Mark XLV Iron Man Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series Figure

With no new Marvel Legends figures hitting retail and two months until the arrival of the Ant-Man movie, It seemed like May 2015 was going to be a pretty quiet and cheap month for Marvel figure collectors. Note the emphasis on “was”. See, last Friday the Hot Toys Vision figure appeared. And then yesterday the amazing Spider-Man Premium Format Figure went up for order. Here’s a Marvel toys fact that may blow some minds: even with the increasing multitude of Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format Figures being released each year, there’s only been one classic red-and-blue Spider-Man Premium Format Figure released. Bandai SH Figuarts Hulkbuster Iron Man Action Figure

When Bandai Japan first debuted their lineup of SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures, there was an imposing shadow in the background that may have generated more discussion and hype than all of the figures Bandai actually showed combined. That silhouette… belong to Hulkbuster Iron Man. Considering the size and sure-to-be-crippling price of such a figure, I was skeptical Bandai Tamashii Nations would tackle such a beast. But it’s true! The monstrous SH Figuarts Hulkbuster Iron Man goes up for order at the end of this month–and he will be coming with a monstrous price to match…

DST Marvel Select Cable Figure 2015

Diamond Select Toys rarely lets us down with their top-quality releases, so every time I bust open a new Marvel Select action figure, I’m ready for it to be another grand slam. But sometimes it’s not a grand slam–sometimes, it’s more like a triple. Still something outstanding to get excited about, but not quite as jaw-dropping. That’s about how I feel about the Marvel Select Cable figure released this spring. You can still grab the Marvel Select Cable for below retail price and with free shipping online–but is this the right Cable action figure for you? Read on…

Avengers Age of Ultron Vision Hot Toys Head Close-Up Paul Bettany

I get at least one or two E-Mails every day asking me when I think a major Avengers Age of Ultron Vision, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch figures are coming. The answer is always the same: “The Hot Toys versions will be the only ones up for sale this year.” It’s enormously frustrating to hear, but it’s reality.

But maybe that harsh reality will be a little easier to accept after today, as the MMS296 Hot Toys Vision figure is now available for order!

Funko Hikari Blue Deadpool Exclusive Figure Packaged

Remember that Marvel Comics crossover from a few years ago called “Siege”, where the Sentry rips Ares in half? Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select 2015 Hulk Figure 9"

When Diamond Select Toys announced the three figures making up the totality of their Avengers Age of Ultron Marvel Select lineup, the choices weren’t met with universal praise. In fact, many collectors turned their noses up entirely at the AOU Hulk and Thor figures. But now that the Avengers 2 Marvel Select Hulk figure I ordered online has arrived, it’s very clear to me that (redo or not) this is an outstanding (and humongous) movie Hulk action figure that utterly smashes every other AOU Hulk figure released thus far…

Just hearing the word “limited edition” will get me to sit up straight and take notice without fail. And as usual, Funko is ready to capitalize on this phenomenon. Coming soon to Hot Topic stores–numbered, limited edition Marvel Funko POP Vinyl T-Shirts!

Marvel Legends Vision Figure Packaged Avengers Series 3

Hasbro must have heard that I was out buying a house today to put more toys into, because when I got home, I’d received an E-Mail with photos of a bunch of new figures that will be joining my (really) extended family this summer! Though we’ve seen and heard exactly zip about the figures since they debuted at New York Toy Fair 2015 (and they won’t go up for pre-order for a little while yet), the official packaged and unpackaged photos of the Hasbro 6″ Marvel Legends Avengers Series 3 figures have now been released!

Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz Figures Released

Ever since I saw them at the Funko booth at the New York Toy Fair 2015 back in February, visions of Vinyl Sugar Dorbz figures have danced in my head. I got my grubby hands on the debut figure in the first Marvel Collector Corps box, but today I received what I was really waiting for–my Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz arrived from Entertainment Earth! And now that I’ve had a chance to photograph and play with them all, I can confidently say that they are every bit as a-DORBZ-able as I expected…

Walmart Exclusive Hulk Buster Mashers Figure Released

Most recent Marvel movies have had a clear breakout character, be it Hulk, Loki or the Winter Soldier. Avengers: Age of Ultron is a little bit weird, though, in that its breakout star isn’t a new character at all–it’s an armor! Having generated more hype and merch than just about any other character, it’s a surprise that the kid-focused Marvel Mashers line hasn’t gotten its own Hulkbuster before now. But the wait is at an end–the Mashers Hulkbuster Iron Man has arrived… and it’s exclusive to Walmart!

Marvel Dorbz Series 1 Figures

I have a big problem with Marvel vinyl figures. And the problem is that I can’t stop buying them. It used to be that relatively few vinyl Marvel figures got released each year–but with Funko’s explosion in popularity, the number of Marvel vinyls being released is at an all-time high. At some point I’m going to have to draw the line somewhat (for space purposes if not monetary ones)–but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to kick the addiction anytime soon! The Marvel Dorbz Series 1 figures are now up for order, and spoilers–they are a-DORBZ-able!

Hot Topic Exclusive Funko POP Vinyls Black Storm Variant Figure

Ororo Monroe–Storm–has been the subject of some of the longest-running debates in X-Men history. “Who is the most famous X-Woman: Storm or Jean Grey?” “Who is Storm’s OTP: Forge, Black Panther, or Wolverine?” “Who is the greatest leader of the X-Men: Storm or Cyclops?” And perhaps the biggest question of them all: “Which is Storm’s most iconic costume: black or white?” While Funko initially sided with Team White Costume, there’s hope for the other camp: the Hot Topic Exclusive Funko Black Costume Storm has now turned up for sale online and in some Hot Topic stores!
