical release star of the pandemic era, but the strict attempts to keep the movie’s secrets led to a dearth of toys and collectibles ready within a year of its 2021 release.
In fact, likely to the extreme surprise of anyone who hasn’t been avidly collecting for the past two years, no Hasbro Spider-Man No Way Home Marvel Legends action figures have made it to retail stores at all yet.
But the wait is over—Hasbro announced a six-figure blister carded wave of Spider-Man NWH Legends 6” figures today, along with previewing and teasing other additions to the lineup!
Up for P.O. now on EE are:

Moon Knight has had a significant surge in popularity in recent years, and while the modern comics and Disney+ MCU looks have had more availability, it’s the classic comic books Moon Knight Legends figure that is most sought after by fans. Thankfully, the fan-favorite vintage-packaged Marvel Legends Retro series now exists, allowing Hasbro to do single releases of in-demand characters. And thus, two new Target Elusive Marvel Legends figures are now up for PO: Moon Knight and… a modified version of last year’s First Appearance Spider-Man?
Continue Reading →Armored Iron Man villains are few and far between in the 6”Marvel Legends figure line, but to coincide with this week’s Hasbro PulseCon 2023 online event, Hasbro is adding an all-new character to the line! No, it’s not the classic Titanium Man or Crimson Dynamo that fans have been asking for, but it is a character much better suited to being a limited exclusive: after debuting in the Iron Man comics in 2010, a Marvel Legends Detroit Steel figure is flying in for orders during the 2023 PulseCon later this week!
Continue Reading →The Avengers 60th Anniversary is in its home stretch—but before the milestone year draws to a close, Hasbro had one humongous card left to play. It didn’t come as an enormous surprise to anyone when it was revealed last week, but 2023’s beyond big new Marvel Legends Haslab has now begun: a towering 24” Giant-Man figure!
Continue Reading →Joe Fixit the Las Vegas Mob Enforcer is about as far down on my list of favorite Hulk iterations as you can get, so I wasn’t too chapped about missing the Joe Fixit BAF of the Marvel Legends GamerVerse series I absolutely didn’t want to buy the entire wave of back in 2020. But now that I could get him solo as a Marvel Legends 2023 Walmart Exclusive (without having to buy variants of Iron Man and Captain America I’d immediately bin), this Grey Hulk looked a whole lot more appealing. Now that I have him in-hand, am I glad I softened on the mobster (not monster) Hulk? Here’s my review…

But Hasbro has a remedy for that—a new full wave of 8 Marvel Legends Infinity Saga figures! Even so, this assortment is likely to draw the ire of many long-time collectors. Old favorite characters like Iron Man Mark II, Stealth Captain America, Bruce Banner and Winter Soldier Black Widow are back up for order today at 1PM EST—but they may look a lot like previous versions of the characters…

And “giant” in the collectibles world is often synonymous with “expensive”. But Hasbro has a clever solution to that accessibility roadblock in their bag of tricks: the low-priced, low-detailed and low-articulated Marvel Titan Hero Series of oversized figures! And so, for the first time in decades, you can order a foot-tall-plus Sentinel for under 30 bucks! Is the X-Men 97 Sentinel Titan Hero figure the value-priced mutant-hunting robot army-builders have been dreaming of?
Continue Reading →Black Widow has got to be in the running for the female character who’s had the highest number of 6” Marvel Legends figures over the years. From live action to comic-based, from Natasha to Yelena, we’ve had no shortage of Hasbro Black Widow figures over the years. And so, the announcement of this year’s Target Exclusive Marvel Legends Black Widow 60th Anniversary figure was met with some malaise. But now that I’ve got her in-hand, might this be the best comic book Black Widow action figure to-date?
Continue Reading →Sometimes the stars align and Hasbro can keep a whole wave of Marvel Legends secret until the last moment, and sometimes the stars don’t and the wave is actually in stores internationally before it’s even finished being revealed officially. This latest Disney+ Marvel Legends Hydra Stomper series is the latter occurrence, and seems to be receiving little fanfare even now that it has been announced and put up for order. But with long-awaited characters like live-action Nick Fury, Kingpin and Agatha, does this set deserve to make a bigger splash?

X-Men ‘97 is kind of a big deal (as far as streaming superhero cartoons go), and so Hasbro is planning a fairly big rollout of toys to coincide with the eventual release of the series (which is still undated). As such, there’s more on the way than just the 4” series that includes the Rogue I reviewed yesterday—Hasbro unveiled the first wave of a whole new 6” Marvel Legends X-Men 97 series at SDCC 2023, including a half-dozen updated iconic mutants. Let’s take a look…
UPDATE: The whole wave is now up for pre-order as of Aug 3, 2023. Links below…

Sometimes, prominent classic characters like Mephisto and Madelyne Pryor never make it into Marvel Legends figure production at all after decades of requests from fans. And sometimes, we get characters like the demented post-psychoactive goo villainous clone of Spider-Man as toys less than a year and a half after his first appearance. Fair or unfair, the Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends Chasm figure has started shipping out—is this crazed, mutated Ben Reilly worth adding to your Spidey villains shelf?
Continue Reading →It’s taken a few… decades… but the continuation of the legendary X-Men The Animated Series (sometimes affectionately referred to as X-Men ‘92) is finally almost upon us (sort of)! There was still no firm premiere date announced at SDCC 2023, but at least we know the series will arrive in the near-ish future. And new show means new toys! In fact, the first X-Men 97 toys have already started shipping, including this 4” X-Men 97 Epic Hero Series Rogue figure I ordered to review…
