I probably own more action figures of Spider-Man than any other Marvel character. In fact, I probably own more Spider-Man action figures than any other character, period. So it isn’t very often that a new Spidey figure goes up for order that I’m really, really excited about. But today, Diamond Select Toys surprised me with just such a figure, as it’s the most comic book-y Spidey around: the Marvel Shop Exclusive Marvel Select Spectacular Spider-Man is now up for order! With the light blue costume and Peter Parker head, this is gonna be my favorite Marvel Select Spidey ever…

Captain America Civil War Minimates Figures Revealed!

Almost a full month ago, Diamond Select Toys announced the entire specialty stores lineup when the Marvel Minimates Captain America: Civil War figures series went up for order. At that time, we knew the identities of the figures making up the series, but could only see them in blacked-out silhouette form. But this week, DST did the grand unveiling of the set–and we not only got to see the grand unveiling of the figures we knew about, but also the Toys R Us exclusive Hawkeye and Vision Minimates that we didn’t!

While I thought it was going to be a quiet week due to that “Star Wars” thing going around, it turns out that we’re actually getting bombarded with fresh Marvel toy news! And one of the new items announced regards one of the hottest characters of the past two years: Lady Thor!

Diamond Select Toys drew first blood with their Lady Thor Minimates figure earlier this year, and now they’re turning to the statue front: the Lady Thor Femme Fatales statue is now up for order!

When Diamond Select Toys opted to release a comics-based Marvel Select Winter Soldier figure back in 2014 instead of a movie-based version of the character to coincide with the release of the “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” movie, there was much whining to be heard throughout the Marvel Figure Collecting Land. But next year, DST is finally giving those fans what they want: the Marvel Select Captain America Civil War figures are now up for order, and they include movie-based Bucky Barnes, Captain America and Iron Man Mark 45 figures!

Though I was already running a fever and had mucus pouring out of my nose (isn’t that a lovely picture?) by the time I got to the Minimates panel at New York Comic Con 2015 last Thursday night, I stayed for the entire panel to make sure I didn’t miss anything important. And it’s a good thing I did, because Diamond Select Toys announced an entire series of Minimates that weren’t on display on the actual show floor! Coming in early 2016–the Walgreens exclusive Marvel Minimates Series 2 figures, including Taskmaster, Gamora, Thanos and more!

Way back at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 (you know–two months ago), Diamond Select Toys announced that they were reentering the Marvel statue business with their revived line of Clayburn Moore Marvel Premier Collection statues! The line kicked off with a Wolverine statue that didn’t receive the warmest reception from some collectors, but the second release in the line is a statue fans have been demanding for a decade: the long-lost Silver Age Thor statue by Clayburn Moore is now up for order!
