Although we’ve been waiting for Marvel to officially announce the Funko Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusives, I surmised instantly what they were going to be based off of the vague hints that Funko posted many weeks ago. One of the hints indicated there would be a San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive Marvel Mystery Minis set of twelve figures–and lo and behold, that’s exactly what it is! But while most Funko Comic Con exclusives turn out to be straight-up repaints, Funko has surprised us by including some brand new molds unexpectedly as part of the 2014 SDCC Exclusive set!

Some people think I’m joking when I talk about Funko being bent on world domination of the collectibles market, but I am dead serious. The sheer number of figures that Funko releases each year for various licensees is nothing short of awe-inspiring. And in summer 2014, Funko is launching another new branch of collectible figures: Funko Fabrikations! I was a bit dubious of these fabric-covered figures, but I ordered the Funko Marvel Fabrikations Deadpool for $17 shipped online anyway. I’m so very glad I did–the Funko Deadpool Fabrikations figure is one of my favorite Marvel toys of 2014…

One of the things that instantly caught my attention at the New York Toy Fair 2014 was a brand-new KidRobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 assortment! KidRobot can go years between releasing series, so I wasn’t anticipating seeing more Marvel Labbits until 2015. Joke’s on me, though–not only did Kid Robot show an entire new series of Marvel Labbits figures, but all of the 2014 Marvel Labbits figures are due to be released in stores this coming week!

Of the hundreds of new products that I saw at the 2014 Toy Fair International, the most enigmatic one turned out to be one of the smallest. Marvel Super Hero Mashers definitely are not my favorite action figure line of 2014. In general, they’re a bit too “kiddie” for me, and I wasn’t totally in love with the character selection for the first series. That said, Hasbro may have won me over–just a little bit–with their Toy Fair 2014 Marvel Super Hero Mashers Series 3 reveals. As if Hasbro went into my brain and pulled out four characters that would be ideal lures for me, at last week’s New York Toy Fair 2014 Hasbro debuted the Marvel Mashers Deadpool, Iceman, Red Hulk and Ghost Rider figures!

Toy Fair 2014: Funko Marvel Fabrikations Deadpool Plush!

The 2014 New York Toy Fair won’t officially begin until tomorrow (though there’s lots of cool Hasbro news still to come today), but Funko has decided to get fans psyched up a day early by previewing one of their big news line: Funko Fabrikations 6″ plush toys. This is relevant because the line will include Marvel characters, beginning with the Funko Fabrikations Deadpool plush that is now up for pre-order and shipping in spring 2014!

If you read my blogs regularly, you know I’m majorly obsessive compulsive–especially when it comes to toys. It’s for that reason that I don’t buy a lot of Marvel Funko POP! Vinyls, even though I love vinyl figures and the designs that Funko comes up with. The paint apps quality control on Funko POP! Vinyls can be very hit or miss, so rather than make myself nuts, I’ll often stay away from characters I can pass on. This Inverse Deadpool Exclusive, however, was not a figure I could easily skip.
