I haven’t even had a chance to uploads all of my photos from the NYCC 2014 Diamond Select Toys booth and talk about all of the goodness that they brought to the show, but DST has already unleashed their next release upon us!
It’s the third Disney Store exclusive Marvel Select figure of 2014, and it’s another variation of a headliner character: the all-new Marvel Select Bleeding Edge Iron Man figure is now up for order!

If I wasn’t expecting Square-Enix to debut a Marvel Play Arts Kai variant figures line at New York Comic Con 2014 by unexpectedly showing off the Play Arts Kai Iron Man figure (and I was not), then I definitely wasn’t expecting the second figure from the line to be revealed as well.
Square-Enix oftentimes likes to take their dear sweet time, but I guess they were just too excited about Play Arts Kai Spider-Man to wait!

This summer Kotobukiya began teasing Marvel collectors about their next line of Marvel NOW! ARTFX+ statues that would be following up the hit Avengers ARTFX+ series.
Once Kotobukiya declared the series would be of another ultra-popular Marvel superhero team, it didn’t take a genius to guess who Kotobukiya was talking about, but today Kotobukiya announced it officially at NYCC 2014: the Kotobukiya X-Men ARTFX+ statues series will begin in 2015!

I had a terrible first hour and a half at New York Comic Con 2014 this year, as I immediately got into the Toy Tokyo line at show opening at noon. At 1:25, after 85 minutes and moving four steps forward, I flipped out and walked off.
BUT–!!
It was worth my meaningless hour and a half in line, because when storming off I caught sight of the just-revealed Funko Hikari Groot vinyl figures!

Rather than having a physical presence at New York Comic Con 2014 itself, Hasbro again held a night-before-NYCC party last night where they debuted a small handful of figures.
Not a whole lot of interest was shown, but the first two Avengers Age of Ultron Marvel Legends 2015 figures did make their debut: Captain America and the Hulk! Are they everything I ever hoped and dreamed of?

Marvel Comics has essentially divorced itself from the upcoming Disney Big Hero 6 movie in every conceivable way. The Marvel Comics logo is absent from virtually all promotional materials and they’ve basically said that there will be no new Big Hero 6 comic books now or in the foreseeable future–not even new reprints in trade paperback form. I’ve been a Big Hero Six fan since 1998, so I’m not ready to give up on the franchise just yet (that is, not unless the Big Hero 6 movie really, really sucks). And while the Big Hero 6 toys definitely have their flaws, they have some positives worth commending as well…

LEGO Marvel collectors got a highly unexpected–and highly expensive–surprise this weekend when a totally unannounced LEGO Marvel minifigure polybag sold online for $187 after being given out at a LEGO KidsFest event in Virginia.
This minifigure polybag is going to be of major interest to LEGO Marvel completists, because the LEGO 5002125 polybag is currently the only known way to get an Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie Electro LEGO minifigure!

When I say that Funko loves exclusives, I really, really mean it. The chances of Funko not releasing or announcing a Funko exclusive of some sort in any given week are about equivocal to the chances of the world ceasing to spin. So another Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl exclusive for Comic Con is nothing to be astonished about. What will catch some people off-guard, however, is that the Funko Blue Stealth Iron Man POP! Vinyl is a 2014 Rhode Island Comic Con exclusive…

Ordinarily, I absolutely can’t stand ruthless, pure evil villains that have no mercy and no soul. Those types of villainous characters typically evoke no sympathy at all and are flat-out boring to read about. Usually. But there’s an exception to every rule–and in this case, his name is Carnage! The 90’s are back in style, and Carnage is finally getting more long-deserved merch in 2015. And the most high-end and impressive Carnage collectible coming out is definitely the Kotobukiya Carnage Fine Arts Statue is now up for order!

Well, this is new. We’ve learned about Marvel Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series sixth scale figures in a variety of ways before, but I am reasonably sure that this is the first time a new Hot Toys Marvel figure has ever been revealed via… small sticker on the front of a Japanese Blu-Ray (does that make the X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray a must for Hot Toys collectors? I wonder…). The Hot Toys X-Men Days of Future license was announced way back in 2013, and it looks like in 2015 Hot Toys may actually have a figure lined up for us–the Hot Toys Days of Future Past Wolverine figure!

Funko didn’t get quite as much money from Marvel POP! Vinyls collectors at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 as they would have liked (with Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP Vinyl being the only SDCC 2014 Marvel POP Vinyls exclusive), but they’re making up for missed chances (and dollars!) on the fall 2014 convention circuit. A few weeks back the NYCC 2014 Funko Frost Giant Loki POP Vinyls debuted, and now the Comikaze 2014 exclusives have been announced: Funko POP Vinyls Glow-in-the-Dark Storm and Unmasked Captain America!

It used to be that you could count on any new Marvel line of toys or collectibles beginning with one of the “go to” headliner characters of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America or Iron Man.
Things have clearly changed a little bit, as the hottest character at Marvel is a little bit less heroic (and a whole lot more insane!) and Sideshow is planning to capitalize! The Sideshow exclusive Deadpool sixth scale figure is now up for order!

Given that Baby Groot is all the rage after his breakout popularity following the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, it’s not a shocker that some Marvel merchandiser would cash in on the Baby Groot phenomenon with a life-size Baby Groot statue. What is a bit surprising, however, is the company doing so.
Dragon Models doesn’t get a whole lot of headlines, but they’ve earned this one today–the Dragon Models 7″ Baby Groot life-size model is up for order!

Funko is the king of exclusive toys in 2014. There’s literally no question about it. Funko quite frankly produces more limited exclusives across their POP! Vinyls, Hikari and Mystery Mini figures in a single year than basically every other major toy company out there all put together. And oftentimes, I love Funko exclusives a whole lot more than I do their regular releases. But sometimes, Funko comes up with an exclusive that is just unspeakably lame. Coming this fall, it’s the second black-and-white Loki in under a year–the Hot Topic Exclusive Funko Black & White Loki POP! Vinyl!

How much Deadpool is too much Deadpool? You probably reach a saturation point where you’ve just plain had enough Deadpool–but I haven’t reached that point yet. And apparently, neither has Funko! Funko has decided to bring the Deadpool POP! Vinyl mold out of retirement (it was a short retirement), and add to the already double-digit list of Deadpool Funko POP Vinyls figures. In just one month, we can add to the Deadpool rainbow, as the blue-and-yellow Funko Deadpool X-Men Outfit POP! Vinyl figure is now available for order!
