San Diego Comic Con 2021 at Home is going on now, but it’s been rather quiet news-wise for figures nonetheless. Hasbro dropped loads of new Marvel Legends figures (and a $400 World-Devourer) earlier in the month, and Hot Toys had their big week of premieres last week. Luckily for statue fans, Diamond Select Toys (and Sideshow Collectibles) have some goodies to show off (and sell). As prices continue to rise on large resin statues, we’re seeing a mini-resurgence of Marvel mini-busts this year with new offerings coming from Sideshow, DST and Gentle Giant. Sideshow kicked off their new line of smaller busts earlier this year with a cool Thanos, but now they’ve upped the ante with a cheaper—and more impressive—second piece: the Sideshow Wolverine Bust is now available for order! After Diamond Select Toys acquired Gentle Giant Ltd. earlier this year, there were some early trepidations that it might be curtains for some of Gentle Giant’s long-running Marvel lines such as their busts and Skottie Young Babies. Luckily, it’s ended up being business as usual with a fairly steady string of new items being solicited this spring and summer.
