Two Marvel topics guaranteed to get me warm and fuzzy are Marvel mini busts and the various 90s animated cartoon series (headlined by the X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons). I never thought those two facets would come together—but thanks to Diamond Select Toys, now they have! The low-priced Jim Lee Cyclops bust kicking off the line just shipped out, with guaranteed hits like Wolverine and Magneto coming up fast. And at Toy Fair, DST expanded their offerings further by debuting Spider-Man, Deadpool, Mysterio and more!

Going up for order later this year, it’s Marvel Legends X-Men and Deadpool figures based on the FOX movies! Professor X, Wolverine, Mystique, Magneto, Cable and more! Even though the full lineup of single-packed 2020 Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse figures has been known since last fall, Hasbro has kept a tight lid on the identity of the Sugar Man Build-A-Figure for months so that a grandiose reveal could occur… the night before Toy Fair 2020 on the Walmart website. When Kaiyido Revoltech solicited their first Marvel comics-based figure almost four years ago (Deadpool), I wondered if the market really had space for another expensive 6” Marvel figures series. The answer was clearly “yes”, as Kaiyodo has been expanding the range each year since, and has given us more X-Men characters than any other import line. And this year, Deadpool is getting a friend and the X-family will be growing further when the Revoltech Cable figure arrives!

When Diamond Select Toys debuted their humongous Archangel statue at NYCC 2019 last October, I had my doubts they could keep it below the usual $199 Premier Collection price-point regardless of what the placard said at the event. And I was right, as Warren is actually priced at a surprising $399 MSRP! Thankfully, EE has the Marvel Premier Collection marked down a more $319 shipped for pre-orders. From Jubilee and Boom Boom to Beast and Gambit, Hasbro fulfilled a record number of X-Men collectors’ dreams in 2019. And I’ve got one more left to talk about–of a figure I’ve been wanting for 27 years! The X-Men Arcade Game hit arcades in 1992, featuring five of the most iconic team members ever… and Dazzler! Alison Blaire was my go-to character in that game, and I’ve wanted a good action figure of her in that 80s costume practically all my life. I happily paid full price for her this summer, but the Marvel Legends Vintage Dazzler figure is 10 bucks online today–should you get one?

While Sideshow Collectibles’ Marvel sixth scale figures line got off to a rocky start with a 1/6 Deadpool that’s still available over half a decade after going up for sale (seriously), the figures that came after him sold much better—including the Brown Costume Wolverine that swiftly sold out and escalated in value on the aftermarket. Turns out demand for Logan wasn’t met, many collectors cried out for more, and here he is: the 1/6 Sideshow Wolverine Tiger Stripe figure is now up for order!
