Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 Figure Released

I’m pretty “with it” as far as getting my pre-orders in early goes, but occasionally something will slip through the cracks. Such was the case with the Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 Fireman Edition figure. This first release Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Select figure pre-sold out like lightning, so I told myself I didn’t need him in my collection. But today I found myself waiting outside my local comic book store as they opened, as today was the official release date for the Fireman Edition Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure…

Funko POP! Vinyls Unmasked Star-Lord Review & Photos

Funko Guardians of the Galaxy Unmasked Star-Lord POP! Vinyls Box

LIFO is an acronym for “Last In, First Out” in Computer Science (it’s one of the few things I remember from when I was getting my Computer Science degree). I don’t program anymore, but even so, I think of LIFO every time a new toy gets both announced and released before ones that we’ve seen and been waiting for for longer (yes, the whole world is toys to me). Such is the case with the Funko POP Vinyls Guardians of the Galaxy Unmasked Star-Lord figure that went up for sale long after its comrades, but has now arrived ahead of all the other Funko GOTG POP Vinyls…

Unmasked Captain America Funko POP! Vinyls Figure

Funko is the king of variant figures, and over the course of the past year one of their most frequent “go to”s for variant ideas is the tried-and-true tradition of “unmasked superhero” figures! Funko unmasked Spider-Man, Iron Patriot and Iron Man as convention exclusives in 2013, and the Funko Unmasked Star-Lord POP! Vinyl figure exclusive just started shipping. Of course, Marvel had another big star who’s always been wearing a mask before for his POP! Vinyls, and Funko just couldn’t let that fly: the Funko Unmasked Captain America POP! Banpresto Iron Man WCF World Collectible Figures Photos Preview

WCF Iron Man World Collectable Figures Banpresto

I buy almost as many import anime toys as I do Marvel toys, so I’m pretty familiar with Japanese manufacturer Banpresto. In fact, they make some of my favorite static One Piece figures, including the detailed Grandline Men and Master Stars Piece lines. Banpresto is perhaps most famous, though, for their game center prize figures, including the World Collectible Figures (WCF). Usually the WCF line is reserved for anime and Japanese characters, but this fall Banpresto will bring Marvel into the WCF world–the Iron Man World Collectable Figures are now up for order!

Marvel Disney Infinity 2.0 Iron Fist Figure Packaged

If Disney was trying to keep the inclusion of Spider-Man related characters in the upcoming Marvel Disney Infinity 2.0 video game a secret, they did a crummy job of doing so, as there were several Spidey-related scenes in the Disney Infinity 2.0 premiere trailer. Even if that was Disney’s intent, however, the time for secrets is past! At the 2014 E3 Expo this week, Disney officially revealed all the details for the Ultimate Spider-Man portion of Disney Infinity 2.0–including the Disney Infinity 2.0 figures of Venom, Iron Fist, Nova and more!

Marvel Mashers Loki & Doc Ock Figures Released & Photos!

Marvel Super Hero Mashers Loki Figure Close-Up

It’s the toy collecting equivalent of the irresistible force meeting the unmovable object! I’ve been fiercely adamant in my stance that I was never going to pick up any of the Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures, as I thought they were pretty much the most ludicrous thing ever the first time that I saw them.

But Hasbro has found my weakness, and has moved in to exploit it: Loki toys! The Marvel Mashers Loki and Doc Ock figures have now been released!

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Select Unmasked Spider-Man

There aren’t very many major action figure companies in existence today that can manage to get a high-profile Marvel figure through development and up for sale without any forewarning whatsoever, but that’s a feat that Diamond Select Toys has pulled off today! While there’s still no Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Select Electro or Green Goblin forthcoming (nor are any expected to be), a new Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Select figure is now up for sale: Marvel Select Unmasked Spider-Man!

Guardians of the Galaxy Hot Toys Figure Prototypes

Hot Toys announced in July 2013–close to a full year ago–that they had obtained the license to make Guardians of the Galaxy Hot Toys sixth scale figures. So it’s not exactly an unexpected development that Hot Toys has revealed their first photo of the impending Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy 1/6 line of Movie Masterpiece Series figures (what with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie hitting theaters in under two months and all). What is a twist, however, is exactly what Hot Toys has unveiled–prototypes for all five members of the Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy figures!

Marvel Legends Agent Venom Figure 2014 Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends

Asia is becoming quite the hot spot for Marvel Legends news! The news that the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Marvel Legends Black Widow figures would be increased to two-per-case came first from Asia, as did the first leaked photos and information regarding this summer’s X-Men Marvel Legends Infinite Series figures. And now, we’ve got an announcement that’s almost as unexpected coming from a Hasbro Asia solicitation: the long-lost 6″ Marvel Legends Agent Venom figure appears to finally be shipping this summer!

Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin Figure Revealed!

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin Figure Packaged Hasbro

Harry Osborn is my favorite character in any iteration of Spider-Man, but I had my reservations about Dane DeHaan playing Harry Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man 2. As things turned out, Dane DeHaan’s performance as Harry Osborn was one of the brightest spots of that movie (not that that was all that difficult). And while I gagged at some of the illogical and irredeemable actions Harry perpetrated as the Green Goblin, I’ve been wanting a Hasbro action figure of him anyway. And in July 2014, the first Hasbro Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin figure will arrive!
