A couple months ago Hasbro revealed the first series of their new 4″ Avengers Assemble figure line, which left out certain other high-profile members of the team. Fans had panicked flashbacks to past superhero lines that were cancelled without the teams being completed. Luckily, that’s not going to be the case with this cartoon-based Avengers Assemble action figure line. Avengers Assemble Series 2 will contain all the team members necessary to complete the team, and has one of the best case ratios I’ve ever seen!

And you would be absolutely right. Though the “Iron Man 3” movie wasn’t quite the most well-loved Marvel Studios movie to date (except to me–I loved it more than any other Marvel movie, bar “Avengers), Hasbro is moving forward with a third series of Iron Man Marvel Legends in Fall 2013 regardless. This is going to be a rather controversial wave, however, as it contains an armor not seen in “Iron Man 3”, a villain (of a sort) who’s the subject of more hatred toward Marvel Studios than any other character ever from the movies, and a character who’s not (exactly) in the movies at all…

Although San Diego Comic Con 2013 Preview Night won’t begin for a few hours yet, news is already starting to emerge from the convention halls! If you’re like me, you were probably expecting that Hasbro would hang onto the secret of their next series of Marvel Legends until their panel later in the show, but nope! Front and center, on display behind glass for Preview Night of SDCC 2013, it’s this fall’s upcoming 2013 Marvel Legends Series 3 (Wave 6) series, featuring Agent Venom, Jubilee and more!

Though I’m still hot on the trail of the freshly released Hasbro Marvel Universe Wave 22 set with Mysterio and Rhino, Hasbro has now let out the details regarding the next set after that! It’s filled with fan-favorite secondary characters like Cloak & Dagger, Baron Zemo and the Abomination–and it’s scheduled for release in just one month! When Marvel relaunched the cosmic side of their universe with “Annihilation”, the only book that could be considered a hit was “Nova”. And when I say “Nova” was a “hit”, I mean it took three years for it to be cancelled–these days that’s practically an eternity for a secondary character like Nova to have a solo series! So Richard Rider Nova was killed off. But with the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie coming next year, Hasbro is excited about Marvel cosmic once again. Thus the icon of that wing of Marvel has arrived in figure form: it’s the Wave 21 Marvel Universe Nova action figure!

2013 has been a tough year for collectors of the Hasbro Marvel Universe action figures line. Last year’s assortments with figures like Jubilee and Blastaar bled into this year and saturated stores, while some figures like 2012 Marvel Universe Nova have been near-impossible to find in stores. And all the while, the first Marvel Universe 2013 single-packed figures haven’t yet arrived. But what did arrive was the first assortment of 2013 Marvel Universe Team Packs including the Inhumans, West Coast Avengers and X-Men. I promise that I didn’t purposely go out looking for them, but I did happen to stumble upon the Hasbro “The Wolverine” movie figures at Toys R Us this weekend. It’s pretty unusual for new Marvel action figures to be out in stores in New England before I’ve heard loads of people talking about having found and bought them online beforehand.
