While Diamond Select Toys brought along a sizable assortment of all new Marvel Gallery statues to premiere at New York Toy Fair for PVC collectors, that doesn’t mean they were ignoring their fans of higher-end resin pieces! DST also publicly displayed a half-dozen new resin Marvel Premier Collection statues at Toy Fair 2020, including Rhino, Bullseye, movie Deadpool, Colossus, Old Man Logan and more! In a world where most resin statue prices are exploding, are these new value-priced entries worth a look when they go up for order this year?

Last week I talked about the new VS Series of PVCs with thematically matching bases, but that’s not all the Marvel Gallery goodness that Diamond Select Toys had to show off at New York Toy Fair 2020! Alongside the new Marvel Gallery Agent Venom and Rocket Raccoon statues that launched Toy Fair week, there were an additional half-dozen new traditional PVC statues shown– including a new Spider-Gwen, Storm, Taskmaster, Bishop, Nova and more!

If you missed out on last year’s blue Beast or were disappointed he came without a friendlier alternate head (or other accessories), then this may be for you: the Retro X-Men Marvel Legends Grey Beast figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →I’m back from New York City, so now it’s time to start digging deep with my Toy Fair 2020 coverage! While I talked about and gave impressions of the Avengers and X-Men Legends waves that launched for pre-orders over the weekend, Hasbro brought plenty more goodness to show at the event–including long-awaited Marvel Legends Nimrod and Old Man Logan figures, along with Old Man Hawkeye, new versions of Rogue and Storm, and more!
Continue Reading →While there were a “few” leaks prior to New York Toy Fair 2020 that threw a monkey wrench into some of Hasbro’s big announcements at the show, Hasbro was still able to surprise fans with a multitude of totally unexpected reveals—including new releases for movies fans haven’t seen toys for in close to two decades! Going up for order later this year, it’s Marvel Legends X-Men and Deadpool figures based on the FOX movies! Professor X, Wolverine, Mystique, Magneto, Cable and more! And did someone say: “pinless joints”?!
Continue Reading →Even though the full lineup of single-packed 2020 Marvel Legends X-Men Age of Apocalypse figures has been known since last fall, Hasbro has kept a tight lid on the identity of the Sugar Man Build-A-Figure for months so that a grandiose reveal could occur… the night before Toy Fair 2020 on the Walmart website. Whoops!! But regardless, the time has come for Marvel Legends Age of Apocalypse pre-orders! Solo links for every figure are below:

The answer was clearly “yes”, as Kaiyodo has been expanding the range each year since, and has given us more X-Men characters than any other import line. And this year, Deadpool is getting a friend and the X-family will be growing further when the Revoltech Cable figure arrives!

And I was right, as Warren is actually priced at a surprising $399 MSRP! Thankfully, EE has the Marvel Premier Collection marked down a more $319 shipped for pre-orders. But that wasn’t the only surprise in the new solicits—a Marvel Select Taskmaster movie figure is also on the way!

It’s actually taken a surprisingly long time to get to the 90s Jim Lee power couple, but the wait is over at last: Funko POP Rogue and Gambit figures are finally up for order—including an EE Exclusive Glow in the Dark Gambit POP!
Continue Reading →From Jubilee and Boom Boom to Beast and Gambit, Hasbro fulfilled a record number of X-Men collectors’ dreams in 2019. And I’ve got one more left to talk about–of a figure I’ve been wanting for 27 years! The X-Men Arcade Game hit arcades in 1992, featuring five of the most iconic team members ever… and Dazzler! Alison Blaire was my go-to character in that game, and I’ve wanted a good action figure of her in that 80s costume practically all my life. I happily paid full price for her this summer, but the Marvel Legends Vintage Dazzler figure is 10 bucks online today–should you get one?
Continue Reading →Diamond Select Toys’ various Marvel statue lines are the gift that keeps on giving all year round for value-priced statue fans, and it’s no surprise that they’ve got another four items lined up for us to close out their 2019 solicitations! This quartet is mainly aimed at X-Men fans, but there’s some Avengers love as well: the Marvel Gallery Longshot and Emma Frost, Premier Collection Black Panther statue Animated Jean Grey bust are all up for order now! Is DST ending the year on a high note?
Continue Reading →It’s another slow Marvel toy news day as we tick down the clock to the end of 2019, so let’s dip pack into the cache of figures needing reviews again! This time, let’s have a look at the final figure I needed to review from the X-Men Legends Caliban Series. Believe it or not, this Marvel Legends Forge figure (who’s available online now at a decent discount) isn’t Hasbro’s first attempt at the character—they did him themselves a decade ago in this same costume! Is the second time for the Maker the charm…?
Continue Reading →Hasbro has been doling out fan service like never before to X-Men collectors over the course of 2019, including new versions of some of the most requested characters such as Beast, Jubilee, Dani Moonstar and Professor X. But perhaps the singular most exciting 6” X-Men Legends action figure of the year for most fans was an updated version of the Ragin’ Cajun himself! Hasbro double-packed the new Marvel Legends Gambit so he’d be readily and affordably available to everyone—but is this long-awaited Jim Lee Gambit 90s figure up to snuff?
Continue Reading →While Sideshow Collectibles’ Marvel sixth scale figures line got off to a rocky start with a 1/6 Deadpool that’s still available over half a decade after going up for sale (seriously), the figures that came after him sold much better—including the Brown Costume Wolverine that swiftly sold out and escalated in value on the aftermarket. Turns out demand for Logan wasn’t met, many collectors cried out for more, and here he is: the 1/6 Sideshow Wolverine Tiger Stripe figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →Last month, Iron Studios debuted their mind-blowingly X-Men vs. Sentinel statue that, while amazing, 99%+ of collectors could (or would) never, ever pay ~$1800 for. But all is not lost for X-Men fans with smaller display areas (or smaller credit limits)! Iron Studios had a plan for those collectors as well, and after a few weeks of slowly rolling them out, affordably-priced Iron Studios Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast and Rogue statues are all up for order individually! If you can’t have these with the massive Sentinel diorama, are worth the investment?
