One of the most difficult collecting decisions I had to make last year was ultimately to pass on the Hot Toys T’Chaka Black Panther figure. As much as I loved having at least one of every MCU character in my Hot Toys 1/6 figure Collection, King T’Chaka just isn’t a character I felt I needed a $220 figure of. But while I wouldn’t pay that price for T’Challa’s dad, I was willing to drop 20 bucks on the Marvel Legends T’Chaka 6” figure! At that price, is it worth having the former King of Wakanda in your collection?

Oftentimes the Build-A-Figure of a Marvel Legends series is the most in-demand character in the wave and acts as a sort of carrot to sell the rest of the figures (a la Kingpin). But sometimes the BAF is a little… less… demanded. Such is the case with today’s subject of review: the Captain Marvel Marvel Legends Kree Sentry Build-A-Figure! Despite being a classic comic book based character and an army-builder, the Kree Sentry BAF is already selling for just 60 bucks two weeks after release. Is this first ML BAF of 2019 an underrated one?

And the most hype-worthy of the returning MCU mainstays is Samuel L. Jackson, who reportedly will be getting an origin story of a sorts in the film. And to celebrate, he’s also getting his first mass-released 6” figure: the young Nick Fury Marvel Legends movie figure (with Goose “cat”!) is now available online—is the future director of SHIELD worth your 20 bucks?

That’s why we got the weird Astral Doctor Strange figure a few years back, and it’s why we’re getting this Captain Marvel Legends figure in flight jacket. But unlike that Doctor Strange, this figure has a few things in its favor, including a new Brie Larson portrait and an exclusive Goose the Cat figure. Do these new additions warrant dropping $19.99 on this version of Carol?

Considering the fact that the 2013 Scarlet Spider Marvel Legends figure has been in the header for this site ever since I opened it over half a decade ago, I don’t think anyone will be stunned to learn that I’m a big Kaine Parker fan. While that ML Rocket Raccoon Series figure is a bit dated by today’s standards, I loved (and still do love) it. But time has marched forward, action figures have advanced, and it was time for a new version of Kaine to be released. The Marvel Legends SP//DR Series Scarlet Spider figure is already selling out and escalating in price: is it worth upgrading before it’s too late?

Earlier this year, Hasbro gave 6” figure collectors their very first dose of a modern X-23 Marvel Legends figure in the Deadpool Sasquatch Series with X-Force X-23. I was taken off-guard by how much I liked that figure, primarily because of its awesome head sculpt. But a few months later, Hasbro hit Laura Kinney fans up again with the version of the character everyone had been waiting for: the Marvel Legends X-23 Wolverine figure! Though she’s hard to find in some areas, you can get ML X-23 Wolverine online for MSRP without a fuss—should you?

While I initially thought that there might not be enough marketable related characters to produce a second wave of Deadpool Legends, Hasbro drew from a much deeper well and used the Sauron Series to give us an assortment that’s more of a pseudo second X-Men wave for the year than anything else. And one of its highlights is an X-Men villain we haven’t seen in 6” form in 13 years! Marvel Legends Omega Red is available now online for above retail price: should you replace your Toybiz version with this one?

With the sheer mass of GOTG collectibles that have been released over the past several years, I’ve realized that goal is pretty unrealistic. But with Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord being my favorite character in the whole MCU, I’m all-in when it comes to Star-Lord toys. So when the Marvel Gallery Star-Lord Unmasked PVC statue started shipping last month, it was on its way to my home shortly thereafter. At 11″ tall and just 40 bucks, it’s a steal value-wish… but is this Chris Pratt figure actually any good…?

I always try desperately to curb my spending around the holidays, but when a good deal comes up, a good deal comes up. So when Amazon temporarily mispriced the Iron Studios Rocket Raccoon & Groot BDS Statue down to 45 bucks last week, what was a GOTG fan to do besides one-click purchase them for himself, right? They caught the mistake reasonably quick and spiked the price back up now, which begs the question: is this 1:10 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Statue worth the full MSRP?
