It’s time to call Hela, because Hel just froze over! For the second time in under a month, I’m excited about a Kotobukiya Marvel Bishoujo statue. Ordinarily I find the statues in this particular line to end up more than a little slutty-looking, but Koto really impressed me with their SDCC 2014 Psylocke Bishoujo exclusive. And now, just a few weeks after unveiling that beauty, Kotobukiya has blown away my expectations with another upcoming release: the Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo statue is now up for order!

Way back in April 2014, word leaked out via listings in the Barnes and Noble database that Funko had a quartet of Funko Thor The Dark World movie POP! Vinyls coming our way later on in the year. I figured once that happened, Funko would be officially announcing the whole wave of Thor The Dark World Funko POP! Vinyls any day. That obviously didn’t happen. But today, a quarter-year later, Funko is finally prepared to show off their four latest Funko Marvel POP Vinyls: Odin, Lady Sif, Heimdall and a new helmeted Loki are now up for order!

I went out yesterday afternoon specifically to see if my nearest Hallmart store had put out their ornaments early so that I could photograph the Marvel and LEGO ornaments. And while the 2014 Hallmark Ornaments were out early, I totally forgot to look at the Marvel ones–instead, I bought the Jawa Sandcrawler and Cantina Band ornaments. And so, today I journeyed back to Hallmark to check out the Hallmark Captain America & Spider-Man ornaments…

Following up the major pre-orders opening up for the Hot Toys Iron Man Bones Mark XLI figure and the Sideshow Sentinel Maquette, we have a Kotobukiya full reveal that fans have been waiting for literally all year! Kotobukiya meant to display the unpainted prototype of the Kotobukiya Brown Costume Wolverine Fine Arts statue at New York Toy Fair 2014, but snowstorms disagreed with their wishes. Well, it’s taken another five months to get here, but finally, the Kotobukiya Wolverine Brown Costume Fine Arts Statue is now up for order!

I was pretty lucky during the first ten days of Sideshow Collectibles’ Online Comic Con 2014 event. And by “lucky”, I mean that Sideshow didn’t put up a single item that I was going to be dropping hundreds of dollars on. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending upon your point of view), Sideshow hit the jackpot today with my wallet. A couple days ago I declared that the Mighty Muggs Rom Space Knight figure was the most out-of-left-field exclusive for this month’s San Diego Comic Con 2014. Well, I stand by that original assessment.

But if there was a prize for second most out-of-left-field SDCC 2014 exclusive, it would probably go to UCC Distributing for an exclusive they’re partnered up with Marvel and Hasbro for. I genuinely thought that there was a chance I was going to get away scot-free without having to buy any of this year’s Gentle Giant San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives. I’m okay living without a mini bust of the Rebel Alliance’s resident butterball, Jek Porkins, and I need a two foot tall, $500 neon green, glow-in-the-dark Aliens figure even less. But then Gentle Giant had to go and do it. They had to make their Marvel exclusive something that I absolutely cannot live without.

As far as unexpected, totally out-of-left-field exclusives go, Hasbro has just won San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Hands down. Unless you’ve been reading comics for three and a half decades (or grew up making semi-daily trips to the comic book store and buying old issues out of the bargain bins like me), you probably don’t have any clue who ROM The Space Knight even is. The robot form of ROM Space Knight hasn’t appeared in Marvel Comics in almost thirty years. But this month, ROM is back (sort of)–a Hasbro SDCC 2014 Exclusive ROM Space Knight Mighty Muggs figure is coming our way!

Vinyl exclusives released by Funko (including Unmasked Iron Patriot & Iron Man, Metallic Red Hulk, Metallic Ghost Rider and Metallic Deadpool), this year it looks like we’ll be enjoying one and only one 2014 SDCC Marvel POP Vinyls exclusive. Although we’ve been waiting for Marvel to officially announce the Funko Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusives, I surmised instantly what they were going to be based off of the vague hints that Funko posted many weeks ago. One of the hints indicated there would be a San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive Marvel Mystery Minis set of twelve figures–and lo and behold, that’s exactly what it is! But while most Funko Comic Con exclusives turn out to be straight-up repaints, Funko has surprised us by including some brand new molds unexpectedly as part of the 2014 SDCC Exclusive set!

They say that good things come to those who wait. And if you were a fan of the movie version of The Falcon in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in the spring, you’ve definitely had to wait for a quality action figure to be released. Hasbro missed the boat with no Marvel Legends Falcon figure and a mediocre 4″ Falcon, and the Hot Toys Falcon won’t be released until 2015. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel–an outstanding rendition of Anothony Mackie as the Falcon has now come home! The Marvel Select Falcon figure has now been released and is for sale online and in stores!
