If anyone had asked me to list off 100 characters I thought might get the Hasbro Marvel Legends treatment in 2015, May “Mayday” Parker would not have been on that list. But Hasbro has made some pleasantly surprising choices in 2015, and I sure am glad that they did!
The Spider-Man Marvel Legends Spider-Girl is now appearing in stores and shipping next week from Amazon–is she your worth your $20-$25? Read on…

Up until last month, we’d been in the midst of a bit of a Marvel Select drought, with no new figures hitting since last fall. And then, suddenly–thunder strikes!–and Diamond Select Toys has inundated with them. Following up on the recently-shipping Marvel Select Cable, Carnage and Modern Thor figures, a new figure has popped up–the Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select Avenging Hawkeye… with Pizza Dog!
UPDATED 3/19/2015: Added some additional photos and details on Hawkeye & Pizza Dog!

While Marvel’s eventual plan may be for Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) to become the iconic woman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s no question that–as of now–the Scarlett Johansson Black Widow is the breakout female character of the MCU. And with her fourth movie appearance coming up this summer in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, Black Widow is also about to get her fourth Hot Toys figure! With an absolutely loaded arsenal, the MMS288 Hot Toys Black Widow figure is now up for order!

When the listings for the Avengers Age of Ultron Funko POP Vinyls figures leaked out late last year, there was one name on the list that caught my eye: “Faded Vision”.
Images of Vision figures that had spent too long in the sun and had their paint fade to nothing flashed before my eyes, but I should have known the name was a misnomer: the Funko Phasing Vision POP Vinyls figure has now been revealed!

Of all the various Avengers Age of Ultron toy lines out there, the sole one that I immediately wrote off as being junk was the Hasbro 4″ Avengers Age of Ultron figures. With the line’s wonky paint deco and five points of articulation, I genuinely thought that Hasbro had zero plans for this line that would get collectors excited. I was wrong. Coming soon to Avengers Age of Ultron 4″: Scarlet Witch, Ultron 2.0 and Iron Legion figures!

I know that there’s no way that I can one-up the unbridled excitement that yesterday’s discussion of this year’s Marvel Candy Bowls drummed up, so I’m not even going to try to match that high mark today. No, instead I’m going to talk about something a little more mass-market today. Hasbro has been pleased with the performance of its Marvel Super Hero Mashers toy line over the past year, and in honor of the Avengers Age of Ultron movie, they’re giving us one of the most loaded sets yet: the Marvel Mashers Ultimate Avengers Set with Stealth Iron Man and Captain America figures!

I mentioned in my review of the Jubilee Bishoujo statue yesterday that there was a first time for everything. Well, I guess today it’s time for another first, because I’m going to be discussing something that can probably only be considered a “toy” at all by the barest of margins. The latest Marvel statues (of a sort) come from Rubie’s Costume Company–and they actually serve a functional purpose! The Rocket Raccoon, Thor and Venom Candy Bowl Holders are now up for order!

When it comes to the Kotobukiya line of Bishoujo statues, I’m one of the harshest critics out there. As much as I love most of Kotobukiya’s offerings, I often find their Bishoujo statues (such as Starfire and Spider-Woman) to be posed both demeaning and objectifying. There’s a first time for everything, though, and tonight I’ll be raving about the Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo statue. Bishoujo Jubilee is available now for 20% off and free shipping online–Should you buy her…? Does a mall babe eat chili fries?

I saw tons of fresh and exciting upcoming Marvel collectibles at New York Toy Fair 2015 last month, but the single biggest disappointment for me was what wasn’t at the show: the Kotobukiya X-Men ARTFX+ statues quietly announced at NYCC 2014.
I feared major delays, but luckily, I only had to wait a month to see the first complete prototype–the Marvel Now X-Men Kotobukiya Cyclops ARTFX+ statue!

Ever since toy manufacturers began revealing the lineups for their Avengers: Age of Ultron toys, collectors have been complaining about the lack of Scarlet Witch, Vision and Quicksilver figures. We’re getting LEGO and Minimates versions of all three, as well as comics-based Marvel Legends Vision and Scarlet Witch figures. Quicksilver has really gotten the bum’s rush, however. But now you can rejoice, collectors–because Hasbro has finally released the Quicksilver action figure we’ve all been waiting for: the Titan Hero Quicksilver figure has now been released!

Sideshow Collectibles must have decided that today was a slow day and it needed shaking up, because Sideshow hit up collectors today with a huge surprise: an in-stock and ready-to-ship, totally unannounced, exclusive White Black Widow Premium Format Figure stature variant–limited to just 200 pieces produced! While it’s not the most limited Marvel Premium Format statue ever released, it’s certainly among the shortest runs. And if you didn’t order it in the two and a half hours it was available, you’re out of luck–the Premium Format Black Widow White Edition is now sold out!

At this point in my collecting life, it takes a lot to get me so pumped up about going on a toy run that I don’t sleep well overnight. But that’s just what happened last night, when the long-awaited Marvel Legends SHIELD three-pack started showing up on ebay. And thus, I set out this morning on an hours-long quest to find my own Marvel Legends Coulson, Maria Hill and Nick Fury pack…

Last month, Hot Toys debuted an all-new range of super-deformed bobble-head figures called the Artist Mix Collection. Seeing as how these figures utilize a very similar size and are all super-deformed bobble figures, I assumed that we’d be getting the Avengers Age of Ultron Artist Mix Series instead of an Avengers Age of Ultron Cosbaby line. I assumed wrong. Last week, Hot Toys showed off the first six Avengers Cosbabies, and now they’ve followed up by revealing Series 1.5 and Series 2–including Cosbaby Vision, Black Widow and Hulkbuster Iron Man!

Before I got sidetracked by the maelstrom of Marvel toy news that was New York Toy Fair 2015, I had begun reviewing the 2015 Marvel Legends Avengers Infinite Series. Now that the flood of new info has subsided, it’s time to get back to business.
So let’s pick things back up with one of the figures that keeps selling out online–the Carol Danvers Avengers Marvel Legends Captain Marvel figure!

It was a week ago today that Hasbro allowed online retailers to start taking pre-orders for the Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 2 Thanos Series of action figures. Because of the case-pack ratios (where four of the six figures are packed at one-per-case), the vast majority of stores are only selling full cases (or complete sets at a markup) of the Avengers Legends Wave 2 figures. But what if you just want a Marvel Legends Batroc Spider-Woman…? Have no fear: Amazon is now pre-selling all six Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 2 figures for about retail price and with free shipping!
