While the Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends 6″ figures that just hit stores in the last week or have been hogging all of the headlines, those aren’t the only mass-release Amazing Spider-Man 2 action figures Hasbro has lined up for us!
Just released in stores, we also have the 4″ Amazing Spider-Man 2 figures, including movie Electro and such uh, “creative” concepts as “Blitz Board Spider-Man”, “Slash Gauntlet Spider-Man” and more!

There’s probably not a whole lot of folks out there that collect them, but I know for a fact that Marvel Micro Muggs collectors do exist! And for those collectors, this is the time to get psyched up, because Hasbro has brought Micro Muggs back to stores with new assortment of twelve Avengers Micro Muggs blind boxed figures! My Target finally reset and put out these Avengers Assemble Micro Muggs that were sitting in the back room for weeks, and while I’ve avoided being bitten by the Micro Muggs bug up until now, that was before Micro Muggs Loki and MODOK…

Despite the frigid sub-zero temperature outside today (and if it wasn’t sub-zero, it sure felt like it was), I made the trek to my nearest comic book store to pick up Peter David’s All-New X-Factor #1. Unfortunately, it wasn’t there–the shipment of that comic was delayed by the weather. But since I was already at the comic book store at that point, I figured I might as well blow a quick 17 bucks on some other comics, including the Marvel NOW! Black Widow #1. This is the comic book that desperately wants to be Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye–but is it up to that high standard…?

Funko brings out a multitude of Marvel POP! Vinyls figures for virtually every single Marvel movie that hits theaters, so it was only a matter of time and patience until we saw Funko’s offerings for the next major Marvel film! I thought perhaps Funko was saving their Captain America: The Winter Soldier POP Vinyls to debut at the New York Toy Fair 2014 next month, but that was not to be! Instead, the quartet of Winter Soldier figures are up for order today, including the first-ever Funko Black Widow and not one but two versions of The Winter Soldier himself!

I went out this morning to pick up this week’s comic books and search for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 & Captain America Marvel Legends 2014 figures, and for a nice change my search wasn’t totally in vain. I stumbled across a full case of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Marvel Legends figures on the pegs (and yes, I bought all a full set to review this month), as well as the full assortment of Hasbro Super Soldier Gear Captain America: The Winter Soldier 3 3/4″ figures. And hey, these Marvel Universe-scale Winter Soldier figures aren’t all bad…

Funko confirmed that there would be Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP Vinyls figures coming in 2014 during “The 12 Days of Funko” quasi-event last month, and we thankfully, we don’t have to wait all that long to get our first gander at them!
No, Funko isn’t ready to show off the official Guardians of the Galaxy POP Vinyl glamor shots just yet, but we are lucky enough to get to see the unpainted prototypes of the Funko Groot, Starlord and Drax POP! Vinyls…

Prepare yourselves well for what is a true shocker, Marvel collectors. The end times may truly be upon us.
The portent of this impending doom…? Hasbro is actually going to be releasing some of their notorious-for-never-coming-out Marvel Legends variant figures. Ebay listings have turned up for the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Boomerang, Toxin and Spider-Girl figures, confirming that these figures are in fact currently in production and should be released in a few months time…

Right before Christmas, Funko dropped the bombshell for Funko Marvel collectors that the first-ever Marvel Mystery Minis series of vinyl figures would be released in 2014!
I really didn’t think we’d be seeing any prototype photos until Toy Fair 2014, but Funko has now released early images of all 18 Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Series 1 figures–including what has to be the cutest Green Goblin ever…

After a long drought of news regarding the Avengers Infinite Series 3 3/4″ line (which was replaces the Hasbro Marvel Universe line in 2014), in the past two weeks we’ve learned virtually everything there is to know about Avengers Infinite Series 1. A confirmed lineup and hi-res images appeared during the holidays, and today Hasbro is allowing retailers to take orders for Avengers Infinite Series 1 figures and cases, thus revealing the case ratios! Though, sad to say, Wasp fans will not be happy…

I gripe about Hasbro an awful lot, but occasionally Hasbro truly does come through for Marvel collectors. Defying expectations, Hasbro has allowed retailers to start taking pre-orders for a previously unannounced 2014 case of Marvel Universe figures! While the case isn’t confirmed to have any new characters (and only has the potential to have one new figure: Northstar), Marvel Universe 2014 Wave 1 is pretty much the star-studded case collectors have been hoping for…

In what has to be one of the most bizarrely early possible reveals in ages, a leaked image has started making the rounds online of what some believe to be the Hasbro Marvel Legends 2014 SDCC exclusive set. Yes, that San Diego Comic Con 2014–the one that’s more than six months out from now. It seems way too early for a reveal of this nature, but here’s our first look at the alleged SDCC 2014 Marvel Legends Original X-Men boxset! Whether it’s legit or not remains to be seem…

While it’s pretty clear that the Kotobukiya Marvel Fine Arts Statues line is nowhere near the most popular or prolific line of Marvel high-end collectibles, the few products that Kotobukiya releases in this lineup each year are often gems. So while Hot Toys gets all the hype and fanfare for their new Starboost Iron Man 1/6 figure they’ve just put up for pre-order, Kotobukiua has a pretty big just-solicited item of its own to promote: the monstrously massive Kotobukiya Juggernaut Fine Arts Statue is now available for order!

We’re only on the second day of 2014, but the time has arrived for the first major Marvel pre-order of the new year! And this will sound unbelievable, but I swear that I willed this pre-order into existence by posting the Marvel Hot Toys 2014 Release Schedule last night. See, while I was lamenting the $2500 of my future money that Hot Toys had already claimed, I was simultaneously wondering if the Starboost Iron Man would ever go up for order. Hot Toys must have heard my thoughts, because the Hot Toys Starboost Iron Man Mark XXXIX Movie Masterpiece Series 1/6 figure is now available for order with no deposit required!

If there’s one company that I’m finding I really need to plan my collecting budget around for the entire year, it’s Hot Toys and their amazing (but oh-so-expensive) Marvel Movie Masterpiece Series figures. While I was drawing out my 2014 budget today (yes, I waited until January 1st, 2014 to do so), I realized there were quite a few more Hot Toys Marvel MMS figures already announced for 2014 than I thought, so I had to adjust my outlook accordingly. I figured some other Hot Toys collectors are probably having the same problem as me, so I thought I’d share my Marvel Hot Toys 2014 release schedule to help other fans plan out their future Hot Toys-induced debt…

Over the years, I’ve made a lot of great new toy discoveries on New Year’s Eve toy runs. This was not one of those years. I went out today in search of the Hasbro Marvel Legends 2014 figures, and I (mostly) struck out. But what I found instead were some monstrosities that I had heard about–but decided in my mind couldn’t possibly be real. Check out the very first (and hopefully only) series of Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures… starring Captain Iron Spider-Hulk and more!
