The clock is running out on 2019, and with the 2020 waves just around the corner, there are going to be a multitude of this year’s Marvel Legends action figures that I just never get around to reviewing. But one of those neglected figures won’t be Beta Ray Bill! By special request from MTN followers on social media, I dug out Thor’s hammer-brother and gave him a second look! Marvel Legends Beta Ray Bill is available discounted online now–should you be giving him another look as well?

Turns out demand for Logan wasn’t met, many collectors cried out for more, and here he is: the 1/6 Sideshow Wolverine Tiger Stripe figure is now up for order!

But all is not lost for X-Men fans with smaller display areas (or smaller credit limits)! Iron Studios had a plan for those collectors as well, and after a few weeks of slowly rolling them out, affordably-priced Iron Studios Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast and Rogue statues are all up for order individually! If you can’t have these with the massive Sentinel diorama, are worth the investment?
Continue Reading →Back in October, collectors got their first taste of what Pop Culture Shock (PCS) Collectibles can do with their magnificent (and incredibly expensive) 1:3 Spider-Man PS4 resin statue. As gorgeous as that piece is (and it is gorgeous), it’s also out of the price range of 95%+ of collectors. But PCS also had a few affordable buns in the oven: super cheap GamerVerse Spider-Man & Rhino PVC statues are now up for pre-order! And that’s not all—value-priced PVCs of other members of the Sinister Six are seemingly on the way as well…

Collectors have been calling out for Diamond Select Toys to make a movie Thanos action figure since long before Avengers Infinity War ever came out—and now, they’ve got their wish: Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select Thanos, Captain Marvel and Hulk figures are now up for order!

Do these have any advantages over the Hasbro Marvel Legends versions? Let’s take a look…
Continue Reading →Thought the Marvel Legends 2020 figure reveals were over until after the holidays…? Think again! Hasbro continued their world tour this weekend at the Germany Dortmund Comic-Con, where they revealed two new exclusives that cover somewhere between 2 and 6 characters depending on how you count! Not only is a Retro Storm in Black Costume 6″ figure now up for order, but Hasbro also revealed the widely-rumored Walgreens Exclusive Marvel Legends Stepford Cuckoos figure! The only question for Cuckoos fans is: how many will you need to be satisfied? One, 3 for the Three-In-One… or going all out with 5 for the Five-In-One?
Continue Reading →The popular new joke this year between Hot Toys collectors is that Spider-Man is the new Iron Man, playing off the fact that we’re used to getting many 1/6 Iron Man armors per year and now we’re getting multiple new Spider-Man costumes instead (what with Tony Stark dead now in the MCU and all). But this time out–Spider-Man actually is a new Iron Man armor: the Hot Toys Iron Spider sixth scale figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →The bad news this week for much of the United States was that we got blasted with the most major winter storm so far this year and had to dig ourselves out. The good news is that I finally got snow for the first time this year in my neck of the woods (16” of it, to be exact!), which meant that at long last I could take a certain X-Men Legends 6” figure for outdoor review photos! The Marvel Legends Iceman Vintage series figure is already down to 13 bucks shipped just a few months after being released, but is this Bobby Drake figure really all that bad…?
Continue Reading →Peter David’s X-Factor run in the 90s is one of the touchstone comic book series of my childhood, but also featured a team roster I never dared dream we’d see released in full as action figures. But we found out that Hasbro’s current golden age of Marvel Legends would continue to deliver dreams in a huge way this fall, and the shared exclusive Marvel Legends Havok & Polaris two-pack is now (free) shipping! Were these 6” figures of 90s X-Factor’s power couple worth waiting two decades for?
Continue Reading →SH Figuarts collectors who have been waiting patiently (or impatiently!) to order the hotly-demanded Avengers Endgame Final Battle SH Figuarts figures need not wait anymore–all three figures are now up for order in the United States with free shipping!
Continue Reading →Begun, the Carnage wars have! Carnage has long been one of the most popular and recognizable villains in comic books, and over the last couple years we’ve gotten new collectibles of the serial-killing symbiote from almost every major company. And so it should come as no shock that another company is now ready to enter the ring: the import Medicom MAFEX Carnage figure is now up for order! With so much competition out there, can the Carnage MAFEX really stand out…?
Continue Reading →Amazon caught everyone off-guard when they began charging for and shipping out their exclusive Marvel Legends Alpha Flight figures box set ahead of the original December release date. I posted my unboxing photos and first impressions of the team last week, and now I’ve had some time to play around with them and really absorb what this ML Alpha Flight set has to offer (and also what it fails to offer). For those still on the fence, is this $100+ set worth scooping up? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →Earlier this month I talked about the singular most expensive Marvel purchase I’ve ever made: the massive Sideshow Juggernaut Maquette. But for those who aren’t loco like me and willing to drop 1.3 grand on a statue, there’s a Juggs for you too: the Diamond Select Marvel Premier Collection Juggernaut Statue is now up for order for just over 200 bucks shipped! But that’s not all—this month’s solicits have also brought us a Marvel Gallery Weapon X, Skottie Young Elektra, GOTG Minimates—and even a 1:2 bust of The Mandalorian!
Continue Reading →I’ll be filling in as many blanks as possible in my 2019 Marvel Legends reviews over the course of the next month and a half, and but today I paused that track to do an unboxing that will eventually lead to six reviews in one later this week! It was a spectacular surprise when Hasbro solicited the exclusive Marvel Legends Alpha Flight figures set in late summer, and they have now actually shipped and arrived on doorsteps a few weeks earlier than planned! How’d the set turn out? Here’s my impressions…
