While I only spent a combined total of about 12 hours at the New York Toy Fair 2015 in February (and 36 hours fighting through a snowstorm to get home), I got to see just about everything exciting that was on display at the event. And by “just about”, I mean there was one item I really wanted to see but circumstances caused me to miss. I woke up this morning to the terrifying realization that there was no caffeine in the house. Seeking to avert this catastrophe, I decided to do an early-morning Target run, even though I wasn’t on the hunt for anything of the non-caffeinated variety. Luckily, I don’t think I’ve ever been in a Target in my entire life without checking the toy department, so I had to do a quick check–and discovered some figures I didn’t even know were out! The sorta-awaited 4″ Hasbro Avengers Age of Ultron Scarlet Witch, Iron Legion, War Machine and more have now been released!

Diamond Select Toys can be pretty hit or miss with releasing movie Marvel Minimates in time for a new flick’s theatrical release, as corresponding Minimates sometimes hit months after a film’s release.
But the first set of Avengers Age of Ultron Minimates was right on schedule and is currently on store shelves–and now we can look forward to Avengers Age of Ultron Minimates Wave 2 arriving late this summer, including Vision, Bruce Banner, Hulk and Hulkbuster Iron Man!

Given the thousands of dollars of Hot Toys Avengers Age of Ultron figures that have gone up for pre-order in the past few months, I really thought that Hot Toys might be giving their collectors a week off from the financially-crippling onslaught of new pre-orders. While the Hasbro Marvel Legends Infinite Series 3 3/4″ figures are back in 2015 for another year, the style and articulation level of new molds have undergone a drastic change going forward. This switch hasn’t exactly been met with open arms by collectors, but I decided to pick up the new Black Cat figure for review anyway.

I’m very fond of Marvel Toy News’ track record of only having reported news that’s ended up being 100% true since the site’s inception, so I tend to err on the side of caution with what gets reported here. As such, when a totally unannounced Marvel Legends 5-Pack consisting entirely of old molds turned up in an auction listing–on April Fools’ Day–I hesitated to report it. But as it turns out, looks like I’m the fool–Hasbro has now confirmed that this European Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Legends 5-Pack is the real deal!

The Cavalry has arrived!! Heading into New York Toy Fair 2015 this weekend, I didn’t have a lot of hope for seeing many new Marvel POP! Vinyls, as Funko just revealed eight Funko Avengers Age of Ultron POP Vinyls last month. And on my first visit to the Funko booth at NY Toy Fair 2015, the only new item I saw was the Deadpool Chimichanga Truck. But once I flipped through the catalog at my hotel, I realized one more new Marvel POP! was at the show: the Funko Melinda May from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

The year is off to a controversial start for the long-running Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series (AKA Marvel Universe) toy line, as prices for the line are at an all-time high and articulation has been reduced to an all-time low. That said, the first wave of 2015 Marvel Infinite Series had some strong figures in it, and based off the case ratios and prototypes, the next wave will have some hot characters in it as well.
