When speculation hit the net that the major licensed 2014 LEGO sets would be delayed past January 2014 until after the theatrical release of The LEGO Movie (so as not to damage LEGO Movie sets’ early sales), I thought that notion was silly.

Collecting the Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2014 Infinite Series has been an arduous undertaking. After hitting dozens of stores last month and failing to find even a single figure from Wave 1 (no, not even the Superior Spider-Man figures), I gave up and bought a set online. Though Hasbro’s new-for-2014 “Marvel Super Hero Mashers” action figures aren’t tops on most collectors’ lists, the line seems to be at least moderately well-received at retail, where I’m seeing most characters (that aren’t Hawkeye) sold out on a regular basis. And it’s a lucky thing that the line is selling decently so far, as Hasbro has several more assortments planned for the first half of 2014, including the recently-announced Marvel Super Hero Mashers Venom, Falcon Loki, Doc Ock and Green Goblin figures!

Thus far, the Captain America Super Soldier Gear figures series have not exactly been a smash hit. I see very few people talking about these Hasbro 3 3/4″ Captain America The Winter Soldier figures, and plenty of every figure–even the shortpacked Red Skull–on retail shelves.
