SH Figuarts Iron Man Mark VI & War Machine Figures Released!

S.H. Figuarts War Machine Figure Bandai 2013 Iron Man 2

Supposedly “it’s better late than never”, but I feel like that expression is getting stretched just a little bit by the new Marvel figures just released by Bandai. While the rest of the toy companies of the world have rushed to flood the market with figures and products from the 2013 summer blockbuster “Iron Man 3” movie, Bandai is countering with two all-new figures based on “Iron Man 2”! Yeah, as in, “The Iron Man movie from 2010”. But hey, even if the figures are a little late, at least Bandai is bringing something rockin’ to the table–the S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark VI and War Machine figures!

Hot Toys Hulk Movie Masterpiece Figure with Box Avengers 2013

They say that good things come to those who wait. Well, Hot Toys Avengers figure collectors haven’t exactly but waiting patiently, but they have been waiting, and that wait is about to be rewarded by Hot Toys: the Avengers Hot Toys Hulk Movie Masterpiece figure is now confirmed to be released this summer! And because the folks at Hot Toys love us (and the monumental amount of money we give them), they also gave us our first look at the Hulk Hot Toys box and even a scale comparison reference for the Hot Toys Avengers Hulk figure…

Gold Ultron Marvel Legends Iron Man 3 Figure From Age of Ultron

In 2013, we get so few Marvel Legends 6″ action figures from Hasbro, even the smallest variant released ends up feeling like a big deal. Case in point? The newest Iron Man 3 Marvel Legends figure to have leaked photos show up online: a gold Ultron variant of the silver Ultron from Iron Man Legends Series 2! People were really excited for the standard new Ultron figure in that series, so everybody is super excited about this new gold version of Ultron as well… right?

Iron Man Mark VII Hot Toys Avengers Movie Masterpiece Figure in Packaging

The Battle for New York seen in last year’s “The Avengers” movie is nothing compared to the war that Hot Toys is waging on Hot Toys Avengers and Iron Man collectors this spring! After a somewhat light fall and winter, Avengers Hot Toys figures like Black Widow, Thor, and Agent Coulson have been released one after the next. And things are about to get even more expensive for Iron Man Hot Toys fans, as the long-awaited Avengers Hot Toys Iron Man Mark VII Movie Masterpiece Series figure has now been released overseas!

X-Men Hot Toys Wolverine The Last Stand Box

There hasn’t been a whole lot of X-Men toy news to report lately (as in none), but one of the rarest of all branches of X-Men merchandise had a new figure finally arrive after being on pre-order for way over a year: it’s the X-Men Hot Toys Wolverine Figure based on Wolverine’s appearance in “X-Men: The Last Stand”. This Wolverine Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece just arrived in Asia earlier this month, and it has made its way to the United States at lightning-fast speed, where pre-orders are now starting to be received by happy collectors!

Deadpool Corps Marvel Universe Figures Team Pack Revealed & Photos!

Marvel Universe Deadpool Corps Dogpool Figure

Over the last year or two, the Hasbro Marvel Universe line has really slowed down a near-grinding halt. With only a handful of new Marvel Universe action figures coming out each year, Marvel collectors long for the days of yesteryear when it seemed like there were new Marvel Universe 3.75″ figures on the pegs every month.

While the line isn’t expected to pick up speed again anytime soon (if ever), prototypes have been found of at least one new Marvel Universe 2013 Team Pack to get excited about: the Marvel Universe Deadpool Corps figures!

Hot Toys Loki Figure Unboxing Photos & Impressions!

Slipcover being removed from Avengers Hot Toys Loki Box

They say you never forget your first time getting a Hot Toys figure. Well, this is my first time, and I know it’s going to be unforgettable, because the Hot Toys sixth-scale figure that I’ve received first (I have about a dozen on pre-order) is one that I’ve been waiting literally an entire year for: the Hot Toys Avengers Loki figure! It was their reveal of Hot Toys Loki that really hooked me as a future Hot Toys collector, and he’s finally arrived! While I don’t have time to fully open and display the Hot Toys Loki 1/6 scale figure in all his splendor today, I did take the opportunity to take an extensive number of unboxing photos….

Avengers Hot Toys Agent Phil Coulson Sixth-Scale Figure Released!

Avengers Hot Toys Coulson SHIELD Agent Figure Holding Giant Gun

I don’t think it would be a stretch–at all–to say that Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of the biggest break-out stars of last year’s blockbuster “The Avengers” movie. Everybody knew who Iron Man and Hulk and Thor were going into “The Avengers”, but fans left theaters talking about the previously D-List character SHIELD Agent Coulson. That’s why it wasn’t all that shocking when Hot Toys announced an Avengers Hot Toys Agent Coulson sixth-scale figure last summer. And finally, after the usual lengthy wait for a spectacular Hot Toys 1/6th scale figure, Agent Coulson arrived overseas this week…

Marvel Minimates Iron Man 3 Figures Series Released

We only saw Diamond Select Toys unveil the full Iron Man 3 Minimates series in full last month, but the series has now arrived in comic book stores (slightly after the Iron Man 3 movie)! While I came out short in my quest for the Toys R Us exclusive Iron Man 3 Minimates figures two-packs, I did manage to see the entirety of the rest of the series–including the specialty shop exclusives–at my local comic book store…

Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Iron Man Silver Centurion Armor Announcement

Hot Toys sent along an assortment of their upcoming Hot Toys Iron Man 3 figures and collectibles to this weekend’s Disney Toy Collectors’ Forum Exhibition in Shangai. All of the figures and news that Hot Toys brought to the event are things that we’ve already seen or known about, except with one key exception. At the event, Hot Toys displayed a slide of upcoming Iron Man 3 Hot Toys figures, including the Iron Man Heartbreaker Armor, The Mandarin, the Iron Man Igor Armor, and… the first confirmation of a Hot Toys Iron Man Silver Centurion figure!

Wolverine Movie Action Figures by Hasbro Revealed!

Hasbro The Wolverine Movie Silver Samurai Action Figure

Iron Man 3 has been “the next big Marvel movie” for so long that it’s hard to reconcile that the movie is out in theaters now, and the true next big Marvel movie is “The Wolverine”, opening July 26th, 2013! Don’t get me wrong–“The Wolverine” is going to do fairly well at the box office, but it’s not going to gross nearly as much as “Iron Man 3”, nor is it going to have a fraction of the breadth and depth of the various toy lines merchandising Iron Man 3. Even so, Hasbro is putting out some The Wolverine figures to commemorate the movie. But having seen the prototypes now, I kind of wish they weren’t…

Funko Marvel Red Hulk POP! Vinyl Figure Announced!

Funko Red Hulk Marvel POP Vinyl Figure

You might think that there’s no room in my collection for anything else with all the statues, sixth-scale figures, building sets, action figures, plush toys, mini-busts, and staction figures that I buy. But actually, there’s one other brand of collecting that I’m big into: vinyl figures. I own hundreds of Disney vinyl figurines (in fact, I have a whole Vinylmation website), but I also have a couple Marvel vinyl figures. I only have a few Funko Marvel POP! Vinyls because they’ve been pretty hit-or-miss, but sometimes Funko puts out a gamma-charged blockbuster. Case in point: the just-announced Funko! Marvel Red Hulk POP! Vinyl figure…

2013 Marvel Legends Series 2 Case Assortment Revealed & Order Info

Posted on by May 9, 2013
2013 Marvel Legends Classic Hawkeye Action Figure

Ever since Hasbro Marvel Legends Series 5 was announced at Toy Fair (2013 Marvel Legends Series 2), I’ve been intrigued about how Hasbro was going to determine the case-pack. Counting variants, there are 9 different figures in the series, so it was entirely possible we’d get Marvel Legends cases with up to 8 different new figures in them. Today, all that guessing came to an end, as retailers were officially allowed to reveal the Marvel Legends 2013 Wave 2 case ratios. And, well.. the case assortment is pretty terrible…

Iron Man 3 Hot Toys War Machine Mark 2 Diecast Special Edition

Do you love the Iron Patriot armor from Iron Man 3, but wish it was available in a “less patriotic” and “more grey” color scheme? Do you prefer the limited Hot Toys Special Edition sixth-scale figures with extra stuff to the mass release versions? Do you have ambitions of collecting a small armada of little holographic Iron Man armors? If you’ve answered “yes” to these questions, Hot Toys has just the thing for you: the Hot Toys Iron Man 3 War Machine Mark 2 Special Edition with bonus War Machine Mark I holographic figure is now available…

Marvel Select Nightcrawler Action Figure Review

Posted on by May 6, 2013
DST Nightcrawler Figure At the Circus

Nightcrawler has a special place in my heart, as the Toybiz X-Men Nightcrawler Series 1 figure was the first X-Men action figure I ever bought (of hundreds). These days, Nightcrawler doesn’t get too much love from toy companies (what with being dead and all). I recently gave up my unwarranted avoidance of Marvel Select figures, so when the Marvel Select Nightcrawler figure released this week, he was a must-buy for me. And while Nightcrawler turns out to be my least-favorite Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select figure I’ve bought so far, I still think he’s worth picking up…
