Last week, Mezco Toyz began “the great money siege of 2015” when they put their very first Marvel ONE:12 Collective figure up for order: modern Captain America. While that was a figure that I couldn’t resist, Cap just whet my appetite for the 1/12th action figure that impressed me more than any other at Toy Fair 2016. And thankfully, I don’t have to wait any longer to get in my reservation! Here comes the Man without Fear: the ONE:12 Collective Daredevil figure is now available for order!

I went to bed early last night, got a good night’s sleep and got up bright and sunny this morning–because today was the day the last of the announced mass-release Funko Civil War POP Vinyls was finally scheduled to hit stores! But I quickly hit a snag this morning, when I discovered that all of my local Gamestops–who insisted they wouldn’t take reservations–had decided to reserve out all of their received Giant-Man POPs. Thankfully, my wife was sweet enough to zip over to the closest Gamestop to her job and nab me the last 6″ Funko Giant-Man POP Vinyl! Was the big-guy worth all the trouble?

At this time last year, I was still whining about how Kotobukiya hadn’t even brought unpainted prototypes of any of their Marvel Now X-Men ARTFX+ statues series to New York Toy Fair 2015. Barely over a year later, and that’s a complaint of the past! Not only did Koto have the entire range of ARTFX+ X-Men statues on display at New York Toy Fair 2016, but with this week’s pre-order, the cycle–and the team–are complete: the Kotobukiya Wolverine ARTFX+ statue is now up for order!

Of course, what I should have suspected is what turns out to be the case–those sneak peeks were to get us all hyped up to order this first figure in the line! As much faith as I have in most of Hasbro’s Marvel toy lines, if there’s one Hasbro Marvel action figure line I wouldn’t buy based solely off the official photos, it’s the Titan Hero Series. So even though the Civil War Titan Hero Falcon and War Machine figures went up for order online a few days ago, there was no way I was picking them up without seeing them in person. But to my delight, I saw both 12″ figures locally today–and they may be the best Titan Heroes ever!

One of the hands-down biggest surprises for me at last month’s New York Toy Fair 2016 was how much I liked the first two Marvel Legends Prop Replica role-play toys: the life-size Captain America’s Shield and Iron Man’s Helmet. Hasbro said at Toy Fair they’d use the pre-order sales to gauge of the line would be continuing. They must be happy with the sales, because they’ve not posted a Fan’s Choice Vote online for the next addition to the Marvel Legends Role-Play Items line!

The fact that Disney decided late in the game that they didn’t want toy manufacturers “spoiling” the fact that Ant-Man was going to turn into Giant-Man in the “Captain America Civil War” movie–after many companies had already nearly finished production on their Civil War toys–is causing all the sorts of problems that you might expect. Primarily, Civil War figures that should be arriving any day now at stores can’t even be put up for pre-order yet.
