LEGO Marvel 2014 Doc Ock Truck Heist 76015 Set Box

Doctor Octopus has appeared more times in LEGO minifigure form than any other LEGO Marvel villain. So you would probably think that with there being five previous LEGO Doc Ock minifigure releases, at least one of those would have been a classic comic-inspired Doctor Octopus figure. Nope! Every single one of those LEGO Doctor Octopus (Octopi?) figures has been based on the Spider-Man 2 movie or Ultimate Spider-Man. But the classic Doctor Octopus LEGO minifigure we’ve all been dreaming of will finally arrive in 2014, as part of LEGO Marvel Doc Ock’s Truck Heist 76015!

76017 LEGO Marvel Captain America vs. Hydra Box

We’re at the halfway mark of discussing the five new-for-2014 Marvel LEGO sets, and this time I’m going to take a look at what’s only the second LEGO set ever built around Captain America! While logic dictates that this winter-releasing Captain America LEGO set would be related to the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie, it’s actually more like a blast from the past–it’s the LEGO Marvel Captain America vs. Hydra 76017 set!

Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Cowboy Tony Stark Sixth Scale Figure Milk Exclusive

When I first heard about the Hot Toys Rose Hill Tony Stark figure a week or so ago–no lie–I thought it was a joke. No, seriously–I thought it was a joke. I thought someone had photoshopped some teaser photos of the existing Tony Stark Hot Toys figure wearing a cowboy hat, and was trying to pass it off as a real upcoming figure. I was mistaken.

Officially announced and coming in 2014–the Rose Hill Tony Stark Hot Toys Iron Man 3 sixth scale figure!

LEGO Marvel Superheroes Spider-Trike vs. Electro 76014 Box

I started off coverage of the LEGO Marvel 2014 sets by discussing the largest set coming this winter, and now it’s time to take a look at the smallest set. While you might think at a glance that this set is an actual LEGO Amazing Spider-Man 2 set, it’s actually not quite what it appears to be.

Coming later this winter, it’s the Spider-Man LEGO Spider-Trike vs. Electro 76014!

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rhino Movie Poster

It’s not Marvel toy news and I’m no movie critic (I leave that to the experts over at Now Playing podcast), but a couple people wanted to know my thoughts on the first full-length the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer that was released yesterday.

There will be loads of Amazing Spider-Man 2 toys to talk about next year, so I’m going to squeeze this into the “related content” category and give my quick initial impressions of the 2014 Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie trailer…

LEGO Spider-Man 2014 Mary Jane Minifigure Revealed

Though full details and photos have leaked out of virtually every single LEGO 2014 winter set, LEGO has been extra-stingy with information and images of their 2014 LEGO Marvel offerings. I’ve got some confidential-stamped images (that I can’t post, for obvious reasons), but otherwise LEGO has managed to keep their LEGO Marvel 2014 intel very close to their vest.

Luckily, a few minifigures have snuck out, and those I actually can share: the LEGO Marvel Mary Jane & Power Man minifigures!

2014 Marvel Legends Captain America Infinite Series WWII Captain America

With the Captain America Marvel Legends 2014 Infinite Series scheduled to hit stores next month, I figured it was only a matter of time until the Hong Kong scrappers inevitably got some of the figures to shill online early. I wasn’t disappointed.

Thanks to a series of online ebay auctions, we can now get out first look at production samples of the Captain America Marvel Legends Infinite Series WWII Captain America and the rest of the first wave…

Yep, this is really gonna tee off some of the people who paid $400+ for just the Hulk Hot Toys figure on the secondary market…

Kotobukiya Marvel NOW Captain America ARTFX+ Statue

Now that the holidays are at an end (at least for a couple weeks), I’ve got a chance to step back and discuss some news items I didn’t have time to talk about during Thanksgiving break. First up on the list is the third release in the Marvel NOW Kotobukiya Avengers ArtFX+ line: Captain America! Cap debuted at SDCC 2013 in July, but was M.I.A. when NYCC 2013 rolled around in October. Luckily, he’s returned safely from his mission and is now fully-painted! Even so, he’s probably my least favorite of the Kotobukiya Marvel NOW Avengers ARTFX+ Statues thus far…

Earlier tonight I posted the assortment and case ratios for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends Infinite Series, but that’s not the only series of Marvel Legends 2014 figures to have its pre-order info revealed tonight! Though the case-pack turns out to be a tad less enticing than that of the Marvel Legends 2014 Spider-Man set, the Captain America Marvel Legends Infinite Series Wave 1 is also now up for pre-order!
