Though the first photos of Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 leaked out a little bit earlier this month, we’ve had to wait a bit for Funko to confirm the assortment and send out hi-res images of the set. Well, not only has Funko done that today–they’ve also shown off the packaging for the Marvel Funko Mystery Minis, shared the rarity scale for the figures and put Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 up for order! And if you want a complete set of Marvel Mystery Minis, be prepared to spend a lot of money buying blind boxes and hunting for the rarest figures…

Marvel collectors got an unexpected early Christmas present tonight, when the great Dan Curto posted a scan from this week’s new Diamond Previews Magazine, fully revealing the first wave of Hasbro Marvel Universe 2014 figures: the Avengers Infinite Series Wave 1! Along with a couple “headliners” most collectors already have, we’ll also be getting Avengers Infinite Series Wasp, Hyperion, The Grim Reaper and the Indestructible Hulk!

We had to wait a week to get confirmation that this duo would be making their way to the United States, but the long-awaited Bruce Banner Hot Toys figure (and The Other Guy!) are now up for pre-order! Yep, this is really gonna tee off some of the people who paid $400+ for just the Hulk Hot Toys figure on the secondary market…
Continue Reading →I saw reported sightings of the new set of exclusive Toys R Us Marvel Minimates Wave 17 for the first time this morning, and decided to make it my new quest to see the Minimates wave in person. But, well… It wasn’t much of a quest. I drove to one Toys R Us, walked down the action figure aisle, and all four two-packs of the TRU Marvel Minimates Series 17 figures were just sitting right out front on the pegs…
Continue Reading →I bow down to Funko, who is the undisputed king of the surprise exclusive. I write a variety of toy blogs, so I’m watching for new releases from various toy companies pretty much every hour of my life. But there is no company–none–that keeps me on my toes more than Funko. Surprise releases can debut any time, any day–and we got one such Funko Marvel figure surprise release today! Limited to 500, the exclusive Funko Metallic Compound Hulk POP! Vinyls figure is now in-stock and up for order!
Continue Reading →Through a welcome bit of good fortune, the Marvel Universe Abomination figure that I ordered from Amazon earlier this month turned out to be the Hasbro Marvel Universe A-Bomb variant figure when it actually arrived. The chances of me paying out the wazoo for this character were zero, but I was pretty ecstatic to get him for the $11.99 shipped I ended up paying. Of course, it would be a moot point if the MU A-Bomb action figure turned out to be a dud. Luckily, this Marvel Universe A-Bomb review is one of the ones where I get to talk up a surprisingly great action figure…
Continue Reading →I’ve talked a great deal about Marvel Hot Toys figures since I started this blog (especially about the Hot Toys Avengers figures), but I haven’t put forward an official Avengers Hot Toys figure review–until now.
Last week I received the biggest Marvel Hot Toys figure ever released, and though he’s the most atypical figure in the line so far, I figured I’d begin my reviews with him. It’s the absolutely massive beast that is MMS 186: the Avengers Hot Toys Hulk sixth scale figure!
Continue Reading →With the Marvel Universe 3 3/4″ action figure line in its death throes, Hasbro is determined to keep things “interesting” (if that’s what you want to call it) until the very end.
Almost every Marvel Universe 2013 wave of figures is coming with some unannounced surprise variants of old figures mixed in, and Marvel Universe Wave 23 keeps the fun going with new Grey Hulk and Ghost Rider figures…
Continue Reading →Back in July during SDCC 2013, photos leaked out of a pair of hitherto-unannounced Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl figures: a Peter Parker POP Vinyl and a Compound Hulk POP Vinyl. We’ve gone a while with nary a word about either figure, but since both are mere repaints, it was always pretty certain that they would turn up eventually–and now, the first one has! Coming in October 2013 as a limited retailer exclusive, it’s the Funko Compound Hulk POP! Vinyl figure!
Continue Reading →We saw it painted at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con last month, so it’s not going to shock anyone that the Marvel Now Hulk ARTFX+ Statue is kicking off the Kotobukiya Avengers Now line. While the announcement is an expected one, however, it’s still nice to see Kotobukiya post the official glamor photos of their upcoming ARTFX+ Hulk Statue and let us know that we’ll have to make space on our shelves for this jade giant in March 2014…

But sometimes it’s nice to have the bar set low, because then you can be pleasantly surprised!
No, Disney didn’t sell the series at the show, but they did give out free promotional trading cards showing off photos of the Vinylmation Marvel Series 1 figures for the very first time!
Continue Reading →If there’s a toy company out there that I desperately want to love more than Funko, I don’t know what it is. I’ve had my share of quality control issues with the Funko POP! Vinyls figure line over the years, which has left me mostly admiring their goods from afar. But with the massive amount of cool 2013 San Diego Comic Con exclusives Funko released, I could resist no more, and picked up a trio of their con exclusive Marvel POP! Vinyls. By luck (or bad luck) of the draw, I opened the Metallic Red Hulk POP! Vinyl first…
Continue Reading →Kotobukiya made Marvel fans salivate at the start of this week when they revealed the Adi Granov full-color concept art posted for the Kotobukiya ARTFX+ Marvel NOW! Avengers statues lineup.
That tease has now paid off in dividends, as Kotobukiya has shown off half of the lineup for their comic-based Marvel NOW! Avengers ArtFX+ line at SDCC 2013: Captain America, Black Widow and the Hulk statues!
Continue Reading →Even if you were daring enough to brave the treacherous, hours-long line to get up to the Funko booth at San Diego Comic Con 2013 today, there was a little extra treat there that most visitors missed: an all-new Funko book that debuted a lot of previously unannounced upcoming Funko POP! Vinyls.
Two of these newly-revealed figures will be of special interest to Marvel fans–it’s the Funko Marvel POP! Vinyls Peter Parker and Compound Hulk!
Continue Reading →Hot Toys is preparing to lay siege to collectors’ future dollars when they unveil a multitude of new Movie Masterpiece Series sixth scale figures this week at San Diego Comic Con 2013 including Heartbreaker Iron Man, Gemini Iron Man, The Lone Ranger, Tonto and more. But that’s not all–they’ll also be showing off a now fully-painted final prototype figure to add to one of the most successful Hot Toys lines ever–it’s the long-awaited Avengers Hot Toys Chitauri Footsoldier figure! And could the Chitauri be joined by a Hot Toys gamma-powered alter-ego figure as well this week…?
