Before I even got my set of Spider-Man Marvel Legends Infinite Series figures in the mail, I already had preconceived notions of which were going to be the figures I adored and which would be the ones that I liked… less. The 2014 Marvel Legends Ultimate Beetle figure fit into the latter category. To my surprise, though, I was so impressed with the Ultimate Beetle figure, I decided to lead off my Marvel Legends 2014 Spider-Man reviews with him…

Last week I talked about the magnificent Human Torch statue that Bowen Designs just released. But Johnny Storm isn’t the only character to get a new Bowen Statue released this month! Strikedown Thor and Astonishing Wolverine have begun shipping as well, and the latest Bowen Designs Marvel statue has also just started to arrive.
The Bowen Green Goblin (Museum Pose) statue has just flown in (sans Goblin Glider), and just might be the best Green Goblin statue ever…

Once I saw that the Hong Kong scrappers had listed the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends variants online earlier this month, I was 100% certain that (for a change) these Marvel Legends variant swap figures would actually be released.
And lo and behold, they actually are coming–Spider-Man Legends Wave 2 is now up for pre-order! Unfortunately, the case ratios for Amazing Spider-Man Marvel Legends Series 2 are every bit as bad as we could have imagined…

Sometimes Diamond Select Toys is very successful at keeping a secret, and sometimes they’re foiled by their own packaging materials! Though the Disney Store exclusive Marvel Select Superior Spider-Man figure was meant to be kept top-secret until Disney was ready to announce it, a photo of the figure was in the pamphlet that came with the most recent Marvel Select action figures. But even though the surprise was ruined, I’m still enthusiastic about this figure. The Marvel Select Superior Spider-Man figure is now officially announced and available for order!

Diamond Select Toys confirmed last week that an Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Select Figure was on the way, and this week they’ve released their first photos of the upcoming Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 action figure!
While it seems very unlikely based on what we’ve heard that there will be any super-villains released for Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the Marvel Select line, at least we’ll have Spider-Man wearing a fireman hat! The Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure is now up for pre-order!

Though the first photos of Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 leaked out a little bit earlier this month, we’ve had to wait a bit for Funko to confirm the assortment and send out hi-res images of the set. Well, not only has Funko done that today–they’ve also shown off the packaging for the Marvel Funko Mystery Minis, shared the rarity scale for the figures and put Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 up for order! And if you want a complete set of Marvel Mystery Minis, be prepared to spend a lot of money buying blind boxes and hunting for the rarest figures…

If you have no clue what the heck “MAFEX” is, I’ll forgive you. See, Medicom just launched the Japananese MAFEX (Miracle Action Figure EX) line of action figures in Spring 2013, and there have only been two releases in the line thus far (MAFEX #1 Amazing Spider-Man and MAFEX #2 Batman). MAFEX #3 is set to arrive a full year after its predecessors, and, well… it’s Spider-Man again. But as far as Amazing Spider-Man 2 action figures go, this MAFEX Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure is looking pretty decent… but maybe not decent enough for its price-tag…

Whenever Art Asylum posts a new Marvel-centric ASK DST Q&A, it’s one of the high points of each month for me (no, really–my life is pretty dull). Diamond Select Toys is one of the most open and fan-friendly toy companies out there, and they go out of their way to answer each and every question collectors ask of them. There’s almost always at least some worthwhile tidbit contained within the Q&A, and in the latest one, we finally got confirmation of a Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure–as well as confirmation of who won’t be getting a Marvel Select action figure…

The Funko juggernaut can’t be stopped, and today Funko officially opened pre-orders and sent out the first images of the fully-painted Spider-Man and Electro Amazing Spider-Man 2 POP Vinyls figures!
While I don’t think this duo of POP! Vinyls figures can compete with the coolness of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Winter Soldier vinyl figures we’ve seen prototypes of the past few days, I figure at least one of these two figures is a “must buy” (and I imagine you all can guess which one)…

While the Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends 6″ figures that just hit stores in the last week or have been hogging all of the headlines, those aren’t the only mass-release Amazing Spider-Man 2 action figures Hasbro has lined up for us!
Just released in stores, we also have the 4″ Amazing Spider-Man 2 figures, including movie Electro and such uh, “creative” concepts as “Blitz Board Spider-Man”, “Slash Gauntlet Spider-Man” and more!

Prepare yourselves well for what is a true shocker, Marvel collectors. The end times may truly be upon us.
The portent of this impending doom…? Hasbro is actually going to be releasing some of their notorious-for-never-coming-out Marvel Legends variant figures. Ebay listings have turned up for the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Boomerang, Toxin and Spider-Girl figures, confirming that these figures are in fact currently in production and should be released in a few months time…

I can’t remember the last time that a Marvel movie came and went in theaters without a corresponding set of Marvel Minimates movie figures released, so it wasn’t unexpected when pre-orders opened today confirming the themed Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Minimates Wave 56 set!
Diamond Select Toys is giving us a larger selection of characters for ASM2 than any other company, although the characters may not be the most exciting ones ever…

Not to be outdone by Batman, Spider-Man is busting his Spider-Helicopter out of the garage next year and taking his fight against crime to the sky! Didn’t know Spider-Man owned a giant attack helicopter? Neither did anyone else, but LEGO has the inside scoop! Last but not least in my coverage of the LEGO Marvel 2014 sets, it’s the set that can rival all of the others from this wave in both minifigures and wackiness factor–the 2014 LEGO Marvel Spider-Helicopter Rescue 76016!

Doctor Octopus has appeared more times in LEGO minifigure form than any other LEGO Marvel villain. So you would probably think that with there being five previous LEGO Doc Ock minifigure releases, at least one of those would have been a classic comic-inspired Doctor Octopus figure. Nope! Every single one of those LEGO Doctor Octopus (Octopi?) figures has been based on the Spider-Man 2 movie or Ultimate Spider-Man. But the classic Doctor Octopus LEGO minifigure we’ve all been dreaming of will finally arrive in 2014, as part of LEGO Marvel Doc Ock’s Truck Heist 76015!

I started off coverage of the LEGO Marvel 2014 sets by discussing the largest set coming this winter, and now it’s time to take a look at the smallest set. While you might think at a glance that this set is an actual LEGO Amazing Spider-Man 2 set, it’s actually not quite what it appears to be.
Coming later this winter, it’s the Spider-Man LEGO Spider-Trike vs. Electro 76014!
