Marvel Disney Infinity 2.0 Yondu Figure Confirmed!

Disney Infinity Yondu Figure

Poor Yondu gets no respect. Hasbro passed him by for the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy series. There’s no Hot Toys Yondu figure in the works, nor is there a LEGO Yondu minifigure on the way. Even Funko opted to leave Yondu out of the first series of Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP! Vinyls figures. But finally, Yondu is about to get his due! Today, Disney announced that a Disney Infinity Yondu figure is in development, and Yondu will be a playable character in the Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel video game!

Marvel Disney Infinity Guardians of the Galaxy Figures Pre-Order!

Disney Infinity Rocket Raccoon Figure Packaged

If you’re like me (and you must be at least a little bit like me, or you wouldn’t be on this blog reading this post), you were woefully disappointed that no developer stepped up to bat to create a Guardians of the Galaxy video game to coincide with the blockbuster movie’s release. (Movie tie-in video games are almost always duds, mind you, but it would have been nice nonetheless.) But fear not, fellow Guardians of the Galaxy fanatics! Disney themselves is going to fill the void and give us the Guardians of the Galaxy gaming action we’ve been craving–and toys to go with it! The Disney Infinity Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set and all five members of the Disney Infinity Guardians of the Galaxy figures are now up for order!

Marvel Infinite Series Cyclops Figure Review & Photos

Marvel Infinite Series Cyclops Figure Review

A couple weeks back I reviewed the 2014 X-Men Marvel Legends Cyclops figure. That 6″ Cyclops figure had its share of flaws and failed to impress me, but Hasbro had one other Cyclops figure lined up for this year: the previously-canceled Marvel Universe Astonishing Cyclops figure.

I had high enough hopes for this long-delayed 4″ figure that I didn’t mind ordering Cyclops online, but ultimately the Marvel Infinite Series Cyclops figure ended up disappointing me as well…

Canceled Wolverine Marvel Legends Rogue Prototype For Sale!

X-Men Marvel Legends Rogue Puck Build-A-Figure Canceled Figure Carded Sample

I don’t typically report on ebay auctions, but sometimes something gets posted that makes me really sit up and take notice. Such was the case with the unpackaged sample of the Marvel Legends Phoenix Five Cyclops figure that was posted earlier in the year, and even more so in the case of the latest Marvel Legends holy grail of all holy grails to make its appearance online: a packaged sample of the canceled Wolverine Marvel Legends Rogue figure has turned up for sale online! But if you want this Rogue prototype, you’re going to have to be prepared to shell out at least the cost of three or four Premium Format statues…

Avengers Age of Ultron Movie Vision Sideshow Statue Coming?

Avengers Age of Ultron Vision Movie Concept Art

We only talk about Marvel toys and collectibles here on Marvel Toy News, which means that I rarely get the pleasure of talking about concept art and designs for upcoming Marvel Studios movies. But today, I’ve got a news item that just barely squeaks into the realm of collectibles, as the originally-leaked image of this concept art was stamped all over with the word “Sideshow”–referring to one of the world’s biggest producers of high-end Marvel collectibles, Sideshow Collectibles. Based off that leaked image, it may be time to start looking forward to a Sideshow Avengers Age of Ultron Vision movie statue in 2015!

Well, then I may have just the statue company for you! The Singapore-based XM Studios is perhaps the biggest up-and-comer in the Marvel high-end collectibles world, and at this weekend’s STGCC 2014 (Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention 2014) they’re showing off a near-finished prototype of their newest Marvel Premium Collectibles Statue: Phoenix (Jean Grey)!

Funko X-Men POP Vinyls Revealed! Cyclops Storm Colossus!

Classic X-Men Funko POP Vinyls

I’m turning 29 today for the fourth time, and Funko is giving me exactly the Marvel toy news birthday present that I would wished for (presuming a new Bowen Designs Marvel contract wasn’t an option): a half-dozen new classic X-Men Funko POP! Vinyls figures are up for order! Astonishingly, the armada of Funko POP Vinyls figures released up until now contained only three X-Men characters among the hundreds and hundreds of different POP Vinyls out there. But come November 2014, the count is about to be tripled…

Marvel Mashers Iceman & Ghost Rider Figures Released!

Marvel Super Hero Mashers Ghost Rider Figure Packaged

These are dark and troubling times indeed when I drop what I’m doing and race off to Target on a tip that new Marvel Super Hero Masher figures have been released, but such are the times we find ourselves in.

Online stores received the latest case of basic Mashers last month, but physical stores have been way behind and buried in unsellable Hawkeye figures. But finally, the new Marvel Mashers Iceman and Ghost Rider figures have begun hitting retail stores this week!

Funko Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyls Review & Photos

Funko Rocket Raccoon POP Vinyl Figure Review

This has been an unusually quiet week for Marvel toy news, but that’s fine with me, as I’ve got a huge backlog of stuff to photograph and review. In fact, things have been so busy this summer that I never even got around to reviewing one of my favorite Funko figures of the entire year.

It’s the figure I liked so much, I bought it three times (once with flocked fur and once with an, uh, exclusive sticker): the Guardians of the Galaxy Funko POP! Vinyls Rocket Raccoon figure!

Marvel Vinylmation Green Goblin & Mary Jane Variants Found!

Marvel Vinylmation Mary Jane Variant Figure

In the early days of the Disney Vinylmation figures line, the rarest blind-box figures out there were the Vinylmation Mystery Chasers that were packed at one-per-case. But things have changes in the last few years, and now there’s something even rarer: Vinylmation variants. Packed at far less than one per case, the Marvel Vinylmation variants from Series 1 of Phasing Vision and Bearded Thor have long been the most valuable Vinylmation Marvel figures. They now have some competition, though–Vinylmation Green Goblin and Mary Jane variants have now appeared and are selling for $150-$300 each!

Vinylmation Marvel Kingpin Chaser Figure Revealed!

Disney Vinylmation Kingpin Chaser Vinylmation Marvel Series 2 Spider-Man

When Disney announced the lineup of figures in Vinylmation Marvel Series 2 last month, visions immediately began to dance in collectors’ heads of what spectacular, beloved character would be the “mystery chaser” that wouldn’t be revealed until the cases were released. The most popular theories were for a Vinylmation Carnage, Gwen Stacy or Doc Ock chaser. Well, the Vinylmation Spider-Man series was officially released yesterday, and now we know the chaser’s identity. Though the immediate response has been disappointment, the Marvel Vinylmation Kingpin Chaser has been revealed!

Marvel Unlimited Exclusive Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon Figure!

Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon Variant Figure Marvel Unlimited Plus

2014 has been the unofficial Year of Rocket Raccoon, with more Rocket Raccoon figures and toys being released in this year than every other year of Rocket’s 38 years of existent combined. Everything is perfect so long as you want movie-style Rocket Raccoon collectibles–but comic-based Rocket Raccoon toys have been non-existent in 2014. Luckily, Hasbro is stepping up to give us a new Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon exclusive repaint–but he won’t come cheap…

Funko Big Hero 6 POP Vinyls Figures Revealed & Photos!

Big Hero Six Funko POP Vinyl Figures

Anybody besides me who’s read every Big Hero 6 comic book every published–when they were published–raise your hands. Anybody? Anybody…? I didn’t think so. And if you haven’t read the original Big Hero Six comic books, be grateful, as you may not be quite as dubious about the massive departure Disney is taking from the source material for the upcoming Big Hero 6 movie as I am. But not everyone is as jaded as me–Funko has their confidence up high and has just put up for order a jam-packed series of seven Big Hero Six POP! Vinyls figures!

Hot Toys Peacemaker Iron Man Exclusive Figure Up for Order!

Exclusive Hot Toys Iron Man Peacemaker Figure with Light-Up Features

I woke up this morning to the most beautiful orange sight that I’ve ever seen in my life. No, it’s not something as disgustingly romantic as the sunrise (and I haven’t been awake early enough for the sunrise in about a decade). The sight I’m talking about is even more breathtaking–at least, from a hopelessly addicted Marvel collector’s point of view. For I awoke today and immediately set my gaze upon the official announcement of the most orange Iron Man armor ever–the MMS 258 Hot Toys Peacemaker Iron Man Summer 2014 exclusive figure is now up for order!
