Thor 2 The Dark World Minimates Wave 53 Figures Lineup & Photos

Thor The Dark World Minimates Malekith Figure

It’s pretty hard to believe that it’s October now, which means we’re only a month away from the Thor 2 movie hitting in theaters, as “Thor: The Dark World” will be released on November 8, 2013. Unfortunately, Thor’s been getting snubbed a bit when it comes to Thor: The Dark World figures and collectibles. The good news is that Diamond Select Toys isn’t totally ignoring Thor 2 and is releasing eight Thor The Dark World Minimates figures to specialty stores. The bad news is that the best four figures planned for Thor: The Dark World Minimates aren’t going to be released at all…

Funko Loki Black & White Exclusive POP! Vinyl Figure Announced!

Loki Funko Exclusive POP! Vinyl Thor 2 Black & White

From what I’ve heard, the Loki POP! Vinyl figure that is part of the Funko Thor: The Dark World POP! Vinyls series of figure bobble-heads is far and away the best seller in the bunch. This is hardly a shocker, as the previous POP! Vinyls Loki figures are outrageously expensive and hard-to-get on the aftermarket. What is a bit unexpected is that we’re getting a just-announced exclusive Funko Black and White Loki POP! Vinyl variant for next month’s Comikaze 2013!

NECA Quarter Scale Iron Man Mark VII Battle Damage Figure Close-Up

Is your Hulk Hot Toys figure lonely being the biggest figure in your Sixth Scale figure collection, towering over all of his to-scale comrades? Well, NECA may have just the thing to cure your Hot Toys Hulk’s blues–a new quarter-scale Avengers Iron Man Mark VII figure for Hulk to hang out with! Though this NECA 1/4 scale Iron Man Battle Damage figure is in a totally different from scale from Hulk, NECA’s Tony Stark is just the right to size to make the 18″ Hulk feel like he’s normal and accepted. And not only is this Iron Man figure huge–he’s also pretty good…

2013 New York Comic Con Rocket Raccoon Plush Marvel Exclusive

I’ve done way more than my fair share of whining and complaining about the miniscule amount of Marvel New York Comic Con 2013 exclusives, but I’m ready to take it all back now and fall down on my knees, praising Marvel for their kindness and benevolence. Marvel has just announced the list of exclusives that they’ll have on-hand at NYCC 2013 at the Marvel booth, and one of the items is perhaps my favorite exclusive by any company this year: the Marvel Shop 2013 NYCC Exclusive Rocket Raccoon plush toy!

Kidrobot Marvel Labbit Series Blind Box Vinyl Figures Released!

Marvel Labbit Series Blind Box Case Ratios

One cool thing about being a Marvel collector is that with the sheer magnitude of the number of different items released every year, you’re liable to run into things you didn’t even know existed when you’re out shopping casually. This doesn’t happen to me often (at all), but this weekend I stumbled across one of this year’s most bizarre Marvel lines: the new Kidrobot Marvel Labbit Vinyl Figures Blind Box series! If you’ve ever dreamed of owning Galactus in the form of a small plastic rabbit, now’s your chance…

Thor 2 The Dark World Hasbro Movie Figures Released!

Thor 2 Movie Figures Released Hasbro Toys Dark Elf

I heard reports of the Thor: The Dark World figures from Hasbro hitting stores in decent numbers about a week ago, and this weekend I finally managed to track them down in person.

Unfortunately, it appears that stores forgot to send Hasbro a memo to let them know that there are thousands (maybe millions) of figures of Thor himself still in stores from two years ago…

Hot Toys The Wolverine Hugh Jackman Head Sculpt 2014

I woke up this morning, rolled over, flicked on my iPhone, and found myself staring into the sneering, ticked-off face of Hugh Jackman. It was a good morning.

Out of the blue and defying expectations, Hot Toys abruptly fully-revealed their “The Wolverine” Hot Toys sixth scale figure, based on the summer’s (not-quite) blockbuster Wolverine movie! Coming in 2014, the Hot Toys The Wolverine Movie Masterpiece Series figure is now up for pre-order!

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man 3 & Avengers Sets On Sale!

LEGO Malibu Mansion Assault Box

If you’re like me and buy a gadjillion toys every month, you probably begrudge LEGO for consistently releasing a lot of expensive sets. It used to just be LEGO Star Wars that wanted a piece of my wallet, but LEGO moved in for the kill with last year’s LEGO Avengers and this year’s LEGO Iron Man 3 lines. I managed to resist temptation by both for the most part–but thanks to a pretty decent online sale, I may be about to fall prey and buy a bunch of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets…

Hot Toys Hulk Review Avengers 1:6 Scale Figure MMS 186

Hot Toys Hulk Movie Masterpiece Series Figure Review

I’ve talked a great deal about Marvel Hot Toys figures since I started this blog (especially about the Hot Toys Avengers figures), but I haven’t put forward an official Avengers Hot Toys figure review–until now.

Last week I received the biggest Marvel Hot Toys figure ever released, and though he’s the most atypical figure in the line so far, I figured I’d begin my reviews with him. It’s the absolutely massive beast that is MMS 186: the Avengers Hot Toys Hulk sixth scale figure!

Uncanny X-Men #12 Cover Battle of the Atom

I read a lot of comic books every month, and sometimes I get the itch to review them. As it’s comic books more than any other form of media that fuel my action figure collecting hobby, I’m including comic book reviews here on Marvel Toy News (if you don’t like it, yell at me).

In this installment, I’ll be covering comics released on 9/18/2013, including reviews of Infinity #3, New Avengers #10, Uncanny X-Men #12, Thor God of Thunder #18 and more…

Hot Toys is wagering that you just can’t get enough merch from Iron Man 3, so in honor of the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu Ray being released today, they’ve put up a new item for Iron Man Hot Toys fans to buy–though it’s not exactly the one collectors have been waiting for!

Though Hot Toys collectors have been chomping at the bit, nervously waiting for the chance to pre-order the Hot Toys Midas Iron Man 1/6 scale figure, that will have to wait for another day. Instead, the Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Busts Deluxe Set of 8 is now available for pre-order!

SH Figuarts Black Iron Man Tamashii Nations 2013 Exclusive Figure

Sometimes knowing too much about collecting can be a real drag. Case in point being when you you see the term “Tamashii Nation Exclusive” and instantly let out an audible groan because you know how expensive those are to obtain.

Such is what happened today, when I saw the Tamashii Nation Exclusive Iron Man Mark VI Black Ver. figure announced for release in Japan this November…

Peter Parker POP Vinyls Bobble Head Exclusive Comikazee Expo

Ever since I posted leaked photos from the new Funko book that was out on display at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, I’ve been wondering when and where the elusive Peter Parker Funko POP! Vinyl figure would make itself known. Well, it’s taken several months, but now we know for certain–the Funko Peter Parker POP! Vinyls Bobble-Head figure will be available exclusively at Stan Lee’s Comikazee Expo in Los Angeles, from November 1-3, 2013!

Sideshow Spider-Man J. Scott Campbell Maquette Up for Order

When Sideshow Collectibles put up the teaser images of their upcoming J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man Comiquette statue trio, I was quite certain the only one I’d be getting was Gwen Stacy. I hate Mary Jane as a rule, and I didn’t think the Spider-Man J. Scott Campbell statue would bring anything to the table I hadn’t seen before. I was so wrong, though, as the exclusive version of the J. Scott Campbell Spiderman Comiquette comes with a partially unmasked Peter Parker head that just may be my favorite head for a Spider-Man statue ever–and the Sideshow Exclusive Edition Spider-Man Statue is now up for pre-order!

Vinylmation Marvel Yellowjacket Figure Hank Pym LE 1000

We’ve known for a little while now that Disney is unleashing the first series of Disney Vinylmation Marvel Series #1 next month (it drops October 11, 2013 in the Disney Parks and Disney Stores), but Disney has been teasing us with details little by little. At last weekend’s Disney Reflections of Evil event, Disney finally put on display the prototype figures that will make up the set–including a previously unannounced Marvel Vinylmation Yellowjacket & The Wasp set limited to 1000 produced!
