2013 has been a tough year for mini busts. The mini bust genre pioneer, Bowen Designs, only released a handful of mini busts this year and has zero (yes, zero) Marvel mini busts in the pipeline. Gentle Giant has continued fighting the good fight, but with low edition sizes the norm and prices far higher than they were a decade ago, mini busts’ days may be numbered. But there’s some hope–at least one more Marvel mini bust is now confirmed for 2014: the Gentle Giant 2014 PGM Exclusive Daredevil Mini-Bust!

This is a crazy, crazy world that we live in.

I griped an awful lot last month when Diamond Select Toys announced that they were reissued the Marvel Select Spider-Woman figure. I complained that it didn’t make sense to re-release the Jessica Drew Spider-Woman Marvel Select action figure (as that figure typically sells below its original cost on the aftermarket), when they should have reissued the more valuable Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman II Marvel Select figure. Well, it seems I was just a bit hasty, as the Marvel Select Arachne variant action figure is heading back to stores in 2014!
