We’ve known since last year that Hot Toys has acquired the license to make Hot Toys Captain America The Winter Soldier sixth scale figures, but Hot Toys has been pretty mum regarding the lineup (aside from a Photoshopped teaser of Captain America and The Winter Soldier from the start of the year). LEGO was a lot more successful with prohibiting photos of the upcoming LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy sets at Toy Fair 2014 than I expected them to be. Marvel did not want LEGO to allow photography of the Summer 2014 LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy sets, and as such no one was permitted to take photos. Of course, it was only a matter of time until some images leaked anyway, and now we can share a first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO Knowhere Escape Mission 76020!

Perhaps the very best Marvel action figure of 2013 didn’t come from one of the more prolific companies like Hasbro or the most glamorous like Hot Toys. No, the top pick for Marvel figure of the year for last year was by Diamond Select Toys–the Marvel Select Venom figure. Released in February 2013, the Marvel Select Venom action figure followed in the footsteps of his symbiote predecessors by quickly selling out and exploding in value. Marvel Super Hero Mashers definitely are not my favorite action figure line of 2014. In general, they’re a bit too “kiddie” for me, and I wasn’t totally in love with the character selection for the first series. That said, Hasbro may have won me over–just a little bit–with their Toy Fair 2014 Marvel Super Hero Mashers Series 3 reveals. Many companies brought half-finished packaging for their upcoming products to New York Toy Fair 2014, and some brought no packaging at all. But one company that brought the fully-designed, real deal to the show was Funko (along with about a million new figures)! Particularly nice is their Guardians of the Galaxy packaging, which looks quite different from the usual Funko Marvel packaging.
