Hasbro unquestionably brought their ‘A’-Game to San Diego Comic Con 2014, where they silenced critics by announcing a veritable blockbuster assortment of characters for their 2015 Marvel Legends Avengers Infinite Series 6″ figures line. And at the SDCC 2014 Hasbro Marvel Panel, they took their impressiveness even further. While Avengers Marvel Legends Wave 1 will be entirely comic-based, Marvel Legends 2015 Avengers Wave 2 will be a mix of comic and movie characters, and bring us super-articulated Marvel Legends Maria Hill, Agent Coulson, Nick Fury… and the the first-ever Marvel Legends Thanos Build-A-Figure!

Hasbro tried to pull a fast one on fans at San Diego Comic Con 2014 on Thursday, when they pulled the Classic Hawkeye Marvel Legends Avengers Series 1 figure out of the display case after photos leaked with Hawkeye as part of the wave. But on Friday, Hasbro went ahead and laid a few more cards on the table (or figures in the display, as the case may be). Not only will Marvel Legends 2015 bring us the Marvel Legends Hawkeye variant we’ve been waiting for, but we’ll also be getting the long-lost Marvel Legends Iron Fist figure and the parts to make a King Thor Build-A-Figure!

Ordinarily I wouldn’t be particularly enthralled by a company revealing the same figure two years in a row at San Diego Comic-Con, but in this instance I’m willing to make an exception. One of the Marvel Legends figures that appeared at last year’s event and was thought to be lost forever is making a comeback at SDCC 2014–as part of a store-exclusive three-pack! As far as unexpected, totally out-of-left-field exclusives go, Hasbro has just won San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Hands down. Unless you’ve been reading comics for three and a half decades (or grew up making semi-daily trips to the comic book store and buying old issues out of the bargain bins like me), you probably don’t have any clue who ROM The Space Knight even is. The robot form of ROM Space Knight hasn’t appeared in Marvel Comics in almost thirty years. But this month, ROM is back (sort of)–a Hasbro SDCC 2014 Exclusive ROM Space Knight Mighty Muggs figure is coming our way!

I’ve been holding off on talking further about the Marvel Legends Agent Venom figure because the whole Walgreens aspect of the release has just felt totally out-there to me. But it’s now been confirmed by Hasbro and Jesse Falcon, so there’s absolutely no room for doubt. It’s the toy collecting equivalent of the irresistible force meeting the unmovable object! I’ve been fiercely adamant in my stance that I was never going to pick up any of the Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures, as I thought they were pretty much the most ludicrous thing ever the first time that I saw them.
But Hasbro has found my weakness, and has moved in to exploit it: Loki toys! The Marvel Mashers Loki and Doc Ock figures have now been released!

Asia is becoming quite the hot spot for Marvel Legends news! The news that the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Marvel Legends Black Widow figures would be increased to two-per-case came first from Asia, as did the first leaked photos and information regarding this summer’s X-Men Marvel Legends Infinite Series figures. And now, we’ve got an announcement that’s almost as unexpected coming from a Hasbro Asia solicitation: the long-lost 6″ Marvel Legends Agent Venom figure appears to finally be shipping this summer!

Well, here’s something I don’t get to say very often: Toys R Us actually has a great price for something today! Collectors who didn’t want to pay the very high prices for a set of the X-Men Marvel Legends Infinite Series case assortment shipping out to comic book and online stores via Diamond Previews have one other option: to purchase the figures direct from Toys R Us. Harry Osborn is my favorite character in any iteration of Spider-Man, but I had my reservations about Dane DeHaan playing Harry Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man 2. As things turned out, Dane DeHaan’s performance as Harry Osborn was one of the brightest spots of that movie (not that that was all that difficult). And while I gagged at some of the illogical and irredeemable actions Harry perpetrated as the Green Goblin, I’ve been wanting a Hasbro action figure of him anyway. And in July 2014, the first Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin figure will arrive!

There’s good news and bad news for Marvel collectors who are getting pumped for this summer’s Hasbro X-Men Marvel Legends Infinite Series with Jubilee Build-A-Figure. The good news is that the series is going to have additional availability beyond Toys R Us, as online retailers and comic book stores will also be taking pre-orders for the 6″ X-Men Legends figures. The bad news is that the case ratios for the series have also been revealed, and two of the figures coming with Jubilee Build-A-Figure parts are in fact shortpacked…

Hasbro did a superb job this year of keeping their SDCC 2014 Marvel Legends exclusive set of 6″ figures under wraps until they were ready to grandly unveil it today. Their 3.75″ Marvel Infinite Series SDCC 2014 exclusive set…? Not so much. We’d seen some photos leak from Asia over the last few weeks, and I instantly guessed that we would be getting a Thanos-themed Marvel Universe exclusive set. And, as expected, that’s exactly what we’re getting–but it’s also coming with a really cool wearable, foam Infinity Gauntle! It’s the SDCC 2014 Marvel Infinity Gauntlet figures set!

Over the course of the last week I’ve given my reviews and impressions of all six basic figures that make up the Hasbro Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Series (and you can find all those reviews in the archives).
