Captain America The Winter Soldier Hot Toys Black Widow Scarlett Johansson Head Close-Up

I start to get a little antsy if there’s not a new Hot Toys Marvel Movie Masterpiece Series 1/6 figure for me to preemptively drop a couple hundred dollars on every month. It’s been just over a month since the awesome Whiplash Mark II went up for sale, and I haven’t been entirely sure what was next–but now we know! The Captain America: The Winter Soldier Hot Toys Black Widow 1/6 figure is now available for order! They say the third time is the charm, and perhaps that’s the case with this new Black Widow…

Bowen Wonder Man Statue by Jason Smith 2014

Bowen Designs Marvel statue collectors are sort of going through a dark time right now. Almost every item that has been solicited has shipped now, and Bowen Designs has not yet announced a new contract being signed with Marvel to produce Marvel Bowen statues in 2014 and beyond. So, yeah–things are not exactly looking up at this moment.

But occasionally we still get a sneak peek at what could be, should a new contract be signed. Such is the case with this concept Bowen Wonder Man statue that was revealed over the weekend…

Hot Toys Rose Hill Tony Stark Released & Crazy Sale Prices!

Rose Hill Tony Stark Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Figure

Confession time: As ardent of a supporter of Iron Man 3 and the Hot Toys Iron Man 3 line as I am, there’s one figure that I passed on attempting to pre-order and have no intention of ever picking up. That figure is the Hot Toys Rose Hill Tony Stark figure (which some people affectionately refer to as “Cowboy Tony”). Yes, there’s actually a figure of Tony Stark from the seconds where he walked into a TV van donning a cowboy hat. That’s one surprise–but the real surprise is that this particular just-released Hot Toys Tony Stark Rose Hill figure is selling for $400+ online already!

Captain America The Winter Soldier Hot Toys Captain America Shields

We’ve known since last year that Hot Toys has acquired the license to make Hot Toys Captain America The Winter Soldier sixth scale figures, but Hot Toys has been pretty mum regarding the lineup (aside from a Photoshopped teaser of Captain America and The Winter Soldier from the start of the year). But luckily, we are now less than one month away from the release of the Captain America 2 movie, and Hot Toys can begin showing their cards. And they did so overnight in a huge way, revealing what looks to be at least four new 1/6 Captain America: The Winter Soldier Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series figures…

Guardians of the Galaxy Big Blastin' Rocket Raccoon Action Figure Hasbro 2014

It’s always tough to drum up enthusiasm to write an article that most people aren’t going to read about a figure that most readers aren’t going to be interested in buying. Luckily, it helps when the figure in question happens to be one of your absolute favorite characters in the whole Marvel Universe! Coming to stores in July 2014, it’s the biggest Rocket Raccoon action figure scheduled for release–the mighty 8″ Big Blastin’ Rocket Raccoon Guardians of the Galaxy electronic figure!

New York Toy Fair 2014 LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Knowhere Escape Mission 76020

LEGO was a lot more successful with prohibiting photos of the upcoming LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy sets at Toy Fair 2014 than I expected them to be. Marvel did not want LEGO to allow photography of the Summer 2014 LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy sets, and as such no one was permitted to take photos. Of course, it was only a matter of time until some images leaked anyway, and now we can share a first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO Knowhere Escape Mission 76020!

Marvel Legends Carnage Infinite Series Figure Review

Now that the 2014 Toy Fair is officially in the history books, I want to jump back and discuss some of the collectibles that I put on the back-burner over the course of the past month. One such action figure is quite possible the single most popular Hasbro Marvel Legends action figure released thus far in 2014: the Spider-Man Marvel Legends Carnage Infinite Series figure! Carnage has had his fair share of figures released in the past, but this one? This one is going to be the bar that all future Carnage figures will have to strive to surpass…

Marvel Labbit Series 2 Case KidRobot 2014 Vinyl Figures

One of the things that instantly caught my attention at the New York Toy Fair 2014 was a brand-new KidRobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 assortment! KidRobot can go years between releasing series, so I wasn’t anticipating seeing more Marvel Labbits until 2015. Joke’s on me, though–not only did Kid Robot show an entire new series of Marvel Labbits figures, but all of the 2014 Marvel Labbits figures are due to be released in stores this coming week!

Marvel Select Venom Figure Reissue Announced

Perhaps the very best Marvel action figure of 2013 didn’t come from one of the more prolific companies like Hasbro or the most glamorous like Hot Toys. No, the top pick for Marvel figure of the year for last year was by Diamond Select Toys–the Marvel Select Venom figure. Released in February 2013, the Marvel Select Venom action figure followed in the footsteps of his symbiote predecessors by quickly selling out and exploding in value. But if you missed out last year, you’re in luck–Diamond Select Toys has opened pre-orders for a Marvel Select Venom reissue!

Glow in the Dark Funko POP Vinyls Captain America Winter Soldier Figure

Another day, another Funko variant. Last week I talked about the unannounced release of the Barnes and Noble exclusive Funko Black & White Captain America POP! Vinyls figure. Cap is an old-timey kind of guy and Funko loves their black and white variants, so that release was pretty commonplace. This latest release is going to be one that’s a lot more unexpected, however–the exclusive Funko Glow-in-the-Dark Captain America POP Vinyls figure! (Yes, that’s right–I said “Glow-in-the-Dark Captain America. Seriously.)

Figma Avengers Thor Figure with Flight Stand Max Factory 2014

Well that was fast, now wasn’t it? Over the weekend the first painted prototype images of the Figma Avengers Thor 6″ Figure surfaced from a Japanese magazine. Good Smile Company (the distributor of Figma figures) has now released hi-res images of the 6″ Figma Thor action figure, and pre-orders for the Figma Thor are now available!

But while this is one mighty fine-looking Avengers Thor movie action figure, the price he comes at is mighty high…

Funko Marvel Mystery Minis Orange Deadpool Exclusive!

Toy Fair 2014 Funko Deadpool Mystery Minis Orange Variant

Of the hundreds of new products that I saw at the 2014 Toy Fair International, the most enigmatic one turned out to be one of the smallest. Within a couple seconds of walking into the Funko booth, I saw a couple orange Deadpool Mystery Minis variants on display. I asked two of the workers at the booth about this mysterious Funko orange Deadpool, but neither knew the details on it. I should have kept asking, though, because on this week’s Marvelicious Toys Podcast Issue 111, they spill the goods on exactly where this orange Deadpool may be exclusive to…

Hasbro Guardians of the Galaxy Figures 2-Packs – Toy Fair 2014

Rocket Raccoon 2.5 Inch Figure Hasbro Guardians of the Galaxy

When Hasbro announced the lineup for the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy figures assortment earlier this month, many collectors (including me) were bummed that the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends were limited to the five members of the team with zero villains or secondary characters. Well, Hasbro revealed a whole range of Guardians of the Galaxy 2.5″ figure two-packs at Toy Fair 2014 last week, and if you want villains and ancillary characters, you’re in luck! But if you want high-quality, well-articulated figures of those characters–then you may be out of luck…

Marvel Super Hero Mashers Series 3: Ghost Rider! Deadpool! Iceman!

2014 Toy Fair Marvel Mashers Ghost Rider

Marvel Super Hero Mashers definitely are not my favorite action figure line of 2014. In general, they’re a bit too “kiddie” for me, and I wasn’t totally in love with the character selection for the first series. That said, Hasbro may have won me over–just a little bit–with their Toy Fair 2014 Marvel Super Hero Mashers Series 3 reveals. As if Hasbro went into my brain and pulled out four characters that would be ideal lures for me, at last week’s New York Toy Fair 2014 Hasbro debuted the Marvel Mashers Deadpool, Iceman, Red Hulk and Ghost Rider figures!
