Due to Disney’s late decision to try to keep merchandisers from revealing the presence of Giant-Man in Civil War, not only were few people surprised when he appeared in the movie, but he didn’t get nearly as much fanfare or as many toys as he should have. But for those who don’t want to shell out $120 for the Marvel Legends Giant-Man Build-A-Figure, a consolation prize has now appeared: an exclusive box set with a 12″ Titan Hero Giant-Man!

I wasn’t exactly in love with last year’s Ant-Man movie, so I had low expectations for Paul Rudd’s Giant-Man appearance in Captain America: Civil War this spring. But as it turned out, the battle with Giant-Man was one of the most fun and exciting portions of the entire movie, and even made me a real Paul Rudd Ant-Man fan (something I never would have expected after his solo film)!

And now, Hasbro is finally cashing in on one of the most memorable fights ever in a Marvel movie with this Toys R Us exclusive Miniverse boxed set!

The set includes three 2.5″ Miniverse figures that are straight repacks from previously released two-packs: Captain America (with shield), Black Panther and Iron Man.

These little Miniverse 2.5″ figures are aimed at children, and I don’t usually do coverage of them here on Marvel Toy News, as I’ve never gotten any requests to talk about them (ever).

But I’m making a special exception this time, as the set includes one never-before-released Marvel Titan Heroes figure as an exclusive: Giant-Man!

Now, Marvel Titan Hero figures have come a long way since Hasbro launched the line, but the sculpting and paint detailing still can’t hold a candle to the collector-oriented Marvel Legends figures.

Even so, getting a nice-looking 12″ Giant-Man figure with three reasonably-to-scale little action figures of three of the main characters from Civil War for 20 bucks is tough to beat!

The Marvel Miniverse Giant-Man Box Set is now available as a Toys R Us exclusive set, and is being stocked on the shelves of most Toys R Us stores now for $19.99. Despite being an exclusive, as this isn’t a collector-oriented line, I suspect that these should be pretty easy to obtain without much competition for a good, long time for interested parties.
