If there’s one Marvel character (not named Iron Man) that’s getting plenty of merchandising love in 2013, it’s Deadpool. Funko has been particularly infatuated with Deadpool this year, as so far they have released seven variants of the Funko Deadpool POP! Vinyl figure already. And hey, once there’s that many variants, might as well throw in another and make it an even eight, right?

Another day, another San Diego Comic-Con 2013 exclusive announced! Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl collectors have really dodged a bullet this time, as it briefly appeared that one of the most wanted Marvel Movie POP! Vinyl figures ever was going to be an overseas exclusive not available in America at all.
Luckily, word has now come out that the hotly anticipated Funko POP Iron Man 3 Mark 42 Unmasked Tony Stark figure will also be available next month as a SDCC 2013 exclusive!

I thought that we were done with Marvel SDCC 2013 exclusive announcements for the week, but clearly Diamond Select Toys had other ideas! There’s not usually a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Marvel Select action figure, so I wasn’t expecting to see a SDCC Marvel Select Exclusive–and there’s not one. What we do always get like clockwork for Comic-Con season is exclusive Marvel Minimates, though–and the first such set for this year has been revealed: the SDCC 2013 Exclusive Wolverine Saga Minimates box set!

Marvel Hot Toys figure news has slowed down to a trickle as we wait with bated breath and anticipation for next month’s San Diego Comic-Con 2013! Hasbro might have thought they were fooling someone by releasing information on all of the Hasbro San Diego Comic-Con exclusives yesterday except one, but their attempted surprise was more than a little spoiled by the fact that we had already seen and reported on the Marvel Universe Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Dogpool, and Championpool figures last week.

Supposedly “it’s better late than never”, but I feel like that expression is getting stretched just a little bit by the new Marvel figures just released by Bandai. While the rest of the toy companies of the world have rushed to flood the market with figures and products from the 2013 summer blockbuster “Iron Man 3” movie, Bandai is countering with two all-new figures based on “Iron Man 2”! Yeah, as in, “The Iron Man movie from 2010”. But hey, even if the figures are a little late, at least Bandai is bringing something rockin’ to the table–the S.H. In 2013, we get so few Marvel Legends 6″ action figures from Hasbro, even the smallest variant released ends up feeling like a big deal. Case in point? The newest Iron Man 3 Marvel Legends figure to have leaked photos show up online: a gold Ultron variant of the silver Ultron from Iron Man Legends Series 2! There hasn’t been a whole lot of X-Men toy news to report lately (as in none), but one of the rarest of all branches of X-Men merchandise had a new figure finally arrive after being on pre-order for way over a year: it’s the X-Men Hot Toys Wolverine Figure based on Wolverine’s appearance in “X-Men: The Last Stand”. This Wolverine Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece just arrived in Asia earlier this month, and it has made its way to the United States at lightning-fast speed, where pre-orders are now starting to be received by happy collectors!

Over the last year or two, the Hasbro Marvel Universe line has really slowed down a near-grinding halt. With only a handful of new Marvel Universe action figures coming out each year, Marvel collectors long for the days of yesteryear when it seemed like there were new Marvel Universe 3.75″ figures on the pegs every month.
While the line isn’t expected to pick up speed again anytime soon (if ever), prototypes have been found of at least one new Marvel Universe 2013 Team Pack to get excited about: the Marvel Universe Deadpool Corps figures!

They say you never forget your first time getting a Hot Toys figure. Well, this is my first time, and I know it’s going to be unforgettable, because the Hot Toys sixth-scale figure that I’ve received first (I have about a dozen on pre-order) is one that I’ve been waiting literally an entire year for: the Hot Toys Avengers Loki figure! It was their reveal of Hot Toys Loki that really hooked me as a future Hot Toys collector, and he’s finally arrived!
