There’s good news and bad news for Marvel collectors who are getting pumped for this summer’s Hasbro X-Men Marvel Legends Infinite Series with Jubilee Build-A-Figure. The good news is that the series is going to have additional availability beyond Toys R Us, as online retailers and comic book stores will also be taking pre-orders for the 6″ X-Men Legends figures. The bad news is that the case ratios for the series have also been revealed, and two of the figures coming with Jubilee Build-A-Figure parts are in fact shortpacked…

LEGO knows how to make money better than any other toy company on Earth, so even though their sole LEGO Marvel X-Men set wasn’t scheduled to be released until June/July 2014, there was no way that LEGO was going to miss out on the chance of moving the set more quickly by having it out in time for the release of the X-Men Days of Future Past movie debut. I spotted the LEGO X-Men vs. The Sentinel 76022 set unexpectedly last week before the movie premiered, but ended up not picking it up myself due to the outrageous amount of money LEGO and other Marvel licensees have already gotten from me this month. Things have been pretty quiet on the Marvel Kotobukiya statues front ever since they released the Avengers Hulk ARTFX+ statue that I reviewed last month.

Hasbro did a superb job this year of keeping their SDCC 2014 Marvel Legends exclusive set of 6″ figures under wraps until they were ready to grandly unveil it today. Their 3.75″ Marvel Infinite Series SDCC 2014 exclusive set…? Not so much. We’d seen some photos leak from Asia over the last few weeks, and I instantly guessed that we would be getting a Thanos-themed Marvel Universe exclusive set. And, as expected, that’s exactly what we’re getting–but it’s also coming with a really cool wearable, foam Infinity Gauntle! It’s the SDCC 2014 Marvel Infinity Gauntlet figures set!

If there’s one thing that we’ve learned to count on for each and every Marvel movie that gets released, it’s a corresponding series of Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel Minimates figures! Oftentimes the Minimates series may miss the premiere of the movie it’s tied into, but we’ve grown accustomed to getting movie Minimates without fail (eventually). Toys R Us used to almost always have their own remixed exclusive wave of movie Minimates, but they’ve cut way back in recent years. However, Toys R Us did invest in their own exclusive Amazing Spider-Man 2 Minimates series, and it has now arrived in stores!

I have not exactly been gushing with praise in my reviews of the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends figures thus far, but lest anyone think that I’m totally unhappy with the series, it’s time to talk about one of the figures in the series that’s good. Really good. And it’s lucky that he’s really good, because we’re going to be seeing a lot of him, as he’s heavy-packed at two-per-case!
