Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2015 Infinite Series 6 Inch Figures

It seems like only yesterday I was predicting a late release for the Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2015 figures (because it was), but in the last 24 hours the gears have finally begun moving on this year’s Marvel Legends train: the Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2015 figures are now up for order! The case ratios for the series aren’t bad, necessarily, but for once, I actually wanted Hasbro to heavy-pack a Spider-Man figure, and of course, they did not…

2015 Marvel Legends Avengers Figures Case Ratios

There hasn’t been a non-exclusive Marvel Legends action figure released since last summer, and the natives are starting to get restless! While factory samples of the 2015 Marvel Legends Avengers figures slipped out a month ago, there was no official word from Hasbro that retailers could begin taking pre-orders–much less an actual release date. But thankfully, relief is finally in sight: the Avengers Marvel Legends 2015 Infinite Series figures are now up for order!

Hasbro Marvel Universe 2015 Sandman Figure Packaged

Hasbro is obviously very high on their new 2.5″ scale of Marvel action figures, as evidenced by the fact that it was the main scale for their Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron movie toys. But even though Hasbro is enamored with this new, smaller scale, that doesn’t mean that they’ve totally abandoned Marvel Universe/Marvel Infinite Series collectors to the cold, hard world! Hasbro has a full series of eight 3 3/4″ Marvel Infinite Series 2015 figures scheduled to come out early this year! Although, the style is a little bit “different” than what we’ve come to expect…

Hasbro Avengers Age of Ultron 2.5″ Figures Revealed!

Avengers Age of Ultron Figures 2 Inch Hasbro 2015

When Hasbro marched out the Guardians of the Galaxy 2.5″ figures last year, they weren’t exactly met with abundant love and praise. While the smaller scale allowed Hasbro to produce affordable in-scale vehicles, the figures themselves were lacking in articulation, paint apps and sculpting detail, making them some of the most collector-derided Marvel figures of 2014. Collectors used to the Marvel Universe style of super-articulated 3 3/4″ figures were just not impressed. And it looks like they’ll continue to be unimpressed in 2015, as a series of Hasbro Avengers Age of Ultron 2.5″ figures is on the way… along with a Quinjet and Avengers Tower playset!

Avengers Age of Ultron Hot Wheels Avengers Tower Takeover Set Box

When the first Avengers movie came out, the franchise hadn’t yet proven itself as a record-shattering sales-juggernaut, so many toy manufacturers didn’t give the Avengers the time of day back in 2012. But this year–this year–everybody wants a piece of the Avengers Age of Ultron pie. And that means we are going to get all kinds of wacky, crazy merchandise–my favorite kind of merch. Case in point? This Hot Wheels Avengers Tower Takeover Set, in which, uhhh… well, Iron Man in sports car form tries to drive around a mammoth Ultron and make him explode!

Multiple Spider-Men in the same place at the same time is like Hasbro’s dream, and as such, they’ve now released their latest series of Marvel action figures, including three iterations of Spider-Man… and a new Agent Venom!

However, today Hot Toys stepped in with a monumental teaser that alleviates those concerns: while we will be getting new Hot Toys Age of Ultron figures of the core six Avengers, Hot Toys Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision and Ultron figures are all confirmed now as well!

Marvel Select Electro Figure Packaged Single-Carded

Back in August, a lot of Marvel Select collectors were outraged when an all-new, Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select Electro figure was released… in a $50 two-pack with a generic Marvel Select Spider-Man figure. Diamond Select Toys couldn’t confirm at the time whether or not we’d ever seen a single-carded Electro Marvel Select figure hit store shelves, but seeing as every Disney Store Marvel Select exclusive ever has been released individually at one time or another, I had faith that we would. And for those who waited, your patience has paid off–the 7″ Marvel Select Electro figure is now available for order all by his lonesome!

I’m way more comfortable typing than I ever have been talking, so ordinarily I steer as far away from microphones and the like as possible. But there’s an exception to every rule, and there was one invitation to talk that I absolutely could not turn down–because it came from the hosts of my absolute favorite podcast, Marvelicious Toys! So to close out 2014 and ring in 2015, I joined Marjorie, Arnie, Justin and the crew to discuss the Marvel toys year in review and the year ahead on a pair of Marvelicious podcast episodes…

Marvel Select Watcher Reissue Cancelled

Diamond Select Toys manages to keep prices down on most of the non-movie Marvel Select action figures released over the past decade-plus by frequently reissuing older figures. And one of the most hotly-anticipated reissues announced last year was of the hard-to-find Marvel Select The Watcher figure. But unfortunately, there’s some bad news for Watcher hopefuls: the Marvel Select Watcher reissue has been cancelled…

Marvel Legends Ant-Man Figure Confirmed Target DPCI

“Will they or won’t they?” has been a hot topic of discussion among collectors regarding toy manufacturers’ plans for this summer’s could-be-big Marvel’s Ant-Man movie. Besides some Funko Wacky Wobblers, none of the big companies have said squat about Ant-Man thus far.

But thanks to the handy-dandy Target DPCI database, we finally know for sure that a Marvel Legends Ant-Man figure is coming in 2015!
