Back in July during SDCC 2013, photos leaked out of a pair of hitherto-unannounced Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl figures: a Peter Parker POP Vinyl and a Compound Hulk POP Vinyl. We’ve gone a while with nary a word about either figure, but since both are mere repaints, it was always pretty certain that they would turn up eventually–and now, the first one has! We’ve known that Funko was planning a series of Thor The Dark World POP! Vinyls figures for a while now, but Funko has shrouded images of the figures in secrecy. They weren’t shown at San Diego Comic 2013, and we didn’t even know the full character assortment–until now!

I might have an obsession. See, once Marvel officially announced the SDCC 2013 Exclusive Funko Metallic Red Hulk POP! Vinyl figure, I became pretty fixated and seeing what they’d do to the most huggable of the Hulks. But the image Disney/Marvel sent out with the press release was just a photo of the plain Red Hulk. Thus, for the last week-plus I have been a man on a mission, with my quest being to find photographic evident of the actual Metallic Red Hulk SDCC Exclusive figure. If you read my blogs regularly, you know I’m majorly obsessive compulsive–especially when it comes to toys. It’s for that reason that I don’t buy a lot of Marvel Funko POP! Vinyls, even though I love vinyl figures and the designs that Funko comes up with. The paint apps quality control on Funko POP! Vinyls can be very hit or miss, so rather than make myself nuts, I’ll often stay away from characters I can pass on. This Inverse Deadpool Exclusive, however, was not a figure I could easily skip. Earlier this month, I posted an article about the surprise reveal of a Marvel Funko POP! Tony Stark vinyl figure being released as an exclusive at the Philippine Toy Con 2013, as well as at SDCC 2013. If there’s one Marvel character (not named Iron Man) that’s getting plenty of merchandising love in 2013, it’s Deadpool. Funko has been particularly infatuated with Deadpool this year, as so far they have released seven variants of the Funko Deadpool POP! Vinyl figure already. Another day, another San Diego Comic-Con 2013 exclusive announced! Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl collectors have really dodged a bullet this time, as it briefly appeared that one of the most wanted Marvel Movie POP! Vinyl figures ever was going to be an overseas exclusive not available in America at all.
