3A Ultron Figure with Light-Up Eyes Mouth and Chest

Of all the new companies that began producing Marvel collectibles in 2015, the one that made the single most divisive line is likely ThreeA Toys. While 3A Toys is beloved for its original creations, the radically redesigned 3A Marvel sixth scale figures have been met with a mixture of praise and disdain from Marvel fans.

But criticism or no, after weeks of teases, their next re-imagined Marvel character is on the way: the ThreeA Toys Ultron figures have now been fully revealed!

Pile of LEGO Marvel Electro Minifigure Polybags

Way back in October 2014, LEGO shocked the Marvel collecting world with a totally random, out-of-left-field release of an Amazing Spider-Man 2 Electro minifigure polybag at the LEGO KidsFest event. Marvel collectors have been waiting with bated breath for details on when they could acquire the ASM2 Electro figure ever since. And at long last, more than half a year later, we know–the 5002125 Electro figure has now been released in stores!

Ant-Man Hot Toys Figure Preview Helmet Mini Antman

When Hot Toys acquired the licenses for Amazing Spider-Man 2, Guardians of the Galaxy and this summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, they made a major announcement for each and pretty much shouted it from the rooftops.

But Hot Toys has been much quieter about this summer’s other Marvel movie–until this week! The first teaser for the Hot Toys Ant-Man figure has now been revealed!

Funko Hikari Inferno Iron Man and X-Force Deadpool POP Vinyls

Of all the various toy lines that I cover on Marvel Toy News, the one that tends to be the most difficult is the Funko Hikari Marvel vinyls. See, Funko tends to announce its new Hikaris like clockwork every Friday–but there’s no warning when a new Marvel one will be revealed, and when one is, it’s typically sold out within hours. Such is the case with the two latest additions: Funko Hikari X-Force Deadpool and Inferno Iron Man!

Play Arts Spider-Man Figure Shooting Web

Not only is 2015 on track to be the biggest year ever for long-running toy lines like Marvel Legends, Funko Marvel POP Vinyls, and Hot Toys Marvel figures, but it’s also the year that a slew of new lines are kicking off spotlighting iconic Marvel characters. One of those lines is the Square-Enix Play Arts Kai Marvel Variant line, which gives us unique redesigns of beloved Marvel superheroes. The line kicked off with (yet another) Iron Man in the winter, and now its moved on to its second release: the Play Arts Kai Spider-Man figure is now available for order!

Marvel Select Hulkbuster Iron Man Up for Order!

Diamond Select Toys Hulkbuster Iron Man Figure Running

I’m not looking for props or anything (well, actually I am), but I totally called this one. When Diamond Select Toys announced back in January that there were only three Marvel Select Avengers Age of Ultron figures scheduled for release–and none of them were Hulkbuster Iron Man–I would have laid down money that it was because a comics-based Marvel Select Hulkbuster Iron Ma figure was in the works. Sadly, there’s nowhere to make such monetary bets, but I’m happy nonetheless–because the awesome Hulkbuster Iron Man Marvel Select figure is now up for order!

Hasbro Ultron Mark 1 Age of Ultron 3-Pack Released!

Target Exclusive Iron Man vs Ultron Three-Pack of Figures

A decade ago, I could pretty much plan on at least one store-exclusive Star Wars store figure, vehicle or box set being released per month. These days, though, Marvel has stolen all the store-exclusive mojo (for now), and it seems you can’t throw a rock without hitting a bunch of exclusive Marvel figures. And today, I finally stumbled across an Avengers Age of Ultron 3-Pack I’d been watching out for for months, including the exclusive Hasbro 4″ Ultron Mark 1 figure!

Minimates Avengers AOU Scarlet Witch Quicksilver Released

Yesterday I talked about the Toys R Us Exclusive Avengers: Age of Ultron 3 3/4″ two-packs, which contain the only super-articulated Hasbro Marvel Universe-scale AOU figures. But those aren’t the only notable exclusives new to Toys R Us shelves! They’ve also got exclusive dibs on what I expect to be the hottest of all the Avengers Age of Ultron Minimates sets–the Marvel Minimates Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch figures!

3 3/4" Avengers Age of Ultron Black Widow & Captain America Action Figures

You wouldn’t know it from the amount of news articles that ran anyway, but I was actually on vacation last week. Some items did slip through the cracks, though, and among them are some 4″ Avengers Age of Ultron figures two-packs. None of the figures are exactly “new”, and they’re exclusive to Toys R Us stores–but hey, they’ve got more than 5 points of articulation! That’s something, right…?

Marvel Collector Corps May 2015 Unboxing Avengers Age of Ultron

I had a whirlwind romance with Loot Crate that started last fall and turned out to be short-lived. While I’ve enjoyed a couple Marvel items, for the most part I’ve thrown away the junk that comes as monthly “loot”. But while my honeymoon with LootCrate is over, a new subscription box infatuation has begun! The inaugural Funko Marvel Collector Corps April 2015 box has now arrived, and was the most fun I’ve ever had unboxing a mystery box…

Marvel Retro Sofubi Medicom Rocket Raccoon & Hulk Vinyls!

Medicom Rocket Raccoon Retro Marvel Sofubi Figure

Over my years of attending cons, I’ve passed people wearing shirts with the slogan “Anime: Crack is Cheaper” dozens of times. Well, I think that motto could be modified a bit into a very appropriate “Collecting Vinyl Figures: Crack is Cheaper”. I have a serious vinyl figure addiction that extends to many lines–but not the Medicom Marvel Retro Sofubi line. At least, not until now–the Retro Rocket Raccoon & Hulk Sofubi figures are now up for order!

C2E2 2015 Marvel Select Doctor Strange Figure

I’m a homebody and try my absolute hardest not to go any further away from New England than New York (although London is looking good next summer).

Luckily, I’ve got friends without those compunctions, and one of them was kind enough to take photos of the new Marvel figures at the Diamond Select Toys booth at C2E2 2015 today–including the Marvel Select Doctor Strange and the big reveal of the two top-secret Avengers Age of Ultron Minimates figures!

Kotobukiya Wolverine Brown Costume Statue Released

With Bowen Designs still on hiatus until further notice (if not forever), sixth scale Marvel statue collectors are suffering from some serious withdrawal. With quarter-scale statues being all the rage these days, collectors with limited space–or who just plain prefer something smaller–have had to turn to the only other company producing Marvel 1/6 statues: Kotobukiya. And after a long wait, the first 1/6 Kotobukiya Marvel statue of 2015 has arrived: the Danger Room Sessions Brown Costume Wolverine statue!
