X-Men #12 Review & Spoilers (Marvel Comic Book – 2014)

Posted on by October 12, 2017
X-Men #12 Cover March 2014 Issue Brian Wood

When Brian Wood’s all-female X-Men comic book series launched last year, I was quick to applaud the book as being fresh, fun and on it’s way to being the best X-Men title published by Marvel Comics. To my disappointment, things quickly went astray and a once-promising comic book fizzled into mediocrity. X-Men #12 continues the downward spiral and is unfortunately the worst issue of the series to date…

Funko Captain America The Winter Soldier Black Widow Vinyl Figure Review

Ordinarily I don’t like ordering Marvel Funko POP Vinyls online, as I’m pretty OCD about paint applications. KidRobot Marvel Labbit Series 2 Review: Iron Man & Spider-Man

Posted on by March 20, 2014
Spider-Man Labbit Figure Shooting Web Fluid

This was a particularly crummy week for me, rife with personal illness and a death in my family. Some people console themselves with whiskey and such under similar circumstances. I do it with blind-boxed vinyl figures. And two of the blind boxes that I picked up this week (of many) were my first two KidRobot Marvel Labbit Minis Series 2 “bloxes”. I was aiming for Carnage and Anti-Venom, but this just wasn’t my week (if any regard). I drew the two most common KidRobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 figures: Spider-Man and Iron Man. Were they worth my 20 bucks? Read on…

Marvel Minimates Starlord Guardians of the Galaxy Figure

While Diamond Select Toys gave press and buyers at the 2014 New York Toy Fair the first look at this summer’s Marvel Minimates Guardians of the Galaxy figures, photography of the Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates (like most GOTG merch) was not allowed at the event. Collectors have had to be content with word-of-mouth textual descriptions of the wave–until now! Diamond Select has now pulled back the curtain, and the complete Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates series is now available for order!

Hot Toys Bruce Banner & Hulk Set Released 6 Months Early!

Hot Toys Hulk Banner MMS Figure Set Box

I do my best to plan my collecting budget for the year around the estimated release dates that Hot Toys gives us for their various Marvel 1/6 figures, as those tend to be the most expensive figures I buy each year. But, well–sometimes you need to be flexible, and this is apparently going to be one of those times! Even though the Avengers Hot Toys Bruce Banner and Hulk set pre-order still estimates the set shipping in September 2014, prepare your wallets for a smashing–the Hot Toys Hulk and Bruce Banner figures set has now been released overseas!

Figma Avengers Iron Man Mark VII Figure on Stand

Considering the Iron Man Mark VII armor is featured in the most popular and top-grossing superhero movie of all-time (The Avengers), you’d think our shelves would be overflowing with a ton of great scaled 6″ Marvel Legends Iron Man Mark VII figures. Instead, we have zero. For whatever reason, Hasbro has never prioritized making a Mark VII Iron Man Marvel Legends-scaled figure, leaving a gaping hole in many collectors’ lineups. But it’s Japan to the rescue! Coming in August 2014, the amazing (and amazingly expensive) Avengers Figma Iron Man Mark VII figure is now up for order!
