Hasbro has been doling out fan service like never before to X-Men collectors over the course of 2019, including new versions of some of the most requested characters such as Beast, Jubilee, Dani Moonstar and Professor X. But perhaps the singular most exciting 6” X-Men Legends action figure of the year for most fans was an updated version of the Ragin’ Cajun himself! Hasbro double-packed the new Marvel Legends Gambit so he’d be readily and affordably available to everyone—but is this long-awaited Jim Lee Gambit 90s figure up to snuff?

The bad news this week for much of the United States was that we got blasted with the most major winter storm so far this year and had to dig ourselves out. The good news is that I finally got snow for the first time this year in my neck of the woods (16” of it, to be exact!), which meant that at long last I could take a certain X-Men Legends 6” figure for outdoor review photos! The Marvel Legends Iceman Vintage series figure is already down to 13 bucks shipped just a few months after being released, but is this Bobby Drake figure really all that bad…?

If anyone had asked me to make a list of the top 500 characters I thought we were likely to see a Marvel Legends action figure of in 2019, Skullbuster of the Reavers would not have been on that list. He probably wouldn’t have even been in my top 1000. But he came anyway, and as expected, X-Men Marvel Legends Skullbuster is already discounted online. But being a slow seller doesn’t necessarily correlate to being a bad action figure! Is the first of the Hasbro Marvel Legends Reavers worth snagging while he’s cheap? Here’s my review…
