Diamond Select Toys has come out strong over the last several weeks, with what seems like a new Marvel Select figure being released in stores every other week! Last month it was the exceptional Psylocke Select figure and a comic-based Sandman I think is pretty underrated. And now, the Marvel Select Captain Marvel figure in her Starforce uniform is starting to ship out via online and comic book stores! The Fantastic Four has basically been a “nuclear” property merch-wise for quite a few years now, with very little in the way of toys and statues being released aside from a few retailer exclusive Marvel Legends. But it appears that the floodgates have now been opened, and Funko is rushing in to capitalize with a massive number of new related F4 figures: the Funko Fantastic Four POP Vinyls and Mystery Minis are now up for order, including the whole team, Doom, Galactus and more!

Hasbro has been on an unprecedented run with their Marvel Legends line lately, giving collectors many upgraded figures they’ve been waiting 5, 10, or even 15+ years for. X-Men Dark Phoenix ended up being a catastrophe at the box office, but by the time merchandisers knew that for absolute certain, there were already quite a few collectibles for the character in the pipeline. Luckily, even if the movie was a total dud, Dark Phoenix toys are almost always popular. One of the dumbest things I ever did as a Funko POP Vinyls collector was sell a bunch of my rare and limited figures for peanuts in 2014 when I wrongly thought the Funko bubble was due to burst. It’s half a decade later and POPs are as hot as ever so clearly I was wrong. One vinyl I foolishly sold for 20 bucks was the ECCC 2013 green Phoenix exclusive, which I’ve never had the willpower to rebuy for hundreds of dollars.
