Even though he was neither announced not even teased to debut at the show, the single most-anticipated Hot Toys figure going into San Diego Comic-Con 2017 was the new Gladiator Hulk Movie Masterpiece Series figure. When Hasbro sent out official photos and product descriptions for the kid-aimed Thor Ragnarok movie toys yesterday, we all knew it was only a precursor to the collector-focused Marvel Legends Thor Ragnarok toys being revealed later this week. Now, I wouldn’t have predicted that those figures would have been revealed at 10AM on Gizmondo, mind you, but hey–the important thing is that the long-awaited, beautiful movie toys have now been unveiled! Although we’re still over four months away from the theatrical release of this fall’s Thor Ragnarok movie, it’s time for the hype train to start rolling now! For the first time ever, The LEGO Group (TLG) is releasing movie sets to coincide with the release of a Thor movie–this fall’s “Thor Ragnarok” movie! The builds themselves don’t look that grandiose, but that’s not what people really buy LEGO Marvel sets for. Here I thought that I had discussed all of the new Marvel Legends shown in my New York Toy Fair 2017 coverage last weekend, when I flipped through my photos today and realized I never talked about a trio that didn’t debut at the show. Not only did Hasbro bring the soon-to-be-shipping Marvel Legends 12″ Deadpool to show off at Toy Fair, but they also had the recently-revealed 12″ Thor and 14.5″ Hulk there. Sideshow Collectibles didn’t unveil the plethora of new Marvel pieces at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 that they usually do, but the ones that they did show were some of the most jaw-dropping, gorgeous statues at the event.
