Seeing as how the first wave of Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series 3 3/4″ action figures are almost ready to ship out and up till now we’d heard zippo from Hasbro about Wave 2, it didn’t take a zen master of collecting to know that the 2014 Marvel Universe Infinite Series 2 figures would be debuting at New York Toy Fair 2014 this weekend.
And as expected, they did–highlighted by the Marvel Infinite Series 2 Whirlwind, Death’s Head and Red She-Hulk action figures!

We’ve known for months now that Diamond Select Toys has a pair of Marvel Select Captain America The Winter Soldier figures scheduled to come out this spring. We’ve previously seen an image of the Marvel Select Stealth Captain America released online, and this week’s American International Toy Fair 2014 was the first chance to see Cap in person. But Stealth Cap didn’t come alone–at the New York 2014 this week, we also got to see the Marvel Select Falcon figure fly in for his grand debut!

It was actually not until my third pass through the New York Toy Fair 2014 ThreeA Toys booth that I realized there was something new on display at the booth. While my eyes had been drawn to the four ThreeA Iron Man figures on display repeatedly, somehow I kept missing the figure standing immediately next to them. But sure enough, I eventually did open my eyes all the way and see the debuting prototype of the next addition to the line: the Marvel ThreeA Dr. Doom sixth scale figure!

Sometimes you wake up in the morning and it is legitimately the perfect day. For me, this morning was one of those mornings. Not only did I wake up this morning to discover that the first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer had premiered overnight (an event which I knew about but somehow forgot to watch anyway), but then I logged onto my computer to discover a totally unexpected statue announcement–the Kotobukiya Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon and Groot ArtFX+ Statue is now available for order!

Of all the things that I was not expecting to see while wandering around the Diamond Comics Distribution booth’s display cases at this week’s New York Toy Fair 2014, a brand-new, unannounced deluxe MAFEX action figure set would have been near the top of the list. While we learned last month than MAFEX had a brand-new Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie figure on the way for later in 2014, what we didn’t know until Toy Fair 2014 is that they were also planning on releasing a special MAFEX Amazing Spider-Man 2 DX Set with a ton of accessories. Of course, the catch is that those accessories will cost you. A lot.

Photos of the Marvel Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP! Vinyls Star Lord, Groot and Drax the Destroyer figure prototypes leaked onto the web a while ago, so we had some idea of what to expect when Funko did the grand New York Toy Fair 2014 Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP Vinyls reveal. To keep things interesting, though, Funko had a couple surprises lined up beyond painted versions of the figures we’d already seen: brand-new, never-before-seen Funko Rocket Raccoon and Gamora POP! The existence of the LEGO Marvel 2014 set featuring a LEGO Sentinel, Blackbird jet, and minifigures of Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops and Magneto is one of LEGO’s worst-kept secrets. Images of prototypes of the set have been circulating for months on various sites (including here), so it was a veritable certainty that the set would be shown at the New York Toy Fair 2014 this weekend. It was. The LEGO X-Men vs. The Sentinel 76022 set is coming in summer 2014!

Considering that we had seen at least the untainted prototypes of five of the six Kotobukiya Avengers ArtFX+ statues at NYCC 2013 in October, I had an expectation of seeing the whole lineup at New York Toy Fair 2014 this weekend.
I was not disappointed–the Avengers Kotobukiya Iron Man ArtFX+ statue has been revealed, and he brought the painted Kotobukiya Thor statue along for the ride!

The 2014 New York Toy Fair won’t officially begin until tomorrow (though there’s lots of cool Hasbro news still to come today), but Funko has decided to get fans psyched up a day early by previewing one of their big news line: Funko Fabrikations 6″ plush toys. This is relevant because the line will include Marvel characters, beginning with the Funko Fabrikations Deadpool plush that is now up for pre-order and shipping in spring 2014!

It’s been a little while since we’ve had a new high-end Marvel sculpture revealed to discuss, and far longer since there’s been a high-end statue or mini bust of a character who has never been given the high-end collectibles treatment before! With the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on the horizon, it’s not a big shocker to see some never-before-done characters getting the spotlight, and the leader of the team will be getting it first–the Gentle Giant Star-Lord Mini Bust is coming in Q4 2014!

The Hasbro portion of the New York Toy Fair 2014 begins in just two days, but apparently Hasbro couldn’t stand to keep some of their main event offerings under wraps for even one minute longer!
They’ll be on display in the Hasbro showroom at the 2014 Toy Fair this weekend, but we now have our very first look at most of the 6″ Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy figures, including the 7″ Marvel Legends Groot Build-A-Figure!

Though I run both a LEGO blog and a Marvel blog, I don’t buy every LEGO Marvel set. With LEGO there are just so many high-priced items each year, and usually they’re better than the Marvel LEGO ones. That said, as soon as I saw the LEGO Marvel Hulk Lab Smash 76018 set, I knew it would be coming home. And sure enough, I walked into the LEGO Store Tuesday, saw LEGO 76018, bought it on sight, and built it immediately. I’ll review the playset portion of this set later, and discuss what everyone really wants to hear about first: the minifigures!
