Good news: Hasbro officially unveiled their first toys tying in to this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp movie this week. Bad news (from a certain point of view): None of those toys are 6″ Marvel Legends figures. We’re going to be waiting a bit longer (likely until New York Toy Fair 2018 in two weeks) to see what Hasbro has in store for adult collectors as far as Ant-Man & Wasp movie toys go, but in the meantime, let’s take a look at the Titan Hero figures, role-play items and 12″ action figures that are on the way…

Hasbro is releasing more Marvel Legends 6″ figures in 2016 than ever before, but even so, collectors trying to fill out their MCU movie figure rosters are still having a rough time, as only a handful of figures Hasbro puts out each year are movie-based. But Bandai Japan is coming to the rescue with a 6″ Civil War Ant-Man figure! The import SH Figuarts Ant-Man figure will run collectors about $50-$60 online–is he worth it? Read on for my review…

But ACGHK 2016 is occurring in Hong Kong this weekend, and Hot Toys has a giant-sized surprise on-hand for collectors: a humongous Hot Toys Giant-Man sixth scale figure is on display on the show–and man, “giant” is not hyperbole in this case…!
Continue Reading →Hot Toys has been giving us a slow and steady rollout of their Captain America: Civil War movie figures for the last few months–so slowly, in fact, that I didn’t realize a half-dozen figures were up for pre-order already!
And today, Hot Toys is going to go ahead with lucky number seven and a figure never-before-shown: the Hot Toys Civil War Ant-Man figure goes up for order later today! Is this better than their original Ant-Man…?
Continue Reading →I went to bed early last night, got a good night’s sleep and got up bright and sunny this morning–because today was the day the last of the announced mass-release Funko Civil War POP Vinyls was finally scheduled to hit stores! But I quickly hit a snag this morning, when I discovered that all of my local Gamestops–who insisted they wouldn’t take reservations–had decided to reserve out all of their received Giant-Man POPs. Thankfully, my wife was sweet enough to zip over to the closest Gamestop to her job and nab me the last 6″ Funko Giant-Man POP Vinyl! Was the big-guy worth all the trouble?
Continue Reading →At this point, we’ve seen high-quality photos released of virtually every major character in this year’s “Captain America: Civil War” movie. But there’s one character that’s been hard to spot, and he’s both the MCU’s smallest and largest superhero: Scott Lang, Ant-Man (and someone else). But thanks to Bandai Japan, we’ve got our best look yet at the Civil War Ant-Man costume–the Captain America Civil War SH Figuarts Ant-Man figure goes up for order March 1st!

But it looks like they still had one magnificent trump card up their sleeve, and it’s arriving in time for the holidays: the Funko POP Vinyls Ant-Man & Ant-Thony the Flying Ant Set is now up for order!
Continue Reading →Hot Toys is almost indisputably the most popular high-end Marvel licensor, so there’s not a whole lot that they manage to put up for order that still goes under the radar. But I think it’s rather fitting that one item that has snuck out is a rather incognito, shrunken superhero and his faithful ant: the Hot Toys Ant-Man on Flying Ant miniature figure is now up for order! And as you’d expect from Marvel’s smallest hero, it’s the cheapest non-Cosbaby Hot Toys Marvel figure ever released!

Yeah–this isn’t gonna be like that. This year, Walgreens has their act together and is ready to strike while the iron is hot. After just debuting in the Hasbro showcase at SDCC 2015 one week ago, the exclusive Walgreens Ant-Man Marvel Legends figure has already begun hitting stores this week!
Continue Reading →At San Diego Comic-Con 2015 last week, Hot Toys finally dropped the curtain and revealed their much-anticipated Ant-Man Movie Masterpiece Series figure. Reaction to the overall look of the figure has been positive, leaving most collectors with just one question: “When can we buy it?”
Well, Hot Toys must have figured that what day could be better than the one when Ant-Man hits theaters–the Hot Toys Ant-Man figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →From Marvel Select to Marvel Legends to Marvel Minimates and Marvel Infinite Series, we’re getting mini figures of Ant-Man all over the place in celebration of the upcoming Ant-Man movie!
But maybe what you’ve been waiting for isn’t a little figure of Ant-Man… but a big one! And if so, Hasbro has just the low-priced action figure for you: the 12″ Marvel Titan Hero Ant-Man figure has now been released in stores!
Continue Reading →From creating Ultron to smacking around his wife (The Wasp), there’s probably been more criticism aimed at poor ol’ Hank Pym over the years than any other member of the Avengers. But one of Hank Pym’s greatest failures came in recent years, when he allowed a bunch of the children he was responsible for at the Avengers Academy to be kidnapped and brutally murdered by Arcade (yes, Arcade). It’s unlikely that many Avengers Academy characters will ever see the light of day in plastic form, but now we can all commemorate this glorious era in Hank Pym’s life with the Marvel Legends Giant-Man figure available as part of the Ant-Man Legends Series!
Continue Reading →Let’s face facts: there are not a ton of marketable characters (as far as merch goes) in next month’s Ant-Man movie. When the third-biggest name in the movie is “Ant-thony the Ant”, you know you’ve got a problem. And so, I’ve been waiting patiently for the first of the inevitable Unmasked Ant-Man figures to be revealed. I thought it would be Funko, but I was wrong: the exclusive Marvel Select Unmasked Ant-Man is now up for order!
Continue Reading →We’re now under a month until the arrival of the Ant-Man movie in theaters, and that means that the modest onslaught of Ant-Man merch is now beginning to pour into stores! Toys R Us stores decided to break street date and release the Marvel Legends Ant-Man Series into stores earlier this month, and the Funko POP Vinyls Ant-Man and Yellowjacket figures have also begun to hit retail. And now, what may be the coolest of the Ant-Man Funko products is arriving as well–the Hot Topic exclusive Funko Glow-in-the-Dark Ant-Man POP Vinyl is available online and in some stores!
Continue Reading →What with the Marvel Legends Ant-Man Series having a hard street date of July 3rd 2015 (and Amazon shipping theirs July 1st), I really wasn’t expecting to see the figures hit stores two weeks early. But if there’s one chain that doesn’t mind breaking the rules and ignoring street dates, it’s Toys R Us–and many Toys R Us stores (including mine) have now begun stocking the Hasbro Ant-Man Legends figures early!
