There’s some good news and some bad news for Marvel Hot Toys collectors today. The good news is that one of this year’s less-anticipated figures is getting pushed forward by several months.

Though Hasbro’s new-for-2014 “Marvel Super Hero Mashers” action figures aren’t tops on most collectors’ lists, the line seems to be at least moderately well-received at retail, where I’m seeing most characters (that aren’t Hawkeye) sold out on a regular basis. And it’s a lucky thing that the line is selling decently so far, as Hasbro has several more assortments planned for the first half of 2014, including the recently-announced Marvel Super Hero Mashers Venom, Falcon Loki, Doc Ock and Green Goblin figures!

On the exact same day that I receive a $300 1/6 scale figure of a character variation that appears on-screen in a movie for the blink of an eye, another company announces an even bigger 1/4 scale version of that figure for less than a third of the price.
