Funko Thor The Dark World Thor with Helmet POP Vinyls Hot Topic Exclusive Figure

You never know what you’re going to find while walking around New York Comic Con, but one thing I definitely wasn’t expecting any of the dealers at NYCC 2013 to have at the show was something that I hadn’t seen before (because, you know–I’m pretty well-informed). Even so, one of the dealer booths at last weekend’s 2013 NYCC managed to surprise me by having a few Funko POP! Vinyls I hadn’t seen before, including the fabled Funko Thor The Dark World Thor with Helmet POP Vinyl figure…

Zombie Venom Marvel Zombies Mini Bust Revealed

Though Gentle Giant Ltd. didn’t attend last weekend’s 2013 New York Comic Con event, they had a minor presence at the show in the form of their Marvel Zombies Magneto mini bust exclusive that was sold at the Marvel booth. In addition, Gentle Giant sent out E-Mails and unveiled several new products in honor of NYCC 2013 during the show, including the second in the series of Marvel Zombies mini-busts: the Gentle Giant 2014 Zombie Venom bust!

NYCC 2013: Play Imaginative Iron Monger & Whiplash Figures!

NYCC 2013 Whipslash 1/12 Super Alloy Iron Man 2 Whiplash Figure

Something I have literally been looking forward to for months is the opportunity to see the Play Imaginative Iron Man Super Alloy figures in person. I’d seen online images of the figures earlier this year, but they didn’t seem like anything special or worth their hefty price tags. But then I heard the hosts of Marvelicious Toys podcast rave about the line in their Episode 92 SDCC 2013 coverage, and I knew had to see these for myself. Finally seeing the 1/12 Iron Man Movie figures like Iron Monger, Armored Whiplash and Disco Iron Man at NYCC 2013 this weekend, my heart rejoiced while my wallet cringed in agony…

NYCC 2013: Kotobukiya Marvel Now Hawkeye & Thor Statues Photos!

Hawkeye Kotobukiya ARTFFX+ Statue 1/10 Scale Prototype

After a pretty wild time at New York Comic Con 2013, I’m back to continue on with my Marvel coverage of the event! One booth I was particularly interested in checking out was the Kotobukiya booth. Since Kotobukiya fully-revealed the Avengers Now Black Widow ARFTX+ statue about a week ago, I figured we’d be seeing the painted Marvel Now Captain America statue on display joining her at NYCC 2013. I was totally wrong. At the 2013 NYCC, the brand-new sculpts for the Kotobukiya Marvel Now Hawkeye and Thor ARTFX+ statues were revealed!

NYCC 2013: Captain America Marvel Legends 2014 Infinite Series!

2014 Captain America Marvel Legends Mandroid Build-A-Figure

While Hasbro brought a decent number of new figures to their NYCC 2013 press event to reveal for their 2014 Marvel Legends Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man action figure lines, the amount of new product they had to show for next year’s Captain America push was comparatively low. Even so, there was some neat stuff to be had, such as newly-announced figures for the Marvel Legends Captain America Infinite Series 2014–including the Mandroid Build-A-Figure!

Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2014 Figures Revealed at NYCC 2013!

2014 Spider-Man Legends Carnage Figure Marvel Legends Infinite Series

I wasn’t expecting a whole lot of news to come out from the NYCC 2013 Hasbro Press Event (after all, if there’s a lot of new product to show, why not have a panel at New York Comic Con itself or at least an exhibitor’s booth set up?). To my surprise, Hasbro debuted a significant number of never-seen-before Hasbro Marvel figures, including a series that just may be my favorite 6″ line of next year.

Coming in Spring 2014–the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Infinite Series 6″ figures!

Iron Man Mark 38 Igor Hot Toys Figure Light-Up Features

Considering that Hot Toys showed off the upcoming Iron Man 3 Igor Mark 38 MMS 215 sixth scale figure at event after event throughout the summer, no one can feign surprise that the Hot Toys Igor Iron Man is in development.

But knowing that fact is one thing, and seeing this insanely immense behemoth go up for sale is quite another, and it’s finally happened–the Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Igor Mark XXXVIII figure is now up for order!

Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo Concept Illustration Revealed!

Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo Illustration Concept Drawing

“No. Way. No freaking way.” Those were my words this morning when I woke up and saw the latest news from Kotobukiya. It figures–it just figures–that immediately after I make a post in which my usual distaste for the Kotobukiya Bishoujo statue line shines through, Kotobukiya goes and shows a Marvel Bishoujo statue concept design illustration that blows me out of this world. I never thought they would pick her, but Kotobukiya has selected the one instant-buy female character in the whole Marvel Universe: it’s the Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo statue!

Kotobukiya Avengers ArtFX+ Black Widow Statue Up for Order!

Marvel Now Black Widow Kotobukiya ArtFX Statue

Having toyed with us with teaser photos all last week, on Friday Kotobukiya decided to fully pull back the curtain and reveal the second figure in their line of 2014 Kotobukiya Marvel Now Avengers ArtFX+ Statues: Black Widow!

Kotobukiya has tackled the Black Widow character several times before in their Bishoujo lines, but the Bishoujo Black Widows are way too cheesecake for me. This Kotobukiya Avengers Now Black Widow statue, though? It’s pretty much perfection…

Marvel Minimates Zombies Villains Collection Box Galactus Red Skull Magneto Green Goblin

Sometimes we have to wait months upon months for Marvel Minimates to come out once they’ve been revealed… and sometimes we don’t! Though Diamond Select Toys only unveiled their upcoming set of Marvel Zombies Villains Minimates back in July 2013, they’re already produced and on their way over to America to be sold.

In fact, DST is hoping to have the Marvel Minimates Villains Zombies Collection box set on shelves before Halloween…

Revoltech Iron Man Mark 42 Figure 2013

Japanese company Kaiyodo’s name isn’t quite synonymous with “Marvel figures”, but that’s not to say that they haven’t produced their fair share of them as Revoltech figures. Of course, all but one of those Kaiyodo Revoltech Marvel figures have something in common: they’re all figures of various permutations of the Iron Man armor–and their next release will be no exception! Coming to America in November 2013, the all-new Iron Man 3 Revoltech Iron Man Mark 42 figure is now up for order!

Marvel Select Thor The Dark World Figures Officially Revealed!

Marvel Select Thor The Dark World Thor Figure Packaged

I don’t think Diamond Select Toys was exactly keen on people taking photos of the Thor: The Dark World Marvel Select Jane Foster figure at SDCC 2013 back in July, but we got our first glimpse of the Marvel Select Natalie Portman (and Thor) figures at the show anyway.

It’s been a few months, but Diamond Select is finally ready for the (non-dark) world to see the Dark World figures–it’s the official unveiling of the Thor: The Dark World Jane Foster and Thor Marvel Select figures!

Disney Changes Mind; Marvel Vinylmation NOT Sold in Disney Stores

Marvel Vinylmation Series 1 Thor Figure Trading Card Photo

If that headline sounds absolutely ridiculous to you, it should–it coincides with one of the more bizarre occurrences I’ve seen while collecting Marvel figures or Disney Vinylmation. Despite earlier statements that Disney Vinylmation Marvel Series 1 would be sold in stores–and the display sample figures being sent to the Disney Stores already–Disney has backtracked today and instead decided that the Marvel Vinylmation Series will not be sold in Disney Stores at this time…

UPDATE 10/10/2013: Disney is now saying via their official Vinylmation site that the release is back on and the Vinylmation Marvel Series will in fact be released tomorrow, October 11th 2013.

NYCC 2013 Zombie Magneto Mini Bust Exclusive Gentle Giant LTD

Gentle Giant Marvel Bust collectors went into San Diego Comic-Con 2013 with certain expectations for what characters we might see added to the Marvel Mini Bust line, with certain heavy-hitters like Thor: The Dark World busts and Iron Fist and so forth in mind. What actually debuted at SDCC is a bust I suspect no one was expecting: the Gentle Giant Zombie Magneto Marvel Zombies bust! It’s only been a couple months since the reveal, but the exclusive Marvel Zombies Magneto bust will be up for sale in just one week at New York Comic Con 2013!

Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor Action Figure Set Amazon Exclusive with Tony Stark Figure

I’ve been wondering since the summer when Amazon was going to get around to posting the pre-orders for their exclusive Hasbro Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor figures set. Well, it turns out that evidently they never put pre-orders up for their exclusive set because they weren’t going to have them.

UPDATE: The Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor 4″ six figure set is now back in-stock on Amazon and ready to ship!
