Hasbro knows right where to hit old-timers like me with the nostalgic feels. A Marvel Legends Secret Wars Retro series of figures has been widely rumored all year to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the event, and at PulseCon 2024 last week, Hasbro confirmed it: Marvel Legends Secret Wars Wolverine, Symbiote Spider-Man, The Beyonder, Titania and more are now up for order!

It’s been a pretty good year for the Phoenix entity, first getting an origin in the X-Men comics and then the first-ever ongoing Phoenix ongoing comic book series launching this week. But that’s not the only Jean Grey milestone this week! For the first time in many years, Hasbro has a new (not Dark) Marvel Legends Phoenix figure up for order—and it’s a deluxe release with a huge fiery Phoenix Force entity effect base! There’s no doubt that Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men comic books run was a watershed moment for the merry mutants, and John Cassaday’s costume designs for the x-Men have had enduring popularity as a result. So even though Toybiz released a very nice Astonishing Wolverine in 2005, it’s no shocker to see Hasbro upgrading that iteration of Logan in the 85th Anniversary Marvel Legends series during Wolverine’s own 50th anniversary. Nothing makes you feel old quite the same as realizing a comic book character who’s still “brand new” in your mind is actually 17 years old now. Such is the case with the deluxe Marvel Legends Skaar figure that’s up for pre-order today, exclusively via fan channel outlets (no Target or Walmart, sorry)!
