Some people think I’m joking when I talk about Funko being bent on world domination of the collectibles market, but I am dead serious. The sheer number of figures that Funko releases each year for various licensees is nothing short of awe-inspiring. And in summer 2014, Funko is launching another new branch of collectible figures: Funko Fabrikations! I was a bit dubious of these fabric-covered figures, but I ordered the Funko Marvel Fabrikations Deadpool for $17 shipped online anyway. June 2014 must just be a month for Marvel miracles! The once-legendary Dr. Doom’s star has fallen a lot in recent years. Oft considered the greatest Marvel villain, Dr. Doom has been surpassed in the public’s eyes by characters such as Loki, Magneto and Thanos receiving more attention in modern movies and comic storylines. Even so, Dr. Doom is an all-time-great supervillain and beloved by hardcore comic book fans the world over. I was blindsided earlier this week when Kotobukiya announced that they were releasing a Bishoujo Psylocke Classic X-Men Version statue as a SDCC 2014 exclusive. I love Psylocke, so I wasn’t complaining, but I had been absolutely certain that the Kotobukiya SDCC 2014 Bishoujo exclusive would be a variant of the Spider-Woman Bishoujo statue. We’re only a few days away from the start of July, which means that there’s just over a month until the Guardians of the Galaxy movie arrives in theaters! I’ve been holding off on talking further about the Marvel Legends Agent Venom figure because the whole Walgreens aspect of the release has just felt totally out-there to me. But it’s now been confirmed by Hasbro and Jesse Falcon, so there’s absolutely no room for doubt. Regular readers know that I’m pretty outspoken about my dislike of the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Marvel statues. I feel that they’re often posed in such a cheesecake way that they’re embarrassing to look at, much less bring into the house where my wife can see them. When the Marvel Select Unmasked Spider-Man figure from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie surfaced for sale a few weeks ago with no prior announcement whatsoever, I made a pretty big deal of how flabbergasted I was that Diamond Select Toys managed to secretly get a figure through design and production and into collectors’ hands without the secret leaking out. Well, they’ve done it again! Though it most likely wasn’t meant to appear just yet, a new Disney Store exclusive Marvel Select Savage Hulk figure has appeared for sale online this weekend!

This week Kotobukiya premiered the first paint photos of what I fully expected to be the final entry in the Kotobukiya Avengers ARTFX+ statues line: Iron Man. But while Iron Man was the sixth statue revealed for a line that was only expected to include six figures, Kotobukiya had a twist for us: a previously totally unannounced seventh Avengers Now ARTFX+ statue that’s also Iron Man! Get your wallets ready, Hot Toys Marvel collectors! A new Marvel Hot Toys figure has just been released overseas this week, and it’s a pretty major release. The first Hot Toys Captain America: The Winter Soldier sixth scale figure has arrived, and it’s the “Hot Toys Movie Promo Captain America Golden Age Edition Version” figure that sold out in just 12 hours when it went up for sale! Diamond Select Toys seems bent on making the most comprehensive Marvel action figures line ever with their Marvel Minimates. The Marvel Minimates line has been running now for over a decade, and includes hundreds of different figures.
