With hype for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie in full swing last July, the SDCC 2013 Exclusive Rocket Raccoon Warbird set became a hot commodity that blew away everyone’s expectations, at one time selling for well over $200 on the afternarket. Way, way back last summer, Hasbro started showing off concepts for Marvel Legends Dormammu and Magik figures. Fans guessed that some sort of future “magic-themed” box set was in the works… and as it turns out, those fans were correct!

Yesterday I talked about the first San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive Funko figure, but that’s not the only exclusive already announced! There have been exclusive Marvel Minimates box sets at San Diego Comic Con for so many years in a row that there was never really a question of whether there would be SDCC 2015 Exclusive Minimates figures–the only real question is how many there will be! And while we still can’t answer with certainty how many total exclusives will be at the event, we do know at least two exclusive sets that will be on sale there: the exclusive SDCC 2015 Minimates Ant-Man & Avengers Age of Ultron Sets!

This is going to sound like complete and utter blasphemy coming from me, but I was sort of hoping that there wasn’t going to be a SDCC 2014 LEGO Marvel exclusive this year. The San Diego Comic Con LEGO Marvel minifigure exclusives have traditionally been both difficult and extremely expensive to acquire, so I would have been just fine with LEGO forgoing any Comic-Con exclusive LEGO Marvel sets this year.
But with a week to go until Comic-Con, they just had to go and announce an exclusive I can’t live without–it’s the SDCC 2014 LEGO Rocket Raccoon’s Warbird set exclusive!

A couple days ago I declared that the Mighty Muggs Rom Space Knight figure was the most out-of-left-field exclusive for this month’s San Diego Comic Con 2014. Well, I stand by that original assessment.
But if there was a prize for second most out-of-left-field SDCC 2014 exclusive, it would probably go to UCC Distributing for an exclusive they’re partnered up with Marvel and Hasbro for. I genuinely thought that there was a chance I was going to get away scot-free without having to buy any of this year’s Gentle Giant San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives. I’m okay living without a mini bust of the Rebel Alliance’s resident butterball, Jek Porkins, and I need a two foot tall, $500 neon green, glow-in-the-dark Aliens figure even less. But then Gentle Giant had to go and do it. They had to make their Marvel exclusive something that I absolutely cannot live without.
He’s about to take the world by storm and become more popular than Spider-Man and Wolverine combined, so this exclusive is gonna be hot: the SDCC 2014 Rocket Raccoon Mini Bust has now been revealed!

As far as unexpected, totally out-of-left-field exclusives go, Hasbro has just won San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Hands down. Unless you’ve been reading comics for three and a half decades (or grew up making semi-daily trips to the comic book store and buying old issues out of the bargain bins like me), you probably don’t have any clue who ROM The Space Knight even is. The robot form of ROM Space Knight hasn’t appeared in Marvel Comics in almost thirty years. But this month, ROM is back (sort of)–a Hasbro SDCC 2014 Exclusive ROM Space Knight Mighty Muggs figure is coming our way!

It looks like it may turn out to be a pretty light year for Funko Marvel POP! Vinyl collectors as far as 2014 San Diego Comic-Con exclusives go! While last year we had a multitude of SDCC Marvel POP! Vinyl exclusives released by Funko (including Unmasked Iron Patriot & Iron Man, Metallic Red Hulk, Metallic Ghost Rider and Metallic Deadpool), this year it looks like we’ll be enjoying one and only one 2014 SDCC Marvel POP Vinyls exclusive. Although we’ve been waiting for Marvel to officially announce the Funko Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusives, I surmised instantly what they were going to be based off of the vague hints that Funko posted many weeks ago. One of the hints indicated there would be a San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive Marvel Mystery Minis set of twelve figures–and lo and behold, that’s exactly what it is! But while most Funko Comic Con exclusives turn out to be straight-up repaints, Funko has surprised us by including some brand new molds unexpectedly as part of the 2014 SDCC Exclusive set!

I was blindsided earlier this week when Kotobukiya announced that they were releasing a Bishoujo Psylocke Classic X-Men Version statue as a SDCC 2014 exclusive. I love Psylocke, so I wasn’t complaining, but I had been absolutely certain that the Kotobukiya SDCC 2014 Bishoujo exclusive would be a variant of the Spider-Woman Bishoujo statue. Well, as it turns out, I was right! Coming to San Diego Comic-Con 2014–the super-limited Metallic Version Spider-Woman Bishoujo statue!
