Last week Sideshow teased a new version of their super-popular Deadpool Premium Format Figure for Black Friday, and they were true to their word–the X-Force Deadpool Premium Format Figure is now up for order!
X-Force Deadpool’s got a different color costume, different hands and accessories, a different base, and one less head! In some ways I think this is an improvement over the original Deadpool–and in some ways, not so much…

Just when many collectors thought that the Hot Toys Avengers 1/6 Movie Masterpiece Series figures line was at an end, Hot Toys has revealed to the world the official photos and specifications for two more Avengers Hot Toys Sixth Scale figures! Though we first saw a Chitauri Footsoldier prototype over a year ago, fans were skeptical it would ever be released. Hot Toys might have taken that notion as a challenge, because they’ve now created not one but two Chitauri figures! The Avengers Hot Toys Chitauri Footsoldier and Chitauri Commander are now up for pre-order!

Something unexpected and absolutely stupefying happened this week: not only did the Marvel Select Silver Surfer ship out on time, it actually shipped out early. While retailers were listing a December 2013 release date for the Silver Surfer Marvel Select figure, Diamond Select Toys snuck him out the door and into stores–even before the still-delayed Thor 2 Jane Foster! Though I’m waiting for the Diamond Select Toys Silver Surfer I ordered online to arrive, I ventured out to a local comic book store today to snap some photos and see him in person…

I saw reported sightings of the new set of exclusive Toys R Us Marvel Minimates Wave 17 for the first time this morning, and decided to make it my new quest to see the Minimates wave in person. But, well… It wasn’t much of a quest. I drove to one Toys R Us, walked down the action figure aisle, and all four two-packs of the TRU Marvel Minimates Series 17 figures were just sitting right out front on the pegs…

One of the best things about Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel Select action figures line is that DST regularly reissues older figures from the line, thus giving new collectors a chance to collect Marvel Select figures that have been out of print (sometimes for years) without having to max out their credit card bill. Sometimes Diamond Select makes character choices to reissue that are sensational, and sometimes the picks are less exciting. The impending 2014 reissues of Marvel Select Captain Marvel and Spider-Woman fall into the more boring latter category…

It’s been a good half of a year since 3A Toys shared a teaser photo of their first Marvel sixth scale figure entry, this week they finally deigned to give us a better look at the unpainted prototype of the upcoming 3A Toys Iron Man 1/6 figure!
The amount of Iron Man swag out there this year is totally unreal and off-the-charts, but I guarantee that 3AToys has designed an Iron Man figure like none that have come before it…

On the same day that they announce the comic book-inspired Marvel Select Winter Soldier action figure, Diamond Select Toys has also announced via MTV the pair of characters that will make up their Marvel Select Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures to be released in the spring. And–surprise! The movie version of the Winter Soldier himself isn’t one of them…
UPDATE 11/15/2013: The Marvel Select Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures are now up for pre-order!

Does the dearth of new comic-inspired Marvel Select figures in 2013 got you down? Thus far, Diamond Select Toys has released zero comic book-based Marvel Select figures in the second half of 2013, as all of the recent figures have been based on Marvel movies like “The Wolverine”, “Iron Man 3” and “Thor: The Dark World”.
But this morning DST announced the cure for what ails comic-based Marvel fans: an all-new Marvel Select Winter Soldier figure–and surprise–he’s coming in December 2013!

Yesterday, news leaked out regarding the previously-unknown lineup of Marvel Minimates Wave 55, the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Minimates movie series.
It’s rather appropriate that that news came out on Veteran’s Day, but some collectors were upset with the revealed lineup and a glaring omission from it. Those fans may be in luck, however, as it turns out that the rumored Marvel Minimates Winter Soldier lineup circulating is apparently incorrect…
UPDATE 11/13/2013: Diamond Select Toys has now confirmed the configuration of the Marvel Minimates Captain America: The Winter Soldier Wave 55 series to be as follows…

When Kotobukiya showed off the unpainted Bishoujo Spider-Woman statue sculpt at New York Comic Con 2013 one month ago, we knew it wasn’t going to be long until we saw the official painted photos of the piece and the opening of pre-orders.
Sure enough, over the weekend Kotobukiya released glamor shots of the statue, and the 2014 Kotobukiya Spider-Woman Bishoujo statue is now available for order!

LEGO has done a commendable job keeping their sets for next year under wraps up until now, but as we approach the new year leaks were bound to be sprung–and one such leak occurred this weekend, when the Canadian Walmart website accidentally posted the first hi-res images of one of the LEGO Marvel 2014 sets. You’ll realize pretty quickly that this may not be the most impressive LEGO Marvel set ever, but the LEGO Spider-Man Spider-Car Pursuit 10665 still has a couple things in its favor…

I’m starting to feel like I’m the bringer of all bad news and gloom these last couple days, but it looks like I’ve got a few more unfortunate tidings to convey.
After gaining some momentum and a lot of interest by their appearances at major conventions throughout the summer, Play Imaginative announced yesterday that their entire Iron Man Super Alloy figures line in both 1/4 and 1/12 scales will now be delayed until 2014…

Yesterday we got the unfortunate news that the last two Marvel Universe Team Pack three-packs were officially cancelled by Hasbro. Not to pile on all the bad news at once, I decided to hold off for a day before spreading a bit more gloom. Remember all those Marvel Legends running changes we’ve been waiting for (some of which for over a year), like the Marvel Legends Dani Moonstar and Red Deadpool variants?
Well, apparently, Hasbro still hasn’t found any way of releasing those figures…
