The Funko Mystery Minis figures blind boxes have taken the world by storm, and are quickly approaching the level of popularity of their Funko POP Vinyls brethren. And with Funko, that level of success can mean only one thing: exclusives!

And so, Walgreens stores are receiving special cases of the Captain America Civil War Mystery Minis series, containing one of each of three exclusive variants. Sometimes there are 100% new molded characters in the exclusive remixes of various Mystery Minis cases that select retailers get (such as Kakashi, Killer Croc, Meeko and more).

Thankfully, that’s not the case here. So if you’re okay without having every special variant, you may be able to pass on searching for the Walgreens exclusives completely this time.

Walgreens Civil War Mystery Minis Unmasked Black Panther FigureThe three Civil War Walgreens exclusive Mystery Minis are: Unmasked Black Panther, Partially Phasing Vision and Battle-Damaged Crossbones. Each of these figures replaces the regular version of the character in the Walgreens cases, and is packed at one per case of twelve blind boxes.

Walgreens Exclusive Crossbones Mystery Minis FigureThe case layout for a full, unshuffled Walgreens Civil War Mystery Minis case is below. Keep in mind that each case has six blind boxes on two levels.

As you can see, the characters are laid out identically in the bottom level of the mass retail and exclusive cases (although obviously with a regular Vision in one version and a Vision variant in the other version).

It’s also worth checking out the awesome Ant-Man Mystery Minis figure, which was not shown off in the initial images that Funko was allowed to show when they first debuted the figures in these series. Disney still had a stick up its rump about revealing that Ant-Man was in the Civil War movie at all at that time, for some crazy reason.

It’s nice to finally see the new Mystery Minis Ant-Man Civil War figure, though–it’s one of the best figures in the series!

Walgreens Phasing Vision Mystery Minis Exclusive FigureIf you find a case at your local store that’s missing blind boxes from it or looks like it’s been tampered with, then this case layout is obviously going to be less useful. Use with caution in those instances. I’ll post future Marvel Mystery Minis here as well, so be sure to follow the Marvel Toy News Twitter and Facebook Pages if you want alerts sent to your newsfeeds when the newest Funko case layouts are posted.

What do you think of the Captain America Civil War exclusive Mystery Minis, Funko collectors? Are you planning to go in search of unmasked Black Panther and friends, or are these variants not compelling enough to get you to set foot inside a Walgreens store?

  1. Hi,

I have seen another unboxing layout pretty different from yours where the iron man and hawkeye are switched as compared to yours.

Is there anyway to verify which is right?

    • I’m not sure what you mean. Both of the case layouts shown here are correct and verified. It’s not impossible that another production batch coming out of a different factory goofed and has the boxes for Hawkeye and Iron Man swapped around in the case, but that would just be another permutation of the case, in which there were two slightly different correct layouts.
