The Funko juggernaut can’t be stopped, and today Funko officially opened pre-orders and sent out the first images of the fully-painted Spider-Man and Electro Amazing Spider-Man 2 POP Vinyls figures!

Funko brings out a multitude of Marvel POP! Vinyls figures for virtually every single Marvel movie that hits theaters, so it was only a matter of time and patience until we saw Funko’s offerings for the next major Marvel film! I thought perhaps Funko was saving their Captain America: The Winter Soldier POP Vinyls to debut at the New York Toy Fair 2014 next month, but that was not to be! I have a love-hate relationship with Funko POP Vinyls that leans more toward “love” as time goes on, but I have nothing but the purest love for the Funko Mystery Minis Blind Box figures. They’re cheaper, smaller, tend to have better quality control, and come with the thrill that you only get pulling random blind box figures!
While we got a spectrum of Funko Mystery Minis licensed figure in 2013 ranging from My Little Pony to Walking Dead to DC, the line will expand again in 2014, when Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 is released!

From what I’ve heard, the Loki POP! Vinyl figure that is part of the Funko Thor: The Dark World POP! Vinyls series of figure bobble-heads is far and away the best seller in the bunch. This is hardly a shocker, as the previous POP! Vinyls Loki figures are outrageously expensive and hard-to-get on the aftermarket. Back in July during SDCC 2013, photos leaked out of a pair of hitherto-unannounced Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl figures: a Peter Parker POP Vinyl and a Compound Hulk POP Vinyl. We’ve gone a while with nary a word about either figure, but since both are mere repaints, it was always pretty certain that they would turn up eventually–and now, the first one has! We’ve known that Funko was planning a series of Thor The Dark World POP! Vinyls figures for a while now, but Funko has shrouded images of the figures in secrecy. They weren’t shown at San Diego Comic 2013, and we didn’t even know the full character assortment–until now!
