At this point it feels like there are about a million Hot Toys Iron Man sixth scale figures out there, but there’s no Iron Man Hot Toys figure that’s been more in-demand and clamored for by fans than a re-release of the Iron Man Mark III from the original 2008 “Iron Man” film. No matter how many more armors come down the pike, the Mark III Iron Man is considered by the majority to be the definitive Iron Man armor. Well, here’s a teaser that I’d be willing to bet nobody saw coming. With San Diego Comic-Con 2014 set to begin in just another day, Hot Toys is still sending out preview images to whet collectors’ appetites. And while many of these SDCC 2014 previews have been fairly typical stuff like new Marvel Hot Toys figures and accessories, Hot Toys hit us with something really out of the blue today.

We won’t know the details until the con opens, but apparently a high-end Hot Toys SHIELD Helicarrier vehicle model is on the way!

I love Hot Toys; I love Iron Man 3. Ergo, I typically have no problem whatsoever with Hot Toys milking the Iron Man 3 license and sucking our wallets dry. That said, even I had to furrow my brow today–just a little bit–when Hot Toys announced an all-new Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Hall of Armor House Party Protocol Version diorama! You’ll be able to build your own Iron Man 3-style Hall of Armor, and the price is supposed to be affordable, but, well… the quality of this new House Party Protocol Hall of Armor definitely remains to be seen…

Last month Hot Toys released a teaser poster, giving us our first look at the Hot Toys 2014 Toy Fairs Exclusive figures–including (as expected) another Iron Man figure from Iron Man 3. I wrote about two-thirds of an article overnight discussing what I thought the exclusive was going to be and why based off of the teaser photo, but then Hot Toys had to go and spoil the whole thing by doing a full reveal the next morning. Well, I’m just full of “wrong” lately. With under a week until the beginning of San Diego Comic Con 2014, I had truly figured that Hot Toys would hold off on debuting any new Movie Masterpiece Series figures–particularly the Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy figures–so that they’d be able to premiere them at SDCC 2014. Evidently, Hot Toys figured otherwise. But I’m glad they did, because the first Guardians of the Galaxy Hot Toys figure unveiled is the one I wanted to see most–the MMS 252 Hot Toys Rocket Raccoon figure is now up for order!

Hot Toys announced in July 2013–close to a full year ago–that they had obtained the license to make Guardians of the Galaxy Hot Toys sixth scale figures. So it’s not exactly an unexpected development that Hot Toys has revealed their first photo of the impending Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy 1/6 line of Movie Masterpiece Series figures (what with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie hitting theaters in under two months and all). What is a twist, however, is exactly what Hot Toys has unveiled–prototypes for all five members of the Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy figures!

I was legitimately more excited for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie than any other movie coming out this year that doesn’t have a talking raccoon in it. A month ago, Hot Toys could have sold me pretty much anything with an Amazing Spider-Man 2 logo on it. Then I actually saw the Amazing Spider-Man 2, and I became a whole lot more selective about what I’d buy from that movie. Whatever 1/6 figures Hot Toys produced from the movie would have to be really excellent to get my attention. And as it so happens, the Hot Toys Electro figure that is now up for order looks downright awesome…

While it initially looked like The Falcon was going to get a bit of a bum deal when it came to Captain America The Winter Soldier toys, things have turned out pretty smashing for ol’ Sam Wilson in the end. While a Marvel Legends Falcon figure doesn’t seem to be in the cards, there’s an outstanding Marvel Select Falcon figure, a fun Marvel Minimates Falcon, and even a halfway decent 4″ Falcon Hasbro figure. But now the crown jewel of any Falcon collection has been fully revealed and is ready to claim its rightful spot atop the mountain–the Hot Toys Falcon figure is now up for order!

It seems like everything that Hot Toys produces turns to gold, but even the best companies have a dud sometimes. I was certain the Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Busts Series 1 set was going to flop with the mini-bust market being all but dead in 2014.

To my amazement, not only is the bust line continuing, but I like the second series a whole lot more than the first! Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Busts Series 2 is now up for order!
