I have a big problem with Marvel vinyl figures. And the problem is that I can’t stop buying them. It used to be that relatively few vinyl Marvel figures got released each year–but with Funko’s explosion in popularity, the number of Marvel vinyls being released is at an all-time high. At some point I’m going to have to draw the line somewhat (for space purposes if not monetary ones)–but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to kick the addiction anytime soon! The Marvel Dorbz Series 1 figures are now up for order, and spoilers–they are a-DORBZ-able!

Of all the various toy lines that I cover on Marvel Toy News, the one that tends to be the most difficult is the Funko Hikari Marvel vinyls. See, Funko tends to announce its new Hikaris like clockwork every Friday–but there’s no warning when a new Marvel one will be revealed, and when one is, it’s typically sold out within hours. Such is the case with the two latest additions: Funko Hikari X-Force Deadpool and Inferno Iron Man!

When Kotobukiya revealed their ARTFX+ Deadpool statue last year, it became the first “standalone” Marvel ARTFX+ statue, as it isn’t part of the Marvel NOW! Avengers or X-Men lineups. Of course, Kotobukiya might as well have just called this the “Deadpool Series”, because the third version of this Kotobukiya Deadpool ARTFX+ statue has now been revealed: Partially Unmasked Deadpool with Headpool!

All good things must come to an end, and I’ll be wrapping up the Marvel toys portion of my New York Toy Fair 2015 coverage over the next day or two. But before the end comes, there’s a few more things I want to talk about from the show. Earlier this week I posted my impressions of the nearly two-dozen Vinyl Sugar Dorbz Marvel figures, but Funko brought along a far smaller assortment of a larger and way more expensive line from the new brand as well: the Vinyl Sugar Super Deluxe Deadpool, Groot and Rocket Raccoon figures!

When I heard that a Funko POP! Rides Deadpool Chimichanga Truck set was in the works earlier this winter, I would have written it off as a ridiculous rumor if it hadn’t come from the president of Funko himself. Even so, my mind was still having a hard time grasping the concept of this vehicle–right up until I walked into the New York Comic Con 2015 Funko booth, where I was finally able to grasp the hilarity of this new Funko Deadpool toy…

A couple days ago, Kotobukiya posted a small piece of a drawing of what appeared to be Bishoujo Lady Deadpool statue concept art. I figured that that was the teaser that would lead up to Kotobukiya debuting the full concept art for Lady Deadpool at the New York Toy Fair 2015 next weekend.

But, surprise! Kotobukiya had other ideas, as they premiered the full Kotobukiya Lady Deadpool Bishoujo statue concept drawing in Japan today!

In a world where many toy companies are showing off figures six months to a year (sometimes more) before those toys go up for sale, I’m always taken by surprise when Funko will pull something out of their hat and officially announce a new toy a couple of days before it’s supposed to be released. Generally these tend to be upcoming Marvel Funko POP! Vinyls, but this time the new Marvel figure comes from a less popular line: Wacky Wobblers Bobble-Heads. But hey, who better to get folks talking about a line than a Marvel character who won’t shut up: the Funko Deadpool Wacky Wobblers figure has now been released!

How much Deadpool is too much Deadpool? You probably reach a saturation point where you’ve just plain had enough Deadpool–but I haven’t reached that point yet. And apparently, neither has Funko! Funko has decided to bring the Deadpool POP! Vinyl mold out of retirement (it was a short retirement), and add to the already double-digit list of Deadpool Funko POP Vinyls figures. In just one month, we can add to the Deadpool rainbow, as the blue-and-yellow Funko Deadpool X-Men Outfit POP! Vinyl figure is now available for order!

I raised myself with the value that a man has to stand strong in his beliefs, and it’s for that reason that I’ve fought off the urges to buy any Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures, even after Hasbro started choosing characters like Loki that I’m a total mark for. But every man has his limits, and I gave in to temptation this week and ordered the Marvel Mashers Deadpool figure online. My first Marvel Super Hero Mashers figure has come home… and god help me, now I think I need (re: want) more of these Marvel Mashers action figures…

…Well, that was fast. Kotobukiya hasn’t exactly been trying to keep it a secret that they have a grey X-Force Deadpool ARTFX+ variant statue in the works for next year, what with them openly talking about it at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 last month and showing off sneak peek photos last week. Even so, for some weird reason I thought that this variant statue wouldn’t be going up for sale for a while yet, as it was scheduled to be a store exclusive. I thought wrong! The statue will be exclusive to all retailers who use Diamond Previews, and the exclusive Kotobukiya Deadpool X-Force ARTFX+ statue variant is now up for order!

While their collector-oriented releases for 2014 are just about at an end, Hasbro still has a plethora of kid-focused Marvel action figures lined up for the second half of 2014! The Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures are a line that I legit thought were some sort of prank when they debuted, but their stylized look has really started to grow on me. And now I’ve ordered a pair of Marvel Mashers figures online for the first time ever. Why? Because it’s two characters I can never seem to pass on–the Marvel Mashers Deadpool and Red Hulk figures have now been released!

It’s impossible to have a conversation about modern comic book characters that have exploded into ‘A’-List headliners for their respective companies without mentioning the Merc with a Mouth himself, Deadpool. Despite having only first appeared in 1991, the fairly recently-created Deadpool has become one of the most popular and recognizable characters in the entire comic book world. A couple days ago I declared that the Mighty Muggs Rom Space Knight figure was the most out-of-left-field exclusive for this month’s San Diego Comic Con 2014. Well, I stand by that original assessment.

But if there was a prize for second most out-of-left-field SDCC 2014 exclusive, it would probably go to UCC Distributing for an exclusive they’re partnered up with Marvel and Hasbro for. He’s cosplayed as Hulk, Wolverine, Thor, Captain America and Spider-Man–and this month you’ll be able to get your own 2014 SDCC Exclusive Deadpool Mr. Potato Head: Dead Peel!
