This week has been perhaps the busiest and the most loaded-down with hotly-anticipated new Marvel you announcements of any week I can recall. But while the past days have been absolutely bursting with hugely-popular new collectibles, one item in particular seems to be getting a bad rap and loads of criticism all-around. The Marvel Select Avengers Age of Ultron Hulk has been up for order for a while, but was only revealed this week. Is this upcoming figure really worth all the negativity being directed at it?

Word leaked out to me a few weeks ago that Funko was planning to celebrate the most marketable “new” character in the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie–Hulkbuster Iron Man–in a big way. When photos popped up this week of almost every other announced figure however, I assumed Funko was holding onto this as a big Toy Fair 2015 reveal. I assumed wrong: the 6″ Funko Hulkbuster Iron Man POP Vinyls figure has now been revealed!

We’ve known for a while now that Diamond Select Toys would only be releasing a trio of Marvel Select Avengers Age of Ultron figures, with two of the figures being a repainted movie Marvel Select Thor and a retooled movie Marvel Select Hulk–but what we didn’t know was the identity of the third and final figure… until now. Last week, rumors began to circulate that at least one Marvel Legends Ant-Man figure is in the pipeline and will be released at Target stores later this year. Marvel Super Hero Mashers and I got off to a rocky start, as I legitimately thought that the line was a joke when I heard about it–and when I found out the figures were actually real, I thought they were even more ridiculous. But when I get the Marvel Mashers Deadpool figure last summer, Hasbro won me over with the stylized, well-articulated, reasonably-priced Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures. And the successful line will be expanding even further in 2015, with a whole assortment of Avengers Age of Ultron Mashers–including the first Marvel Mashers Vision and Ultron figures!
